  • Excellent price for a cracking telly, good find OP 👍

  • TV numptie here. I've struck Sony off my list due to the last 2 not lasting longer than 2 years. Are LG any good? I'm still haunted by the fact they used to be Goldstar before they changed their name. I tried a Hisense as they have a long warranty but their GUI was horrendous. Worse than Aldi and anything Kogan. TIA

    • +1

      Lucky Goldstar = LG

I had panel for C9 replaced outside warranty at no cost to me. The replacement panel looks much brighter but idk.

      • Wow, when and how did you manage that? Mine has developed annoying dark spots on the panel and I've all but written it off at this point.

        • Not sure if they would fix that but call them up?

I had a red vertical line popup. It was solid red on black but varied when watching content. They had me do manual refresh twice a day for 2 weeks or so. If you google red vertical line, you will see I'm not the only one with this issue.

I also noticed some dead pixels but dont know if they before or after manual refresh cycle.

They came over with brand new panel and it took them around 30min to replace. The people did replacement were 3rd party contractor.

        • Mine has a tonne of black dead pixels around the borders. Doubt it will be covered even under ACL being ~4 years old at this stage…

@ozb88: I’ve seen LG replace six year old OLED panels for burn in, worth a shot

      • +2

WHAT THE HELL.. LG DOESNT STAND FOR LIFE'S GOOD!?!??!

    • +6

I've found LG really good when it comes to reliability and honouring the ACL by doing out of warranty repairs without any real fuss. Samsung on the other hand, have been horrendous - wouldn't touch their appliances with a ten foot pole (their smartphones are fine though)

      • Well, their smartphones used to explode as well until they figured people couldn't bring a TV onto an airplane but they surely could bring a phone.

      • +1

Yeah stay away from Samsung. They don't give a damn about ACL .talking based on my recent experience!

    • With LED panels, LG use cheap LED arrays for budget TVs.
Not sure about their premium range though.

My LG C7 OLED from 2017 is still going strong and looks as good as day one.

My LG B8 is going well. Life is good.

  • Cheers that's the sort of thing I like to hear

I want one of these bad boys so bad. The RTINGS review is nuts, it must look phenomenal.

    • I got it a month ago but did not get this 15% discount. I doubt there is any way for JB to retroactively give me that deal…

      • You’d be surprised, they’re pretty good.

        Or.

Buy a whole new set and then take the new tv back under the old receipt.

        • Or what grounds? Surely the TV has been opened.
They do honour price drops within 2 weeks though.

      • I bought it recently as well for $3500 with the soundbar after pricematching with appliances central, down from $5200 something. The same day TV went on sale and I called JB requesting them to adjust my order to match the latest price and soundbar to the order. They said that the only way to do was to cancel the current order (+ wait a few business days for the refund) and then place a new order. I told them that the TV was booked for delivery the next day and if I could use the same slot for the new TV order, to which they said no. In short it was becoming too much of a hassle for me to cancel the current order and place a new one as I used giftcards so I just decided to keep the TV at $3500.

Because it involved adding a soundbar to the order, it technically didn't fit their pricedrop criteria so other than requesting, I didn't really have a ground for further negotiation.

  • Anyone knows how to get a perks code for this deal?

Cheers! It worked. Thank you so much. May nice things happen to you 💚

No problem I wasn't going to use it, I hope you enjoy the new TV

    Cheaper on Ebay

    • -1

      Got a link? I can't see a 65" G3 on Ebay

      • -5

        I just searched OLED65G3PSA

$3,099 - $185 (voucher showing on the page)

        • +2

oh, that result wouldn't really be comparable to this deal.
It's a private seller selling a single TV.

  • +1

Have a G2 65inch. Should’ve gone for the next size up. Oh well!!

    • Totally agree, having gone from 55 to 65 then 75, I wouldn't go any smaller than 75 for any possible future purchase, Just seems that 75-77 is the sweet spot for a main living room, Room size permitting of cause.

  • Pretty good deal

  • +3

My code for whoever wants it, wife won't allow another OLED in the house

Looks like JB removed the SN4 Soundbar so you can't get this deal.

    • The soundbar is probably a deal specified by LG so unlikely that JB had the right to retract the offer. Report JB to the ACL.

Edit: might just be a stock level thing and you gotta pick a different soundbar now

  • I was waiting for this after missing the S95 deal last week. Good find OP.

    • me too - but the S95 was $1000 less - stunning deal as the G3 isn't $1000 better than the S95C

  • Any deals for the 75/77?

@buckethat: Well EPP through my work place, perhaps have higher discounts, not sure.

Bought this after I sat too long on the s95c deal from a few days ago, getting it delivered tomorrow.

              • @Bargainizer: Ahh yeah you def have different discount tiers. Any chance you can check how much the 77" is going for with your discount. Kind of curious what the cheapest they go for.

                • +1

                  @buckethat: 55" - $2,939.30
                  65" - $2,589.30
                  77" - $4,899.30
                  83" - $10,999.00

Ok super weird that 65" is cheaper than the 55" 😂

                  • +1

@Bargainizer: Boy that's an amazing price for the 77".. and holy the jump to "83 is over double the price.

Thanks mate, hopefully I'll be able to grab a 77" when it goes on clearance before the G4 is out in stores.

                  • @Bargainizer: If I could access the price for the 77" I'd jump on that. I have been looking for some time but no luck yet.

              • @Bargainizer: Where do you work lol fantastic price for 77!

    • Showing $3,329.10?

Waiting for a deal on the 65 c845.

    • +1

I picked one up last night for $1590 with the soundbar/perks deal and am hoping to return the soundbar for a $150 off

      • You can return the soundbar? Wouldn't they then claim the deal is no longer valid?

    • 75" is the one I'm looking for. In C745 or C845. Sucks when the deals aren't there when you're finally ready to buy haha

  • Slightly different quality..but how are the Metz OLED owners going with their sets?

Was hoping we would have a lot more OLED options by now (Alibaba OEM 65s are around $600US).

  • Waiting for 65 C3 bundle to come down to $2.3k like last year!

Excellent TV. I bought one 2 weeks ago for $3500 with no soundbar :(.
I originally purchased TCL C845 75” after reading great reviews and the advice from the JB salesman but I have so many issues with that TV. The TV was laggy, the screen went blank for a second between scene changes, screen brightness fluctuated at random times etc. probably mine was a faulty unit. JB was good with returns so I returned it within 2 weeks of purchasing and bought LG G3 65. The difference is chalk and cheese. Absolutely no issues with LG G3 and the TV is super responsive.

    • With returns of a big TV.. Does JB Hifi get someone to pick it up? Or do you need to bring it to the store yourself?

      • +1

I threw the original box out when I bought the TV as I wasn’t expecting any issues. I contacted JB by filling out a form available on their contact page. They responded via email asking for some pictures and because I didn’t have the original box, they booked an installer to come, who brought an empty box with them and took the TV away. The whole process was easy and I applaud JB for that. As per the process, JB is supposed to organise pick up for faulty bulky items.

    • +1

This is what people on OzB need to understand, whilst TCL is excellent bang for buck, they are plagued with software problems.

  • +2

$2,756 after returning the soundbar, well done to those who pounced.
