Emirates are having a Singapore to Europe sale:

Travel period is January to May. Highlights are (fares all converted to AUD):

  • Colombo $295
  • Paris $715
  • Frankfurt $760
  • Amsterdam $780
  • Rome/Barcelona $840
  • Casablanca $840

Emirates is the 8th best airline(Qantas is 15) in the world.

So my test itinerary:
Note, these are Scoot's non-sale prices. More than likely Scoot fares will go on sale thus reducing the price.

Jan 22: SYD-SIN
$199

Jan 23-Feb 11: SIN-Paris
$715.30

Feb 12: SIN-SYD
$179

Total $1093

Cheapest flight via Adioso flying from Sydney via China: $1583

Google ITA Software tells me around $1572 again via China.

$1100 to Paris with a stopover in SIN is a good deal especially as you will be flying on a top tier airline for half of the trip.

Wow good deal! I got sale fares from air france for roughly the same route (sin-germany) for almost three hundred more. Bear in mind you'll want to buy a luggage ticket with scoot. Also if a scoot delay causes you to miss your connection it'll be tough luck. And most travel insurance won't cover missed connections due to delays.

  • Why have you compared Emirates to Qantas? Emirates is 2 classes ahead. I had a cousin fly Qantas and the non-veg food ran out only to be told, you better take what you get!

Emirates was equally crap ~10 years ago when i had to wait an hour for water but have improved heaps since then.

    • Word of warning about Scoot, we sat at the back of the plane and had to wait 3 HOURS before offered any water… but if you are going to fly with them, wait until they have their next $99 each way sale.

But nonetheless a very cheap price not seen since the likes of Air Asia X.

If you're flying budget you'd be better off demanding water, don't expect them to come to you. If you don't go in there expecting any fancy service then you'll be happy (with the cheap fare).

But seriously dayum this is a cheap EU flight.

nice fair shame about the rule restrictions. Maximum stay 1 month :(

    • Once you're there, you may as well stay for a few weeks, I say.

What I see is if you Scoot is late, you will be Scooting back:(

    • make sure you have travel insurance..

  • tried to check prices on jan 17 - 31 flight for next year, sydney to rome, came up with $2000 return!? am i doing something wrong?

    • +1

Yes, the fare prices are from Singapore to Europe, not from Australia. You need to book a separate leg via Scoot (or Jetstar via Pricematch) from Sydney to Singapore.

      • ah ha! got it now! wasn't clear in your title mate. thought from sydney to casablanca for $840.

      • ahhh yes yes thanks i understand now!

  • SOLD!

  • scoot doesnt fly to Perth, what are my options?

    • Tiger Airways?

    • Try Jetstar. Adioso is listing flights from $217 one way.

    • Thanks Neil and cluster… Too bad tiger and jetstar dont offer competitive rates anymore…

    • as long as jetstar is flying the same day as another airline that is cheaper (i.e. tiger). You can price beat by 10%. This is the only reason i would every fly jetstar anymore.

      • Competing flight has to be within +/-1 hr of substitute Jetstar flight or something like that.

  • I couldn't find "Casablanca $840 " as you mentioned above in the deal.
What are the conditions apart from 'Travel period is January to May'?

  • I searched for Singapore -> Barcelona, and got this

$1060 rather than $840. Am I missing something?
edit: Prices are in Singapore Dollars. $1060 === $840 AUD

  • PARIS, HERE I COME!!!

  • Great price. But I assume SIN-EUROPE? all require another stopover in UAE, in addition to the Singapore stop?

  • Hi Neil, how long do Emirates have these prices on sale for? :)

    • +1

No clue. I only saw the post on Australian Frequent Flyer. A lot of the members there are quite well connected in the airline industry and are good at picking up these sales. I had a look at the Emirates website and can't find any mention of the sale.

  • Yeah, I had a look on Emirates too & no mention of the sale, but I did get the sale price when I typed in a Singapore-Amsterdam rtn flight. Thx for link to Frequent Flyer, I will follow it up with Flight Centre & see what they can come up with as far as cheap rtn flights Perth-Singapore. Cheers :)

  • Awesome find OP…now to find a cheap flight from Syd to Sin..anyone got any good links (apart from those mentioned above)? I am looking around end Dec early Jan, and its seems its gonna almost cost more to fly return Singapore leg than to Europe itself!!!! (yeah i know its peak)
    Cheers

  • The prices are coming up at eoughly $200 bucks dearer…SING to FRANK is like $960…anybody else had this or am i searching wrong? Assuming emirates are putting up the price due to popularity? Thanks :)

  • Ahh I just converted it into AUD, thanks!

Thanks OP for posting this special.
Just got back from Europe and very tempted to go again next May. Problem is finding a cheap way to get from Melbourne to Singapore. Scoot don't fly from Melbourne, and tacking on a cheap domestic flight to Sydney raises the issue of syncronising several flights (4 flights to Paris with 3 different airlines) while avoiding long stopovers.
Also be aware, these appear to be non-refundable tickets with Emirates.

darn it..I got all excited too. I used to live in Perth and its only a couple hundred dollars to fly to singapore using tiger. But now I am in melb it seems to be $800 return??!!!

      • I live in Perth, so this made it 1200 return to Barcelona for me (Tiger to/from Singapore) and that was without looking hard at all. Bargain! Especially with the quality of the Emirates legs included for that price and hopefully an A380 out of Dubai on the way back to Singapore. Thanks Neil!

  • wow absolute bargain! thanks!

  • Time for the expired icon I think…

    • Yep, just tried it and it now says $1,169.41 AUD. Hope everyone got some good flights. Marked as Expired.
