yeah but eating that bun or throwing it away isnt going to make a difference to the starving people in the world. mcdonalds are not going to send leftover buns overseas. i wish they would with all the money they make they could set up a mcdonalds and feed the starving children their high calorie food and save alot of people, but thats corporate greed for you.

  • Towerhill Maccas in Frankston still had the sign up this afternoon, my guess would be the manager on duty hasn't let the staff know as it just started today…

    • My store is doing them all day with a large meal limit 1 per large meal

      • Isn't that offer $1.5 with each meal purchase?
Just purchased 2 for $2 (in addition to my lunch) and now feel ill… thank you, McDonalds.

Sadly, all McDonalds meat is factory farmed :(
Still a good deal technically though, and I still enjoy looking at the cheeseburgers and remembering the Simpsons sketch about McDonalds…

    • +3

Personally I'd be surprised if it's farmed at all…

Lou: I went to the McDonald's over in Shelbyville the other day.
        Chief Wiggum: The Mc-what?
Lou: Yeah, I never heard of it either but they say they have over 2,000 locations in this state alone.
Eddie: Hmm… Must've sprung up over night.
Lou: But you know, it's the little differences.
        Chief Wiggum: Example.
Lou: Well, at a McDonald's you can get a Krusty Burger with cheese. But they don't call it a Krusty Burger with cheese.
Chief Wiggum: Get out. What do they call it?
Lou: A "Quarter Pounder" with cheese.
Chief Wiggum: "Quarter Pounder" with cheese? Well, I can see the cheese but? do they have Krusty's "Partially Gelatinated, Non-Dairy, Gum-Based Beverages"?
Lou: Yeah, they call them "shakes."
Eddie: Huh. "Shakes." You don't know what you're gettin'.

Comic book guy lonelines and cheeseburgers are a dangerous mix

        • Like the one about the shakes, Ive heard Maccas shakes are bad. Thanks for that

        • Mmmmmm Ribwich

  • I thought McDonalds posts were banned from OzBargain? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/15412

Edit: Never mind, didn't see the followup saying they're now allowed. Oops.

Cheeseburger Eddy is going to have a field day.

  • Can someone put the end date in the introduction please

  • +3

I just came from my local maccas and they said they didn't know anything about this deal so I couldn't get them :(

  • +2

4 per transaction; get them in Drive-Thru, by the time you go round the block to go back in, down the 4, ready for round 2. Assume 10 min per loop (lunch rush), that's 24 burgers in an hour. I challenge you to a duel…

Didn't work at 2 additional WA McDonald's today.

Can the title be updated to exclude WA stores please?

    • Sorry, going to have to reneg this deal now until the title is updated.

It's definitely not available at any WA stores.
I checked with another 5 today.
And it's not showing up on my Facebook.
I've 'liked' the McDonald's Australia page.

  • just to let you guys know, my local maccas is doing $1 cheeseburger with a large meal purchase all day. don't know if this applies to all stores.

  • They were $2.45 at my local maccas in Sydney :(

  • +2

Not working at Engadine McDonalds NSW. They've not heard of this deal at all. Thought it might be a hoax. Only working in VIC?

    • +2

The promotion is directly from McDonalds with no exclusions listed. The stores may not be aware of the promotion, I don't know why that would be though.

  • didn't work at any stores around Liverpool West. Even the facebook ink is broken.

  • anyone in WA had success so far?

  • This promo is still running, they even have a video for it on their Facebook page now.

I don't think this deal is valid for WA as when I go on their fb page I cannot see any posts about the $1 cheeseburgers as if they have limited the post to be visible by only those on the east coast?

    • Change your Facebook location to an east coast city and see if it becomes visible.

    12:45 at Wentworthville, NSW Maccas.
"Sorry we do not have this $1 cheeseburgers deal at this store"?
    WTF!

