I have mentioned 3rd generation dude

      • +2

i'm just clarifying for those who aren't aware what generation the New New iPad is…

    • +10

I agree with jv. You can't call 3rd Generation "New" anymore because of the actually impending new model. The title should just say "3rd Gen iPad".

      • +3

But that is in fact what Apple called it. The model hasn't changed, why should its name?

Apple should never have called it that in the first place if they didn't foresee problems like this.

        • Well,i relly think that was a really stupid name they gave, because they might end up with a newer ipad, newest ipad and so on.

        • +1

why all the companies cannot make life simple like ipad 1 ipad 2 ipad 3 ipad 4 ipad 5

    • +4

Can't believe that I am saying this… but jv has a valid point.

      • +2

Title has been changed from The New iPad to just "iPad 3rd Gen" to reduce confusion.

Some people may not have heard of the impending new release and calling this "new" would imply it is the latest/greatest version.

Good price. I think the Retina display version of the 3rd gen iPad is good enough. Considering the new iPad Mini uses the same processor as the iPad 2, so the new processor in the iPad 4 Gen may not be all that necessary.

If you buy directly from Apple, it is only $419 shipped (iPad 3rd Gen). FYI, iPAD3 is being sold on Refurbished Page.

Hardly Normal did it again. :b

    • That's because it's refurbished.

      • +1

not really… just excess stock to make room for 4th gen ipad and still comes with warranty

        • +2

How would you know it didn't get returned and repaired?

        • I bought a refurbished macbook a while ago. It comes with blank white box. Macbook itself looks new. Not ever a finger print on its body (it was white unibody). Everything was like new. Comes with 1 year warranty as well.

        • +1

I know what you're saying, but it still isn't new. That macbook you used could of been used by someone for 11 months before it had a fault and needed to be returned.

        • +1

until any ozb bought the ipad 3rd refub and confirm the boxes and ios inside, we still not sure.. but yeah, too many for normal refub in this case. usually refub section only has 1-2 model and limited quant, this time all model of ipad 3rd are available and lot stocks

  • If it is new, its a good price. There are so many new lines coming up…hard to keep up!

  • Saw a big "New iPad Clearance" poster at Target Indooroopilly tonight, and I believe they meant the 3rd Gen iPad. Not an apple fan so didn't pay attention to the price. For ppl who is interested it may worth to check it out.

  • As someone who was looking forward to offloading their ipad for a win8 tablet, these prices make me a sad panda but for consumers certainly a great time to grab a tablet/consumption device.

    same price @ bigw http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/ipad/new-ipad/bpnBIGW_000…

edit: sorry, need to go to bed obviously, it's 468, so hn is cheaper.

If you were him you would think exactly the same as him.

    • -2

      Even at $300, still a rip-off

Bentan77, I dont get ur reply.

Larlad, yeh it is, thats why i sell them.
Do you think it would be a good idea to put them on this site, in the selling section for 400?

Would I get alot of sales?

        • +1

Would I get alot of sales?

          What do you think?

        • Well I personally think yes.

But -4 votes doesnt say so……. so?

  • -5

I feel I should down vote on principal for the crappy/scammy nature of a model refresh coming 6 months after a new one

    • exactly which definition of 'scam' is apple performing by releasing a new model?

      • A fraudulent business scheme;
      • deprive of by deceit;

Releasing an updated product is not crappy or scummy..

    • And if they dont update, then someone's going to say they are falling behind … Guess technology companies are going to have to develop the automatic update. :)

  • Six months is a long time in electronics , you wait until a new version of both the pad and mini come in march/april.

  • I have a brand new one to sell in box for $400 with receipt full 12 mth warranty - will also post in forum

    • ill take it, get in contact…somehow!

      • Sorry slow to respond - pm me

  • Can someone tell me if the 4th generation is the mini? Thanks. (FFS - why does it have to be so hard!)

    • No it's not the mini.

      • Thanks. Does anyone know if Apple is ONLY going to call the mini by that name?

        • They probably will. They've decided to keep it "simpler" by ditching the numbers… which I think has the unintended side effect of people getting confused on which device is newer or older.

        • Thanks

        • That's good news for sellers, people have been selling their ipad 1 at ipad 3 prices because of the confusion.

  • I don't get it…this outgoing model is $456, but the new ipad 4 is like $539 direct from Apple. for that $83 difference, I'd rather buy the ipad 4 with an improved A6x processor. No deal for me…Not that I have an ipad ever b4…

  • just went to TGG to use their price guarantee. I bought one iPad3 exactly 30 days ago for $497. thanks Op.

  • Is it a good time to go for a ipad 3? omg..

  • Guys, I will be having very cheap prices for the Mini when it comes out. I wouldn't recommend buying the iPad 3 at this time. (If you want to, I have them for around $400 for this same deal)

I will reply to this reply when I have posted the prices in the forum, please stay tuned. All stock is Australian-based and come with the box/warranty.
