      C845

      • +1

        Yep, no comparison.
        MiniLED > VA LED.

    • Those are double $$, you get what you pay for.

  • +5

There’s a reason that they are cheap they aren’t flicker free, and as such they flicker.

    • I may have missed a joke here but barely any TV's are flicker-free, that's why Black Frame Insertion exists.

      • -1

It tends to be the cheaper ones that are, many sony mid range ones aren’t.

        • +1

          I did a test on Samsung 85CU with high shutter over 1/2000 , it is PWM ;

But I did a test in JB hifi for a TCL , not much flicker when turn brightness to low , must be DC or high PWM backlight arrangement .

other than that , this will be a good deal

  • I’m not going to say stay away from Samsung tv. But our tv has issues at least once every 12 months. Got panel replaced last year. Ow we are in the process to claim second replacement.

    • My experience is the same. I have 3 much older Sony TVs which have outlasted a Samsung TV which I got about 7 years ago. It won't power on, I've changed the cable and it worked for a couple of weeks and now it won't power on again. Probably would cost several hundreds to get a technician to attend and replace the powerboard so at this stage, it's probably more cost effective to get a new TV.

    • Similar experience. I'd had OK experiences in the past decade with the brand, so bought a new 75". Not a cheapie Crystal either. Less than 6 weeks actually working and it didn't. Dead. Samsung replaced the screen not the TV! WTF! I was sick at the time and not in a position to follow up and argue over it. The replacement is full of bright white patches in the left third to half of the screen. Drives us crazy trying to watch dark scenes or academy wide 2.35. NEVER AGAIN SAMSUNG.

Our 65 inch Samsung has been going without fault for four years! No issues, brilliant TV (not O Led of course) with regular firmware updates still!

If only my 12 year old Sammy plasma died I'd have jumped on this one.

My ps50a is still going strong. It had the purple haze panel issue that samsung replaced when out of warranty about 5 years ago. All good since.

I have a 75" crystal uhd panel that had a dark patch due to a backlight led failure. Was replaced under warranty. All at home, all no fuss. I cant fault Samsungs warranty process.

      • Yep. My plasma almost died 5 years after purchase. Although they did not replace it, they did fix it free of charge and all at home too.

  • Is it still available? Do i need to create a samsung account with a edu email to see the price?

  • +1

65, 75 and 85 looks to be sold.out, on stock alert

Decent price but avoid this tv. Ended up with dark patches all over mine after 2 years. Backlight failure. Extremely common.

    • Yeah these entry level Samsung TV's are awful. Not just quality wise, but picture quality too.

My parents have the 2021 model of this and they're currently going through their 2nd claim for it to be repaired. First was a manufacturing defect where the mainboard HDMI ports didn't line up with the sockets of the the TV's frame, so you couldn't plug anything into the HDMI ports lol. Now recently the right hand 1/4 LED backlights completely died. The general QA with these are complete garbage.

With that being said I have a QN90B and it's fantastic. But clearly Samsung put zero effort and care into their entry level TV's.

      • Yep, ours is the 2021 model (Bought end of 2020). Still should last more than 2 years for the $2000 we paid for it. The Sony I bought for $1500 in 2014 is still going strong. Never buying shitty Samsung anything again.

I have a 50 inch 2020 Crystal Samsung TV since new and its frankly been great. There was an issue where it got stuck in a boot loop about 6 months ago, thought I'd be on the hook as its out of warranty but contacted Samsung and I had someone out to my place with a free replacement panel the next day. I see here reviews are mixed but so far so good for me. Perhaps they've cheapened components over the last few years?

Also interesting talking to the technician who was not from Samsung asking him which are the most reliable brands as they do repairs for all of them. Apparently Samsung, LG & Sony are all about the same in terms of failure rates, he did say they have more issues with TCL & Hisense so take that as you will.
