Long standing deal, but not published since 2021 on OzB.

Register with QBE first via link.
'Switch' not necessary, but you need to register with QBE first every time. I've being registering the same car with QBE for years now.
Then pay your 12months CTP insurance via Service SA.

$25 voucher emailed to you.

Apparently $50 GC in QLD!

On my rego statement this week : all five insurers cost the same.

On my rego statement this week : all five insurers cost the same.

On mine QBE it's $5 more expensive than the other insurers. But $25 Gift Card sounds good. I forgot about this deal. They used to advertise it (I don't think they advertise it anymore).
    Thanks for the reminder.

i get ads for it online (via mobile games watching ads for extra lives etc..)

I think they have some bus ads as well

Have done it twice with QBE, that's 50 dollars in the wallet

    You're almost at gift card happiness. To make sure you get your $25 eGift Card, make sure you have;

Renewed and paid your vehicle registration
    Selected the following;
    ✔ QBE as the insurer
    ✔ 12-month registration renewal period

But you say 'switch' is not necessary?

    • +2

You don’t need to switch. Have done this a couple of times in a row now no worries.

      • So even if I do nothing I'll get emailed a voucher? I didn't even renew 12months last time, only 3. Is 12 months renew required as per title?

        • +1

You'll need to register before each 12-month renewal

  • +4

I was pleasantly surprised with CTP renewal. Unlike EVERYTHING else, it was lower!

  • +1

Wow actually a reason to clearly go with one of the 5 options that literally all cost the same, and is compulsory insurance you will probably not use over your comprehensive anyway?

Been doing this for around 4 to 5 years now.

At one stage it was $50.

  • +3

Up to $50 for Qld as well.

    • Wow!

    • But only for new customers. :(

      • It looks like the SA deal, but better. I don't think it's just 'new' customers. Just do the same car registration, 12-monthly, every year.
Log onto QBE and register before you renew, each year

        • As per terms: Offer is only available to new QBE CTP customers for their first year. It is not available to existing customers.

          • @maccam01: In SA : not so.
I did it last year and received the GC, and just did it again this year (and received my gift card by email already).

  • QBE seem to be one of the last companies offering an incentive to switch to them these days. Is anyone else still doing it? Always good to be able to bounce between CTP deals each year.

    • What a wonderful question… for google DYOR

  • Vicroads is the monopoly for CTP in VIC.

    • You know CTP is much more expensive in NSW than Vic right, because of this monopoly.

Cheapest CTP (according to calculator) for 5 year old Corolla for 34 year old man is $433. Add $621 rego it's $1054.

      In Vic it's $876 https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registration/registration-fe….

      NSW is 20% more

I think what DrMikrop means is that in Vic there is only one CTP provider (TAC). I don't think you can choose QBE / AAMI etc.

        CTP in SA ~ $188
Rego ~ $460 (for my specific car)

The only downside to this is that many gift cards don't have a $25 option. I've found it easiest to convert to Amazonas then it is automatically used on my next order.

    • +1

Agree - I also convert immediately to Amazon gift cards and buy TP 😂

QBE quoted me $9000 for my car insurance lol. 19 yr old driver clean history

    • This is for ctp (car rego)

  • Didn't know they have this, just renewed my rego 2 weeks ago lol. I guess have to wait until next year?

    • +1

Sadly yes you'll need to wait until next time you register your car

      • +1

No problem, thanks for the reply mate, will keep this in mind for next year haha

        • See below : MadMapMan says can do it AFTER (so long as you paid 12mo with QBE). You might want to give it a go!

    • +1

Nope! You can claim after doing your (12mo) rego - I do. Just need your payment ID and details to register for the GC. (They even contacted me to get correct client number as I mistyped the number - very helpful)
