The free night will be available based on availability at each hotel and blackout dates. Considering this is when the Matildas are playing, it'll be considered a blackout date.
Yeap, only the Mercure Brisbane Garden City is available with the Stay Plus benefit. All the other Brisbane hotels are twice their normal rates and aren't allowing you to pay the difference between the current rate and the Stay Plus deduction.

I rocked up to a booking before in HK and realised that the membership card I picked up was an expired one (instead of the current one) and they were not going to let me check-in. I did have to argue with them politely for about 15 minutes before they allowed me in.
It was my fault and I know it's part of their conditions that the membership card be presented at check-in, but does anyone understood the logic behind it? The room was booked online after logging in with the membership details and my passport obviously matches the name on the booking. I also had the printout of the booking confirmation with all the details behind it. Could they not just look it up on the system?

I have no idea, to be honest. My experience was just before Covid so I'm not sure if anything has changed. I argued politely based on logic in broken cantonese (and definitely not in a condescending tone).
I guess the best thing to do is to call them up to find out. Although, there's no guarantee that they'll give you accurate information - ie, the person on the phone might say it's okay, but the person at check-in might say it's not.
I've never been asked for my physical card. I just show them the cars via the app.

Technically you can't use 2 free nights for a stay although I have been successful in the past making 2 bookings (although the free nights were in different names).

Yes, I have used free nights at the Sofitel Singapore a couple of times but at short notice & around school holidays they tend to have limited availability for free nights in the better hotels.

Only 3 x Ibis & 1 x Grand Mercure Roxy available free on that night.
Just for one night staying at Ibis, Novotel or Grand Mercure saves from $100 to $150 compared to Pullman. That's half of Accor + membership already.

Most of them aren't even available at paid rates (sold out?) let alone free nights sorry - you've left your run way too late on this for a peak spot in peak season.
Even with one free night that is very pricy accommodation. Surely OP can do better outside of Accor.

Nothing for Banyan Tree for those dates.
Sofitel Bangkok is $262 for the total stay for those nights (including Stay Plus).

No, the $262 AUD was on top assuming you only have 1 Stay Plus Night to use.
I doubt there would be anything else on top if you used two. There is the possibility that Stay Plus for one date is $0 extra and Stay Plus on the other date is +$x extra, but I doubt this would be the case here (worst case scenario, could be a delta of $50 or so).

There are around 15 properties with a free night on the 23rd, including both Sofitels.
Let me know if you have a particular place in mind or want me to check the other dates (which are likely to be similar being that far in the future).
The main one I find is never free is the Pullman Quay Grand.

Hi there, just piggybacking on this - does that mean there is nothing available for the 24th? Looking for something in CBD, ideally one of the Sofitels.
Also, it looks like Pullman Quay Grand is specifically excluded from the Stay Plus free night, as per https://www.accorplus.com/au/benefits-exceptions/
I didn't check other dates when I found so many on the 23rd.
Anyway, I have now checked the 24th Aug & there are around 14 properties around Sydney CBD with a free night on the 24th, including the Sofitel Wenworth (but not Sofitel Darling Harbour).

You will have to make 2 separate bookings as technically you aren't supposed to stay two consecutive free nights but people have done this with 2 separate bookings & then ask the hotel to link the bookings to stay in the same room.

G'day guys, I have taken advantage of the Accor Explorer membership with the Hong Kong VPN previously when it was only 1088HKD. I am travelling to Brisbane on the weekend to see the Matilda's with a mate, and I was planning on signing her up (albeit it's not 1588 HKD) and I was wondering could anyone check hotel availability before I do? If I recall the free night wasn't just use as you want, it had it's own nights. The dates will be the 12th - 13th
