Says -47% off RRP, but the usual price is usually around $200, so $128 is not too bad.

Released in 1991 and still is a good set of studio headphones in 21st century.
There are many decent competitors, like Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, Grado Labs SR60e, but if you want Sony, then get them.

Pros:
* Good sound
* Solid cable
* Price
* Plenty of good custom ear pads
* Amazon listing says "1 Unknown batteries required", "Battery type: Lithium", "Colour Screen: No", "Standing screen display size: 2.4 Inches"

Cons:
* Cable is heavy and becomes a mess in few years
* Not super comfortable if planning to use them for few hours

    Maybe not a pro for anyone just looking for decent headphones, but these and MDR-V6 get mega style points! Wonder how many productions they've been used for.

  • These are renowned for being indestructible (to a point). They're the cans of choice for live production monitoring. Thrown around in multiple production bags and still perform.

  • I've got a set of these arriving later today from Amazon AU via Amazon US that I paid $149 for…is it worth hitting up Amazon AU to try and get a partial refund?

    • Won't work - neither are amazon AU and different sellers. You could order these and return/refuse delivery.

  • found in all major studios.

      that owned by Sony lol

  • extremely amazing monitoring headphones

  • Yaxi pads for these might go ok, shame that at the moment the AKG K371 is stuck about $100-$140 higher than what it's worth.

    Next-gen Bluetooth needs to shake up the entire closed back market.
