Putting aside the wisdom of buying anything with a 4060 in it, can't see how this comes anywhere near close to this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/825503

There's nothing inherently wrong with buying a 4060 if that's what you need, provided it's priced appropriately.

      • +3

the problem is that you'll be better served by almost anything from AMD or even nvidia's older generation (3060 ti for example) over the gimped 4060. I accept that there's no such thing as a bad product, just a bad price - but the 4060 is very badly priced at the moment.

    • The above deal is very low end with all parts. upgrading to match this will bring it higher than this price

  • +1

Meh, the parts at retail are $1,219 minus Windows 11.

    https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/rTfk7R

Would be surprised if they actually gave you your own license key instead of a volume license one but if they did then add $150 I guess. Still doesn't reach $1,699 and that's retail, not their volume discount cost.

"Yeah but it's PCCG and they're the best" as many people say despite being owned by a Dutch investment company with worse shipping times and now even higher prices.

Still it's not all bad. I need to get my Phanteks from somewhere.

    • The parts are $1219. Do the parts then put themselves together by themselves?

      • The parts retail for $1219. This is not the price that distributors are charging PCCG for components - if it was then PCCG wouldn't be making any profits selling parts.

        • Yes and they are selling those same parts + labour for putting them together.

      • The parts at retail are $1,219. PCCG will get them for much cheaper, barring the GPU maybe. There's a reason they pick specific cases or RAM/NVMe modules or PSU models they can make high margins on.

Even if you assume cost-price parity, the point was there's no specific deal here as the $1,599/$1,699 "was price" is overinflated.

        • Still have to account for labor cost of putting it together

    For comparison:

    RTX 4060 8GB, R5 5500, 500GB M.2, 16GB RAM, 550W PSU $888 + $50 Del | 2% Instant Cashback with PayID @ Nebula PC

    7500F + 4060 for $1188

    • +5

That's a good deal. Also appears to have another $125 cashback from MSI until the 29th Feb? So basically a grand total. The OP should really look at what he's done and request forgiveness from the OzB gods.

    • This is the one to go for.. not the nebula one.. to have similar upgrades from nebula will cost you more than OP build.
But the BPC build is better and cheaper

      • Excuse my ignorance - With the Nebula deal, I configured an upgrade to the 650M MB, Ryzen 5 7500F & selected the cheapest available 16gb ram with the total cost coming $1188 excl. shipping. (Same price as the BPC build) - Is there one that would be better than the other? Appreciated in advance :)

        • +2

I got $1288 +del when like for like. (Not sure if you included the msi 650w PSU.)
But really even the nebula one you mentioned is still ok. Probably don't need the PSU upgrade. It's just a nice to have.

          • +2

@maverickjohn: I did not include the 650w PSU. Thanks very much for your reply.

OP is going to be kicking himself when he reads all the comments.
Also, since when do Aussies say Y'all?

    • +4

      He's from Texas.

      • they mght nt say it but thy sure wll tpe it, ozy r lzy sods, theyll shrt cut anthing

Really not a decent deal when this exists

  • +5

sorry bro techfast, nebula & bpc own these parts

  • Why bother when you can use nebula for a brilliant deal and service

  • +5

OP have you requested a refund yet?

    • I don't think we'll ever see the OP again, unfortunately

  • +4

OP you should cancel your order and get this deal instead https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/825503

  • +2

Pccg never offer any killer deals

  • anyone got a deal with a 4060 and an intel cpu?

  • +3

Terrible deal no offence OP, PCCG average at best service from previous interactions and the price isn't the cheapest. Your almost up at 4070 super territory with nebula and a comparative system is available for less than $900 from nebula…

  • +3

Hope you have a money back guarantee for change of mind or price match or something. Yikes.

  • +2

Agreed definitely no deal here. Try to cancel your order.

  • Hey OP according to the website, the normal price is $1599 not $1699. Unless it is a typo on their website.

  • Just waiting a good deal of nebula to get my pc

  • +1

OP is either currently suffering from buyers remorse or a sockpuppet account

  • Techfast would be a better option. Seen some deals with the 7500f around this price which would be a good option as well.

    • +1

Definitely not you would still be waiting for your order while the next gen is being released
