Any 4TB NVMe M.2 4.0 sales coming soon?

Planning to move all our photos videos and files from my desktop and just get rid of it. The Lexar 4tb would've worked out nicely last month $250ish it was…

Anything similar coming up soon if anyone knows? Or have some recommendations

  • you are late missed out the 2nd BF sale last year from amazon. they were cheap that time for 1-3 mins or so

Any reason btw you really need nvme ?? cause your only use seems to be just storing data (supposidly for long term storage rather than like constantly reading saved data) ?

    possibly

  • Any portable 4Tb storage would seem to fulfill your requirements, unless there's something you're not telling us?

Even better, if you might want to actually recover your data at some point use a cloud storage solution

My desktop is like 15 or so years old when I built during my younger days and it's a massive one, case is thermaltake mkii chaser so it's not a small one.

Knowing me there is a chance around end of this year maybe when I go back to Korea for dental works I may build and bring back an itx so if that happens I wanted to put the nvme back in

I know the sdd can still do but a part of me just wanting the enclosed nvme too ha ha

are you needing to use that 4 TB storage for Gaming, or as a Operating system or need to constantly read the files stored ? If yes then continue with SSD or Nvme SSD or PCIe Nvme SSD upto you. (Sata SSD is gonna be cheapest, and PCIe NVMe gonna be most expensive)

or you only intend to use that 4TB storage for storing data once, then leaving in your drawers at home, then occasionally (say once 2 every months or longer) read/write from/onto it. If yes, then kindly leave your intention/desire to get NVMe away from reality. HDD is gonna be lot lot cheaper, will do you the job needed, and save you $$ that you can use else where. (or get a larger storage like upto 18TB which you cannot in SSDs)

Here's one HDD deal posted not that long ago

      • The nvme to itx would be for windows and steam but my steam games are very basic like ffx10 remastered basic then the rest for family photos and videos that get shared often to relos etc

Maybe it may be a solution get either of…

  • data on one drive or in RAID is not a backup

so you need to buy at least two to make two copies of the data, one drive placed offsite

also get yourself M365 family it has 6tb over 6 accounts for around $100 - $130 year

Who said RAID is a backup? I swear that's a trigger word for so many people.

    The Lexar 4tb would've worked out nicely…

You dodged a bullet - that specific Lexar drive is decent for PS5 expansion but unproven for reliable storage of valuable data

Anything similar coming up soon if anyone knows?

Both NAND and DRAM prices have been rising recently due to a number of colluding factors

Your chances of getting an A Tier 4TB drive like the 990 Pro or SN850X for under $100/TB in the short term are low

All the best storage deals are currently enterprise level HDD's and SSD's

    • For similar purpose my friend got the Samsung t7 shield 2tb ssd for 180ish, price matched cex from Officeworks. That's always an option if the nvme plan falls but thank you for the feedback on lexar

  • Silicon Power 4TB nvme from Amazon Japan for $380.56

Not sure about the brand but the price is right
