I'd buy that for a dollar
I bought it on PS5 a couple of weeks ago, and despite some bugs (a lot of which seem to be PS5 specific), found it to be a huge amount of fun. I've never seen the movies, but found the game to be extremely compelling, as long as you are fine with a little bit of AA jankiness.
Do yourself a favour and watch the original 1984 Director's Cut, then maybe the TV show if you're still a fan. If you really want more, the second one wasn't too bad. If you want to un-fan yourself, watch #3 and then the horrid reboot haha.

Hand on my heart, I meant to type 1987, but I think because I had just played Robocop Vs Terminator, I had Terminator on the brain!
Reboot was pretty good in my opinion. It's the same actor as the one who plays Ed Baldwin in For All Mankind.
That's interesting to hear. I played it and enjoyed it - but the main reason was that I felt it portrayed the first movie really well, really created that world and did a good job on it (and kept it fun). Still a bit rough around the edges, but fun enough to play.
The only thing I'd like to see is better voice acting / direction and animation, you could really see their budget was thin there. Game actually had a lot of really smart, funny writing let down by actors who either didn't understand or weren't directed well enough to nail properly. Peter Weller as RoboCop was perfect though, like no time had passed at all.
Game is prime candidate for a definitive edition, oh and give us New Game+!

Played this a few weeks ago, there's a second critical point on the body apart from the head you can aim at, it's the dick. (With a special death animation)
Which makes it very faithful and canonical.
