Bluetooth issues are rampant with this. I got one on the last sale, in a metal kettle the connection does not hold even 2 feet away. The meater holds the connection to about 8 feet with the lid on. Inkbird sent me a replacement..same issue.. Not sure if it the radio or the software but dont buy this if you are using a metal bbq. Seems ok in my ceramic kamado though again cannot compare to the meater

For a second there I’m like, “what are they cooking in a kettle? Poached chicken?? That, or they take their Earl Grey very seriously.“ 🤣

    • I thought the case acted as a retransmitter? Or thats what the instruction manual lead me to believe….

    • Agree with this as I have one aswell. The Thermopro from Amazon has better range to be fair.

Inkbird swing and a miss on this one (I'm really finding their products don't live up to the ozb hype). Cannot recommend either as it doesn't live up to the connection distances promised and has issues with anything blocking its direct line of sight. It now resides in the back of my drawer after I had to spend good coin on a proper meater plus. While expensive, you can't beat the meat(er)

  • I bought this on the previous sale, and while I didn't have problems with the connection, the charger seemed a bit funky, and the charge lasted a mere 15mins before it died. The temperature settings also behaved weirdly, the manual showed one temperature, but the app settings for the same meat were significantly lower and it wouldn't let me adjust.

I'll try it again this weekend, after an overnight charge, and see if it behaves, otherwise i might say goodbye to it too.

Thanks for the honest reviews shaidas, coby and HiredGoon. Appreciate it!

  • What is that probe made of? Seems like the top/sensor part is made of plastic ? If so, is it safe to stick it in a BBQ for a long time( assuming that plastic may produce harmful fumes in high temperature enviroments )?

    • Interested in width of probe?
For use with an essential oil maker. T500.

  • Also had to return mine used once, simply didn't work.
