[PC, Steam] Free - Endless Legend @ Amplitude Studios

590

Note: I haven't claimed this deal since I purchased the game years ago. Apparently there is a little bit of effort to claim the freebie. You have to create an account with Amplitude Studios and link it to your Steam account. The actual link to claim the game seems to be: https://community.amplitude-studios.com/profile/me/rewards?r…

The Steam page is: https://store.steampowered.com/app/289130/ENDLESS_Legend/ . There are 12 DLCs for the game, currently 70% to 80% off. Like Paradox, they have decided to make profits off the addons and give the base game away for free. Free to play is a viable business model; Genshin Impact and Fortnite generate lots of profit.

Marketing hype: "Explore fantastic lands.

  • Lead one of eight civilizations each with a unique gameplay style and storyline.
  • Survive through cold dark seasons that drive Auriga to its end. Will it also be yours?
  • Experience an endless replayability with randomly generated worlds and quests.
  • Set the size, shape, topography and more… to create your own world to discover.

Expand beyond the unknown.

  • Conquer, build and develop villages into feared fortresses or wonderful cities.
  • Assimilate powerful minor factions and use their special traits and units wisely.
  • Hire, equip and train your heroes to become army leaders or city governors.
  • Raise your civilization by finding mysterious artefacts and forgotten technologies.

Exploit every opportunity.

  • Evolve your civilization through the discovery of new advanced technologies.
  • Collect Dust, luxuries and strategic resources tradable on the marketplace.
  • Keep one step ahead of other civilizations through trade and subtle diplomacy.
  • Choose from different victory conditions and adapt your strategy on the fly.

Exterminate fools who defy you.

  • Experience an innovative dynamic simultaneous turn-based battle system.
  • Use unit equipment, abilities and the terrain to overcome your opponents.
  • Zoom out of a battle and rule the other aspects of your empire seamlessly.
  • Define your custom civilizations and confront those created by your friends."

  • I have claimed the freebie by linking my Steam account. But although it shows in my library it still shows available to purchase.Did anyone else got the same?

      go to this page https://community.amplitude-studios.com/profile/me/rewards?r…
then click on the "Endless Dungeon" banner under full game, then click "Steam" icon on the lower right in the popup, then sign in to Steam to claim the key

      • It says already claimed. I didn't get a key. But game it's in my Steam library.

        • sorry what I mean is they will link the game to your library instead of giving you key to claim yourself

    • +3

It's so you can purchase it as a gift.

You can't purchase it for yourself if you already own it, the button is disabled.

Not that it's really worth it to do so, given that:
      - It's free.
      - I think cross region gifting is still enabled for this game, oddly enough. (This has defaulted to be disabled for a while now)

  • Is the game actually any good? Huge Paradox fan here. Seems too Civlike.

    • +2

I found it so-so to be honest.

I've purchased it with DLCs but with only one single playthrough (9 hours) I won the game, while not really knowing if what I did is right or not. For a grand strategy game, knowing enough to play and win your first games makes it seem too easy. I also found it quite dull.

It is meant to be a more relaxed Civlike, with minor RPG elements. Each fraction does play differently and has interesting lore mechanics.

Steam has it at 84% positive regardless.

  • Showing $$ for me

    • If you followed the instructions here it's most probably in your Steam Library. It shows a price if you want to purchase it as a gift. See explanation here

  • Went to check my Steam library first as I have a huge backlog of un-played/forgotten games and there it was, showing that I last played it in 2017. Must have got it as a freebie or as part of a Humble Bundle.

  • Thanks for this. Pretty easy to claim for me.

  • Thanks op!

Game has steam trading cards too.
