  • Wonder if this is good for a 4 camera 4k dashcam or a 4k drone

    • I’ve got the same question 🙋‍♂️

    • +4

It's V30 so should be fine for 4k drone footage. For a dashcam you want something with higher write endurance. Don't bother saving a few bucks on a dashcam, worst case scenario a card failure could be the difference between getting an insurance payout or not.

    • +3

Hi, yes its good for 4k dashcam and drone, Im using this in my DJI mini 4 pro without any issue. and its recommended by DJI too.

      • +1

Thanks, got the 512gb endurance for the drone but changing that to the dash cam to use this for the mini 4 pro.

    • for a camera, you probably want v60 or v90 if recording at a higher bitrate. v90 is a total rort though pricewise

    • When using a 4K video, you need to look for the U3 sign on the card in terms of writing speed. The link in this post, 64GB card is U1. So, just be careful.

  • Check your drone speed requirements.

For dash cams, you'll need to check speed requirements as well BUT importantly, the loop function on most dash cams will mean it's constantly writing and when it fills storage, it will rewrite past footage in and endless loop. This constant writing means it will undergo a lot of stress. Tests will prove / disprove but there are "high endurance"-class microSD cards which market themselves for theses use cases.

  • hmmm i want this but i have amazon credit/vouchers only for item sold and ship by amazon au. is there any way to search/sort items sold and ship by amazon au only?

  • Anyone know if it's good for Nintendo Switch?

    • +8

This would work fine for a Nintendo Switch. The max transfer speeds that the Switch supports is 95MB/s, and this Micro SD does 130MB/s

    • +2

Yes , works fine..I have the exact same card in my switch loaded with games

  • -2

Anyone know any good deals for a 1tb micro SD card for the switch. My 256gb is full so might as well jump to 1tb i think now

  • -4

Not fair, I got 6 of them last time ~$43 , which arrived on Saturday and sitting on my desk unopened.

    • +3

You can try to persuade Amazon CS.. but usually they say order again and return the old order..

      • +2

Good idea. The difference was $30.72. They could only cover ~$28 as a 'one time exception'. Absolutely fine by me. Wasn't going to send it back as they recommeneded and reorder as thats just unnecessary.

        • +2

Good outcome, I'd expect to hold firm on the one time. They flat out refuse to do this for me now, I feel dirty returning stuff for the price difference but I blame Amazon policies.

  • Started the free trial just to buy two, don’t know why I did, but thanks 🙏

  • Would this work well for laptop storage via an sd slot?

    • let me know once you found out the answer.

      • You go first and let me know

        • +1

          nah, you go first.

          • @RTX9090Ti: C’mon, that’s what friends are for

            • @JTTheMan: Nah, friend goes first, so after you friend.

              • +2

@RTX9090Ti: works fine, but keep in mind that some laptop card slots the microsd card reader is easily pop out. I almost had a heart attack when my card when missing and founded it on my seat.

    • +2

Yes, it will work fine. I have a 521GB Evo Plus card in my laptop and it worked flawlessly for the past 2 years.

As far as I know, there's no real difference between Evo Plus and Evo Select cards. Evo Select is a brand created just for Amazon.

      • Thanks

      • Thnaks, good to know. Crazy to think a little 37.66 chip doubles my SSD on my new laptop.
