192x Ibuprofen 200mg Pain, Discomfort, Migraine Relief Tablets $13.99 Delivered @ PharmacySavings

990

Hi Ozbargainers,

I've had a few emails asking for pain relief in bulk, not allot of movement in the wholesale market in this segment at this time of year, but I have a carton of Trust ibuprofen I am happy to clear out to those who have asked. I understand if you scavenge around at Woolies you can find budget (non coated) ibuprofen for around 6-7c per tab, but for a few cents more you can get arguably a higher grade tab (coated) deal delivered for a few cents more without the scavenger hunt required.

EDIT:
I didn't think this deal would take off like a rocket - More demand than supply which I was not expecting:

Trust Brand Exhausted, So Ozbargain peeps don't miss out - I still have Pharmacy Action Ibuprofen in stock (same active ingredient, different supplier) - link updated to reflect Pharmacy Action brand, same price. https://www.tga.gov.au/resources/artg/222147 (Pharmacy Action)

Item: Trust Pharmacy Action Ibuprofen 200mg (192x Tablets - Film Coated)
Price: $13.99
Exp: 01/2025

For those looking for Cetirizine on its own, there are still many lines from this deal still running:

  • thanks, got some. I don't use it, as I can't due to stomach issues, but my husband can and does use ibuprofen.

    • OP when is the pantoprazole deal coming?

      • why not get a script and pay less than a qtr of the off the shelf price for the same thing?
PPIs are a ripoff without a script

Unless a Doctor has told you to, don't use Ibuprofen:

    - If you are aged over 65 years or over;

    • +1

can i ask why ? just wondering as i do use ibuprofen

      • -1

May be they are suspecting, people over 65 years of age can be on regular medications and these may interact.

        • +3

65 year old kidneys don't handle it as well as younger kidneys.

Ibuprofen is also associated with kidney and liver damage.

      • +6

Aside from the above warning on the back of every pack,

        Stomach ulcers.

It's also associated with an increased risk of stroke and heart attack.

I realize it's not what people want to hear if they're trying to manage pain, but no one ever reads the fine print.

        • -2

It's also associated with an increased risk of stroke and heart attack.

That depends on the dosage. Even paracetamol can be lethal at higher dosage. But usually avoid taking any OTC for mild pain unless necessary and appropriate.

        • +1

Cox 2 inhibitor don't take if you have heart issues like Atrial fibrillation. Your friendly chemist will warn you.

      • Username checks out

    • +1

      You are confused.

Paracetamol, is primarily metabolized by the liver.
      Ibuprofen is not.

      • They are both metabolized in the liver, but Ibuprofen is more associated with kidney damage, while Paracetamol is more associated with liver damage.

      • Every drug is metabolised by the liver… LOL Cytochrome P450.

It's just that Paracetamol is more toxic to the hepatocytes (liver cells).

Ibuprofen is worse for people that are elderly, kidney disease or have heart issues/failure.

    • This is a fair point. And it does say that on the box.

IMO (for whatever it's worth) ibuprofen should be an S3 medication that requires consultation with a pharmacist. It interacts with quite a few commonly used medications. It can do alot more harm than other medications kept behind the counter.

  • Thanks!!

  • The clinical trial I'm in ends soon, imma take so much ibuprofen when it's finally over 🧘🏼

    • Mr. AustriaBargain, you do realize this may result in hair loss, giddiness and the loss of equilibrium?

      • Yeah, yeah, yeah, just gimme the serum.

  • Cheaper than Rafen I think

I keep forgetting how many suppliers are on OzBargain just handing out deals

  • 2024 looks like it is gonna be a painful year! Bought 5! Thanks OP!

EDIT - Please note I didn't think I'd sell 100 boxes in around 1 hour, I have updated the deal to reflect PHARMACY ACTION BRAND ibuprofen 200mg - same price.

    • +2

You should know not to underestimate OzBargainers by now Jase!

    • How much are OxyContin tablets?

      • If you've reached the safety net, have a script and pickup instore, very little.

N.B. Kirkland Ibuprofen is slightly cheaper on eBay from people who import it from USA to resell. However 192× is probably a more realistic quantity to consume in a reasonable period of time than 500×.

Fake edit: Coles is cheaper, $1.55 for 24×, the equivalent of $12.40 for 192× (plus you earn flybuys.)

    • +3

Coles = Not delivered, not film coated, also scavenger hunt to get stock ;-)

      • What are the benefits of film coated??

        • doesn't get stuck half way down your throat

        • easier to swallow, helps protect your throat, and to a certain extend the stomach lining.

      • I have bought Coles brand for years, always has been coated.

  • Ordered 1 Thanks 🙏

  • -3

Cheaper in coles or woolworths $1.55 X 24 tablet

      • These people don't care about quality at all. They just whinge about price.

        • @nikoris It's almost as if they're ozbargainers or something 🤔

  • What’s the benefit of the coated ones?

    • +10

These guys is actually mostly just one guy, if you received a dispatch confirmation email, that's when your item shipped and I do blame Australia Post if you haven't received your item yet. If you didn't receive a dispatch confirmation you may have provided an address type not compatible with the postage method selected and we should have reached out letting you know this. Any lost items are replaced, but counting back the days, if your item has been in the postal system for around 13 working days - it is later than typical, but probably not late enough to get too worked up. If the item doesn't arrive next week please yell out via PM.

