struggling to decide between Apple's Vision Pro and Costco's Visions Casserole

    • +2

One is ~60x cheaper and available locally.

    • +1

put casserole dish on head, tape phone to it and bam. Instant VR headset.

Comes in three different sizes too!

  • +3

These are great, but you can find these in Op Shops regularly for $5. I've picked up a few in the past.

    • Oh wow that's an idea.
Have you seen the other white Pyrex ones?
I love the double handle. I also have a long-handle Vision but find it distracting…

    • +1

Not the Vision ones. These can be put on stove directly, while the typical white/clear ones that you see are just oven proof.

But if you do come across them, they aren't really priced different to normal Pyrex.

      • I use mine on stovetop a lot: stew, doup.

2- minutes instant tastes divine in them, never use stainless steel pots!

    • Corning Visions products are a lot more durable than the random casserole dishes you find in op shops generally, as annarchon mentioned.

Swear my mum had these in the cupboard going back 30 years.

Struck me as ugly then, but I guess did the job.

Edit: To be clear I'm referring to the casserole pots not my mum with that last comment.

    • Was good until you tried to explain it!

  • This seems to be the sort of thing to use if you want to learn about thermal shock.

Am I the only one that finds it annoying that they count the lids as 1 piece each?
So, its 6 pieces - but that's three dishes with three lids…
6 pieces should be 6 things that you can actually cook with.

    • +1

Same as tool kits that count a 100 pack of cable ties as 100 pieces.

    • Or pyrex dishes with lids 🙄

  • I had a pink Visions saucepan but got rid of it when I came across an article that mentioned they had a habit of shattering on the stove.

    • Wow, but i had my 2 for over 25- years now and never missed a bit. Also bought a bigger one a few years ago. Touch wood.

Don't let this isolated event stops you. Just be aware some are not to be used on stovetop.

Use these on a regular basis, at least twice to three times a week and they look like they're brand new because of how much easier glass is to clean then steel. We chuck them in the dishwasher, handwash and scrub, no issues ever. Don't ever have to worry about metals or plastics leeching in as its just glass. Big fan of these and Japanese stone pots.
