Regularly this price. pretty good value. Had one fail on me after 1 summers use (Melbourne, so we only use these for a few months a year)., other two seem ok. They replaced it without issue. Fyi it started to leak around the valve.
Each season they change this model slightly. So you never know exactly what you're going to get. Last year's had the exact same spec but was narrower, and I found it a little more unstable. Previous year to that model were great, but lost 1 due to leak, other still going strong

    • Are they stable enough for beginner to mock around with in PPB under calm condition? or only suitable for freshwater around lakes and rivers?

Tahwali makes good stuff. I've got a beach tent that gets used plenty still going strong after 5 years.

  • Anaconda have these for $199 with all the kit, I don't have experience of this exact one but the Aqua Marine Monster is a really good piece of kit

This is a good price, normally on sale from $300-$350. I bought one a few years ago and I've had no problems.

I've helped a few people pump these up as they think their pump is broken. However the pump is fine, it just doesn't display anything on the dial until you hit about 6 or 7psi.

The manual pump is a good warm up for the paddle. It takes me about 7 minutes to pump up to 15psi.

  • Thanks been waiting for this to drop before the regular sale price of 299

If you don't mind Adventure Kings, I got their 10'6" board only, no pump, last week for $129, and went through their eBay store so was able to apply a $10 voucher. Picked up a two adapters with schrader valves for $17 on Amazon and pulled the pin out of one and can now inflate with my 12v air compressor in a few minutes.

Do you mind linking the adaptors? Blowing these things up has been my major source of hesitancy

    • I hear Kings are really popular in Apollo Bay.

Saw a video of a guy really enjoying himself on one

    • Can you advise what pulling the pin out means and how to do it? What does this change?

I have one of these adapters and use it with my DeWalt battery powered compressor but it is painfully slow to get it from 5-15psi (20mins+).

The valve just becomes a pipe with nothing to stop the airflow, both ways, so if you take the pump hose off the schrader your board will deflate. Leave the pump hose connected and remove the adapter first so the board valve shuts off. It may be limited by your battery compressor though.

        • Thankyou- so the benefit being less work for your compressor and faster inflation?

          • @Qbagger: Less restriction of airflow. I also used to use one of these adaptors (didn't think to remove the pin admittedly) with my Ozito dual inflator. I 3D printed an adaptor for the low pressure raft inflator side so it took about 1 minute to take shape then swapped over to the high pressure with the adapter linked (though only couple of bucks from China). Still took ages though. If you want to use these adaptors best to have a proper 12V compressor (like the Kings Thumper etc) not a battery powered one.

Ended up buying one of these inflators (for about $90 at the time). Set and forget, low pressure inflates first then automatically switches over to high pressure pump. Takes about 8 mins to 15PSI.
Another couple of dollars for a 20A buck converter from China again made it portable to run off my Ozito batteries.

            • @bamzero: Thanks I'll give it a go!

My DeWalt has two options for inflation so no issues there. Can also run off 12v. Cheers

    • Mind sharing the link for the board?

  • There are a couple of models by Tahwalhi - what's the difference aside from the size like 10'4 or 10'6? Some are also identical size, specs appear the same.

    • I asked in store about the identically sized (10'6") $249 one's. The friendly staff were adament that the only difference wascolour scheme and number of bungee points for securing backpack or other stuff (4 vs 6 points)

  • Just putting it out there as another option that Kmart has their SUP again for $149.
I got one last year when it was on clearance for $129 and no complaints (only have a Kings to compare it against). Was around Feb that it went on clearance, probably a good chance will happen again this year.