        • +11

I'm not looking to pick a fight - more looking to assist clients in understanding one of the reasons we are cheaper than many all others. Tracking (satchel) and express post is available at a cost but many items we sell default to free untracked envelope freight at checkout (ie you selected untracked postage at checkout), this means your item is flat packed into an envelope and ships as an envelope item with no tracking. This actually causes me allot of extra work - or in the example of this deal, cost - as I have to pay a Pharmacist in our store circa $75an hour to pack these deals with me today between other clients, but it saves you (the client) as the savings are passed straight through. Its not an excuse, more a fact that a $14 item which includes delivery, simply can't exist if the postage component (satchel) is between $8.5X and $10.5Xish to send depending on postal code. Various postage options are available but based on my ebay feedback rating/comments 1:250ish clients don't want to understand how the savings (for them) are largely achieved. ie/ They chose the cheapest slowest delivery, then complain in feedback about lack of tracking, slow delivery etc.

Ozbargain is a wonderful community for buyers (I am one as well) and sellers, but its very hard for us (as a community) to entice and keep reps, THERE SHOULD BE MORE REPS, every product on every shelf in every store has a rep, we need them on here - <<REPS PLEASE POST>> - Rep posts is what will bring the deals in huge available quantities to our community - but many/most/nearly all reps eventually get burned by literal angry hatred in emails, calls, PM's etc just being thrown at them, in many instances for matters sometimes outside of their control.
I know sometimes this sounds a bit like a rant mixed with a sob story, but if we can achieve a higher rate of rep posts on the site, I think as buyers we're going to be far, far better off,

  • 24 pk Aldi $1.49

Working in the medical field now I want to emphasise the warnings given by others - these are not for long term use. And if you have long term musculoskeletal pain, see a physio - not a GP. Bulk packs like this should be banned as they encourage people to use it like candy.

    • +1

Yes after my wife got stomach ulcers from using ibuprofen i am very wary and always only use with food.

    • What is classified as long term use? I use it once every fortnight

    • -4

Ya should report and get OP banned

    • I think it would be a good idea for Ozbargain to require label warnings to be produced with marketing posts.

    • +1

Yeah I don't understand what the point of this deal here? You can buy a 24 pack for $1.50 from any supermarket which technically works out cheaper.

But more importantly these are only good for a year. Why would you want 192 of these?

  • Thanks OP….got some.I take these to a remote fishing destination and give them to the clinic there.

  • Any chance naproxen might be avail? I found works better for me

    • That’s stronger than Ibuprofen but needs a script last I checked.

      • I think it was, but now OTC. Can buy from chem warehouse also

      • I’m a man and use period pain pain killers.. oh my

  • Cheaper at ALDI, $1.50 / 24 pack with the sugary coating.

  • Are these good for hangovers? I've been taking these once a month for hangovers and im worried if i did any long term damage

  • -1

Arent these cancerous? Paracetamol is better safer painkiller.

  • -1

My wife takes this for period pain monthly. IS SHE GOING TO DIE?!!

    • ah, no. But she should take as per instructions, and not exceed the doses mentioned on the pack, and I would also suggest she either takes it with milk or after food. If she starts getting stomach pain after taking them, then discontinue using them, as it is irritating the lining of the stomach.

      • Thank you Dr.

        • might not be a doctor, but I know what I am talking about. I can never take it again. If I even have one, or even a product with it in it, like throat lozenges or sprays, I get a bad pain in the stomach within the hour. My stomach can't even tolerate that any more. Not that I took so many, but because of other issues with my stomach over the years, now I can't take this. So, I am now stuck with paracetamol for any sort of pain.
She can take them, no probs, but just ensure she protects her stomach.

          • @souths123: Sorry to hear that. She doesn’t take it for long when she does.

            • +1

@Fatboy74: still, get her to be aware of the potential issues with taking ibuprofen. I always try to tell my daughter as well.

    • If she were to fall pregnant , caution would be warranted.

  • I appreciate your ibuprofen deals. Thanks.

  • +1

Not after ibuprofen but sending an upvote and good wishes your way, the times that I have purchased (mainly hayfexo) it's always been delivered in a reasonable time at a price incomparable with anywhere else.

  • Careful with IBUPROFEN! WARNING
My wife developed tinnitus (ear ringing) which seems now to be a lifelong condition, after taking this product and research showed that it IS a potential side affect with this product.

  • +1

Buying the same amount at the price coles charge for 24 packs is cheaper.

    • Yes agreed, but as mentioned in the description and a few times above:
I understand if you scavenge around at Woolies you can find budget (non coated) ibuprofen for around 6-7c per tab, but for a few cents more you can get arguably a higher grade tab (coated) deal delivered for a few cents more without the scavenger hunt required.

  • I have bought Coles for years, always has been coated and currently only $0.06 per each.

Picked up in store or with a home delivery, your price $0.07 per ea does not match in same for same price.

I live on these and the bulk order showed promise until I did the math.

    Curious to understand….what I am I missing?

    • I am aware ibuprofen is available at Colesworth for around $0.06 per tablet. Often this is un-coated (not in your experience) and stock may be scarce (ie/ not available, have to hunt around, and usually when you need the product, its not there and peeps end up buying the originator brand at 10x the price) - This post was/is for the item delivered.

Many Ozb clients are happy (happyish) to pay $0.01 (one cent) more per tablet to have the item delivered to their door - some Ozb clients would rather save a few cents, hunt around and collect the product themselves, clearly I can't argue with this, people value their time differently.

It's a bit of a funny one as by volume ibuprofen (online) is one of our best sellers, which tells me there are plenty of peeps happy to pay the few cents more to have the item delivered.

  • same as advil basically?

    • yeah both are ibuprofen

      • Advil kicks in faster though? Or same?

        • same i believe

  • oh whoops
