Cheers, was able to price match with JB.

2 days ago, I went to TGG and picked the 4 pack and then asked the guy to price match, he initially declined but I said I have been price matching this website for ages, then he checked and said he will do it. Walked with 4 tags for $114.06.

    Amazon updated the price:

    $4.74 cheaper now.
    Down to $130.75

  • is it compatible with other branded Android devices? or just specifically for Samsung phones? wanted some for my travels but knowing Apple ones don't work so I'm considering these

I wanted to know as well, so I went looking. Short answer is no

      • Decent summary of the situation.

Until google sorts out their solution it limits options. I'd bet that Samsung ends up joining the wider android 'find my device' eco-system at a basic level and value-add as the article explains to differentiate their products.

        • I sure hope so. They're working with Google for that quick share thing, so I'm really hoping they work together to have their Smart Tags work with Google's Android network.

  • Does it sound off when it’s been away from owner for a while?

Still more expensive than the free give away for the 4 pack from Samsung with the trio charger if you bought a S24.

Come on Google release your Android tracker!!!!!!!!

    • Chipolo and Pebblebee make them. Apparently. But I can't find them.

    • imagine if the google tracker had the option to like, just pull up google and search for a persons name and when you click "maps" it shows you exactly where they are lol.
would have to be opt in of course.

      • You can already share locations with people. It tracks your phone's location. It's been around for years.

        • yeah but I mean accessible to anyone using google search. I mean I understand it can be somehow convenient. like when you are planning a route for a long drive using google maps on your big PC monitor, then you can be like "oh I wonder where name is right now?" so you can just type their name and see.

  • I dont understand how this works. Do you need to be close to the object you need to find?

    • +1

Yes and no. It uses Bluetooth. If you lose it at a shop or something, another Samsung user walks by and picks it up and updates the network telling you where your thing was last seen. Works like the Apple Air Tags.

When you're nearby, you can use your phone to either ring it, or with these, you use your phone like a compass to find your thing. Your phone has to have that fancy Bluetooth thing. If it's just regular Bluetooth, you can just make it ring to find it.

Compass only supported with UWB with S23 + etc

  • Price back up to $160.55

    • So quick :/

  • Bought it for $130.00 + delivery fee off from JB Hi FI today.