  • Perfectly good opportunity to make cheese burger pizzas

  • +1

my local maccas has it :)

  • +1

Maybe the manager from each store decides if they want to follow the deal (as with franchisees, no obligation to follow national offers released by HQ)?

  • -6

Tried using this in the Hindley St SA store. The manager confirmed the voucher was fake and all stores had been put on notice to look out for and not honour the vouchers from Maccas corporate.

    • +4

How could it be fake if it's posted by the official McDonald's Australia facebook account?

Either it's not available at all locations, or McDonald's hasn't informed all of its stores of the promotion yet, but the one thing we know for certain is that it isn't fake.

    • +2

It's directly from McDonalds so it's definitely not fake.

Also, it's not a voucher… It's just an ad telling people that McDonalds has this offer on again.

I don't understand why people can't just show their store that it's directly from McDonalds.

  • brisbane transit centre macca's had a sign advertising $1 cheeseburgers between 12-1pm

  • Just ordered 12 cheeseburgers for some colleagues. The three of us went up and had no issues. Interestingly there was no advertisement of the deal so we had to show the picture. Once staff saw the picture they were happy to do the deal.

  • Definately works in Melbourne. Have had it at two different Maccas stores. Both had promotional flyers in the drivethru. $1.00 between 12pm-1pm limit of 4.

  • can't alter. meaning
    no "no ketchup"
    no "change ketchup to mayo"

the patties at Chaddy today taste like eating paper!!!

    • but dogs are not allowed to eat onion and they have onion on them. sometimes i share with my dog - not intentionally but the bastard licks it and claims it before i can eat it - like bart on the simpsons.

  • mmm…. had some today :)

its available in a few stores I've visited in melbourne. Good deal, for lunch I get a dollar cheeseburger and the dollar fries. While I've seen adults and kids alike order 4 cheeseburgers for themselves with large fries and other crap :0!! 1 cheeseburger and 1 small fries is enough to fulfill your calorie needs!!

also you have to watch out for certain stores, I've had staff tell me I can't get the cheeseburger mcvalue meal (cheeseburger, drink and fries for $4). It's a standard meal at mcdonalds between 12-2! one kid even told me I could only get one! and my boyfriend couldn't get one..what?? there is some poor training at mcdonalds, I didn't really think they had THAT many deals to confuse staff..

    • -1

well to be fair with the slave labour wages they offer, they only get kids working for them until they find something better or managers that didnt qualify for uni. no offence meant to the staff.

      • As a recipient of the 'slave labour wages', I would disagree. For teens, the wages are actually better than supermarkets, most large retailers and other competing fast food venues - it would only be matched by the odd retail store, or cafe / pub. This is a regional town, though, so keep that in mind.

On the manager side of things, many of the managers I know work at Maccas specifically because it is flexible around their Uni timetable. I would have to agree with the 'find something better' aspect though (probably shouldn't have said that), but ah well.

On a side note, the Maccas I work at is actually quite good. It's a stricter setting than many local businesses are, since it needs to uphold the standards of such a large organisation, and teaches some pretty good skills regarding the workforce.

  • Latest posting: http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/3693/mcdonaldsbk.jpg

Available to QLD, VIC and TAS only.

    • Truth finally comes to the light of day!

    • No wonder. I asked at Macquarie Centre (NSW) and they didn't know about them.

  • anyone know if this has expired, my local mcdonalds (williams rd, prahran, victoria) said they don't sell the $1 cheeseburgers anymore (this is the same store that once told me I couldn't get a mcvalue meal).

  • The deal has changed, as of last Thursday, to a 1$ Cheeseburger when you buy a large value meal. Confirmed at two stores in Melbourne.

  • Maccas at Bourke street mall in Melbourne were doing big mac and mc chicken meals for $4.95 (small), $5.95 (medium) and $6.95 (large). This seems like a new deal, anyone seen this elsewhere?

  • Seriously, they should be perm on their $1 menu anyway. It still wouldn't be classed as a "loss-leader".
