Much better provider than the trash that normally gets posted here like Nord and PIA.

They also still support port forwarding.

Securely store your files with top-tier encryption.

I'm not touching it unless it's military-grade encryption.

      So cheap and disposable?

    • You have used VPNs before :)

"top-tier" is poor word choice, sounds like petrol grade. PM "top-tier" file encryption = AES-256

  • @TorGuardVPN
A newbie question, can you select any specific country for the VPN connection?

    • +1

Yes, when connecting to the VPN, you can select any one of the 50+ countries. You can also change the VPN protocol from WireGuard to OpenVPN if one works better for you.

  • I have been a TG faithful for >4 years. Any similar offer for existing / active customers ?

    • Just cancel and resub?

      • Not really. I got a neat ongoing deal of biennial 50USD. Not sure if Ill be able to retain it.
TG has been nothing but rock solid on wireguard.

    • +1

Thanks for the support! Yes, this offer is valid for current customers. If you contact the helpdesk, they can activate the discount upon renewal.

  • This looks interesting to replace my mullvad service.

Do these guys have a cli Linux app (for headless) like mullvad?

Or do we have to use the native OpenVPN/wireguard apps?

Ideally I would want an auto kill-switched, auto reconnect wg connection with port forwarding.

    • The TorGuard desktop app is available for Linux, macOS, and Windows, with the same features on all platforms.

      • So can the Linux desktop app be ran exclusively via CLI? ie. no GUI (for a Linux headless/server)

        • +1

No, but in the TorGuard members area, you can generate a WireGuard config file for any VPN server location or dedicated IP.

If you're using Ubuntu, save the WireGuard config to:

          /etc/wireguard/wg0.conf

Then, if you want it enabled 24/7, run the following commands:

          systemctl enable [email protected]
          systemctl daemon-reload
          systemctl start wg-quick@wg0
          systemctl status wg-quick@wg0

          • @TorGuardVPN: cool, thanks I've signed up to give it a try :)

        • If you're running the VPN on a server, why not just use Docker? That way you can put what services you want through the VPN network instead of the entire box…

Many options but Gluetun is a popular choice https://www.smarthomebeginner.com/gluetun-docker-guide/

    • I have set this up on my GL.Inet wireguard - and works like a charm with kill switch.
      Havent needed port forward.
