Bose is too over priced. Surround and subwoofer had to purchase separately.
In contrast, the Samsung has surround speakers and subwoofer included and has much better Atmos effect. Very good value indeed.
Only Sony A9 and perhaps Sonos can beat this system, at much higher cost.

I guess my 5.1 system is actually 15.1 because each of the speakers other than the sub has 3 drivers.
A channel isn't just a speaker.
I realise this. However this is unequivocally a soundbar that physically covers only the area that the front three speakers in a 5.1 setup could cover, two rear speakers and a subwoofer. Atmos is counted as .4 so there seem to be 6 speakers missing to get you to "11.1.4" without relying on dubious claims about fancy ways of bouncing sound around the place.
Here's what actual 11.1 plus Atmos would look like… I don't see most of those speakers in the images.

Edit: to add to this, "11.1" isn't actually a real technical format, it's a marketing hype expression of the idea that Atmos works with sound sources in an imagined 3D space. 5.1.4 is a standard configuration for Atmos, after which it theoretically has infinite 'channels' if you count 'anywhere it sounds like a noise is coming from' as a channel.
I'm not knocking sound bars, which have come a long way and represent great value for money, but IMHO these numbers are intended to confuse people into thinking that this is superior to a proper multi-speaker setup, which it absolutely is not.
Dumb question, would this play well with LG? Can I just use it like any other soundbar or does Samsung lock certain features for its own tvs?

I looked into it:
1) Cant use Samsug QSymphony, (pairs tv speakers into the mix for more sound, who cares tv speakers suck anyway)
2) Cant connect soundbar via wifi directly to tv (who cares, use hdmi anyway)
3) must download smarterthings app to install updates (need to anyway but if have sammy tv ul already have this)
Internet says itll work fine on lg. make sure you have cec eARC for ez
biggest issue is power cables are short, 1m, looking for replacement because im not hiring sparky to install outlets for rear speakers
