  • Ah right the new Tokyo Borderless opened recently.

    • i think its still a couple days til it opens but yeah itll be interesting to see how it differs. i think there's a couple new displays and then most of the old ones were moved in to the new home, if not all of them.

Hopefully no barefoot water exhibits. Unless you're into dirty foot water 🤢

        • +1

At least the one I went to they force you to walk through a special cleaning water thing at the start.

  • How does one book for much later in the year…?

    • you can't book later than the final date specified for the venues that use a date picker in the ticket booking process. some others have a 180 day expiry. so if you want to book teamlab planets for november, for example, you're out of luck.

      • Found the issue not just with teamlab, most themeparks in japan have the same thing, can't book more than say 3 months in advance, when you book direct with the park, no problem to go 6+ months in advance.

This date limited practice really make Klook deals pretty useless for most.

        • +1

it's annoying - i can sympathise as im travelling in may so this deal isnt much good to me - but it's far from useless. i mean, this deal covers the busy cherry blossom season where many travel up there :)

  • Which one is better , Boderless or planets ?

    • +4

I preferred Borderless, but that's probably biased by seeing it first, especially since they share some effects. The water parts of Planets was also underwhelming imo, though I'd still recommend it to anyone into the TeamLabs thing.
Also really enjoyed the Osaka Botanical Gardens exhibit, very different.

      • Doesn't Borderless open next week some time?

        • New location opens soon, it was in Daiba for years beforehand.

          • @flopsy: Ah I see. We booked for Planets last week, feeling like we should've booked Borderless instead now :-\

            • @EspadaV8: planets may be less busy as some flock to the shiny new thing :)

            • @EspadaV8: Hope you enjoy regardless! Absolutely recommend shorts or pants you can roll to your knees. You'll also have to put your shoes and socks in a locker upon entry.
Also, I'd highly suggest looking into the Small Worlds museum nearby. Not for everyone but it's pretty cheap and I loved it.

              • @flopsy: Oh, that looks fun. We were thinking of going from teamLab to the Gundam Base, and that museum seems to be about halfway between them both. We do have a Pokemon Cafe booking later in the day though, so will need to see how time goes with them all. Thanks

  • fukuoka one was pretty boring compared to the osaka/tokyo ones

  • +1

Thanks Op. Good timing for me as I will be in Japan in April. Purchased tickets for Planets on the 8th April. Couildn't get Osaka ones though because bookings only opened to end of March.

  • +1

Definitely recommend the Osaka one, especially after it gets dark it's pretty amazing!

  • Dead I just bought full price last week

    • Same. Bought borderless the day tix went on sale :'(

      • lol same

  • I recommend booking the very first session of the day - you can get alot of the places completely to yourself if you keep moving fast enough, and you can go for as many rounds as you like - at least in the borderless Tokyo one.

  • Leaving Tokyo tomorrow :( would've been nice to do borderless

  • Missed it :(

  • I missed it. Anymore such deal

    • i don't believe so but if it comes back ill post about it!
