Feels like the RRP of Ikea dishes have been raised quite a lot….

    • +4

Yeah we went for the first time in ages and the meatballs are crazy expensive now.

  • +3

Perfect for a feed before a walk to the Sydney Olympic park for Tay Tay

  • You forgot WA. It ia mention in the T&C

WA IKEA Perth 6 Sunray Drive, Innaloo WA 6018

    • +1

Check the address for the ACT store. You will see WA address. Seems to be a formatting issue on table.

  • +1

I thought no love for WA. Then noticed the formatting error on the last line of the table. Looks like WA is included.

    • Good luck with there being any meatballs left after 6pm.

  • +2

The problem with IKEA restaurant is that 80% of their menu is unavailable, regardless hours of the day.

    • And there were no desserts yesterday either!

      • I can't believe they have replaced the jelly in kids set menu with biscuits.
        Biscuits as desserts…?

  • +4

$7.25 for a baked salmon fillet meal, that's epic.

    • is that before the half price promo?

    • small portions

  • +6

good deal…if you dont mind having a late dinner going to the logan ikea. otherwise the traffic via highway be crazy at peak hour.

also being a friday, you can almost guarantee a multi car crash (most likely around that underwood area) just to really take your after work frustrations to the next level.

    • I don't miss commuting in a capital city!

    • -1

Ha, I feel like I'm looking in the mirror

  • +1

Hi does anyone know if this 50% is restricted to only 1 main or for the whole family ?

    • +1

you can have more then 1 main to share to the whole family.

  • Chicken meatballs have been discontinued, just in case someone is planning to go there for having them.

    • +1

Horse meatballs have also been discontinued. So don't bother asking for it.

      • Literally no point in going to ikea anymore…

    • Does that apply to the frozen chicken meatballs too?

      • +1

        Frozen ones are still available.

        • +1

          Perfect summer treat

  • +5

Been boycotting ikea since they ruined the breakfast menu and swapped the cold scrambled eggs to the even worse cold omelette. Then they hiked the price and removed the egg from the breakfast meal, now you have to purchase it as an extra.

    Profanity you Ikea…

    Edit - /s because OzBaragin…

    • I stopped eating there when they changed the recipe for fried fish to soggy lumps :(
Now I think they have stopped fried fish altogether here in ACT

      • I love thier soggy lumps. Goes well with stale bread and off brand soda.

    • Ruined? They don’t even do breakfast any more.

  • nice, i can stop by here before getting wasted at marsden brew house

  • just had the plants balls and meatballs. Not bad. Full now lets go shopping

  • they got tabled area to dine ?

    • Yes.

    • +1

Of coarse they have a dining area. They even have proper plates and cutlery.

  • Wonder what happend to Pork ribs.

  • +1

They need an IKEA on the Gold Coast

    • But why? The IKEA is between Brisbane and gold coast anyway.

      • +1

It's too far, takes over 2 hours to get there and back. The GC has enough popualtion for them to consider opening a store here

  • I can see paid IKEA Family memberships coming. Hope I'm wrong.

    • that's the model that's trending these days, fo sho
Was it all started with Costco and Amazon Prime?

  • +2

Please be aware that even though it says "Offer available from 11 am to close every Friday," the IKEA Restaurant & Cafe closes 30 minutes before the store closing time.

  • get $25 off when spending $100 or more on home furnishings

Waiting for a furniture deal to double dip this.

  • +1

Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!

  • +2

Another hack (if you like meatballs) that's available anytime is the kids meal.

Kids meatballs are $5 for 4.
    Adults is $12 for 8.

Buy 2 kids meals and you get more mash and peas and the same number of meatballs for $10. Sure you'll be eating on a kids plate but meh…

    Obviously a half price main Trump's this…

    • Ikea use plastic plates for the kids meals. Bastards trying to shame my cheap arse!

      • +3

Just say I want the kid's meatballs but on a big boy plate.

  • +3

What makes me laugh is that the furniture in the IKEA dining rooms isn't IKEA furniture… it's high quality steel framed stuff

    • Springvale restaurant has ikea furniture, some of it has tags telling you which piece it is and the chairs are/were available, I think they were the lidas or similar when I last went before they ruined the breakfast menu.

      • Frickin' omelette AND you have to pay extra for egg.

        • I think they swapped back to scrambled egg when it became an additional extra, but I haven’t been back so I’m not 100% sure.

    • +1

If you think about it for 3 seconds, you'll realise that ikea makes home furniture. Not commercial furniture.

I don't expect an ikea stool to hold up to 10000 butts a month.

Someone else said they saw them used, that would be a great way to promote the products but the tradeoff is replacing them often (depending on the item).

      • +1

Id heard if you use wood glue when assembling their furniture it lasts much longer. It worked for me back when they used particle board. Now they're using cardboard to make furniture on a lot of items…blows my mind anyone would buy that

  • Anyone tried 2 mains and get 2x $25 off 100 voucher?

    • 2 mains will work. Should do under two transactions for two vouchers.

      • Just realised there is no mention of limits per person, just 1 voucher per transaction.

So you can technically get multiple vouchers with 1 Ikea account?

    • Did it, no issues. Line up twice or go with another person.

  • Missed it last week, made it this week. Just notice that not seeing anyone brings a takeaway bag lol

    • Update: Got a few clearances smart buttons and light bulbs. In store only.

  • What are "home furnishings"?

    • Cushions, curtains, vases, etc.

  • "$25 Discount Voucher: Customers will receive a $25 Discount Voucher for purchases of IKEA
Products from each Qualifying Food Purchase. The voucher will be printed on a separate receipt.
Each Discount Voucher is a single use voucher valid to purchase IKEA Products in one single
transaction on the day of the receipt. Please see the Discount Voucher for further Terms and
    Conditions"

Unclear what home furnishings or ikea products the discount is from.

Can anyone provide the t&c from the actual discount voucher or confirm what its from please? thank you!

    • +1

Bought a few items including smart buttons and light bulbs and it worked. Some Ikea IoTs are discontinued hence on clearance.

    • Can confirm its $25 off everything except food (confirmed by staff instore)

Great offer! I broke my items up to $100 each shop to get the most of the offer (one voucher needed per transaction)

  • Looks like the deal is expired as they have taken down that 50% off menu page and banner.

T&C says until August though. Not sure if it is because they don't want to offer discount on good Friday or permanently.

Went there last Friday evening. It was a mess. Waited for 25 minutes just to reach the counter to find out they can't cook food quick enough. Waited for another 10 minutes for bake salmon.

Really bad experience for a canteen style fast food restaurant with very limited choice.

    • Well they closed on the 29, so maybe permanently? Perhaps they underestimated the effect of the promotion.

      • +1

the offer page is now back online.
Looks like they took it down to aviod Good Friday confusion.

    • The restaurant has become more crowded in the last few weeks due to the food deal I reckon. Not bad at the store and time I visit for 5-10 mins wait line.

Today is Friday again. Shall I?

      • No, don't go today, it's school holiday, will be a complete disaster.
the deal finishes on 30/Aug, plenty of time, just wait for another week or so.

        • Was driving around for a place for dinner and ended up at IKEA again. Maybe I pick up a bed room couch by chance. It's been on my list for awhile.

  • Does anyone know if the discount voucher is tied to the membership? Can I use someone else's voucher with my membership?
