Alright/

How's these LEGO Tiny Plants Building Set. Tiny plants, eh? Not sure what the big deal is, but I suppose if you're into miniature gardening, it might be your thing.

Supposedly, you can build these little plant things out of LEGO bricks. I mean, who needs real plants when you can have plastic ones, right? But hey, at least you won't have to worry about watering them.

And get this, it's LEGO, so you know it's gonna be fun to build. But let's not get too excited. We're not constructing skyscrapers or anything. It's more like making little green blobs out of plastic bricks.

So, if you're looking for a quirky little LEGO set to add to your collection, the Tiny Plants Building Set might be worth a go. Just don't expect it to bring your garden to life.

Thank you! I have had this on backorder with Lego for a month and with shipping it was $35 more.

The description reads like OP asked a LLM to give a snarky tongue in cheek overview of the product. Not complaining, just commenting 😅

This looks like a semi sequel to the succulents collection, and hey, I'm on board with that!

    • Pretty sure this guy uses ChatGPT for all his posts :D

    • +3

Cheers. Sometimes a bit of tongue-in-cheek overview makes the description more memorable, right? And hey, if this Tiny Plants set feels like a semi-sequel to the succulents collection, count me in! Who knew plastic plants could spark such excitement?

You're supposed to play with it, not throw it away.

My parents still have LEGO from 30 years ago that are still played with fairly regularly by grandkids. If you're sending LEGO to landfill you're doing it wrong…

  • Big W everyday price is $78 so better if waiting for a 20% off sale there plus possibly double dipping with cashback

  • Got one for my wife. thanks!

Wow, what the community thinks is a bargain and what I think is a bargain differ greatly on this occasion!

$75 for a handful of pieces does not seem like a great deal to me.

This one's besides the point, but I'll mention it anyway: I love LEGO, but I absolutely hate specialised LEGO pieces, to me it defeats the entire purpose of LEGO. You might as well injection molding the whole thing in one go with no assembly required.

    • +5

Fair play, mate. I mean, who needs a handful of blocks when you could get yourself a decent pair of shoes or a few pizzas, right? Seems like the community's got some different idea of what constitutes a bargain. But hey, each to their own, I suppose.

    • Think outside the box, man. Don't be such a square,.man. ;-)

Seriously, I agree. LEGO are taking the piss with these bespoke kits. Just try to make something else with them.

This isn't the set to make those kinds of complaints about, my man.
The botanical sets have been shining examples of creative part usage, and to my knowledge have introduced no new specialised pieces just for their purposes.
This set in particular uses clamshell pieces as laceleaf flowers, newsboy hats as jade plant leaves, purple butterflies as false shamrock leaves, pith helmets as pitcher plant flowers and mopheads for their bodies, hairbrushes as red sundew leaves and epaulettes as the flowers. There's a lot more I haven't listed too.
Also, this set has 758 pieces, which is a bit more than a handful. At this price, it's downright decent.

It's almost a single-use plastic model kit. That seems to be the strategy now. I wouldn't buy one for my kids because they'll only use it once.

        • +4

It's LEGO, you can make whatever you want. check out rebrickable for alternate builds made by others if you're bored with this design. Or just keep it on display - like intended.

Also, for sets like this, your kids aren't LEGOs target audience, hence the 18+ branding on it. It's a display piece, not a play piece.

Was going to buy then had a vision of me stepping on a Lego cactus piece in the middle of the night.

    • Did you also get slapped by a very hairy gardener like in my dream?

  • I want a more complex carnivorous plants only set

Regular price is $78 at Kmart too. As mentioned, better to wait for a decent sale elsewhere.
