  • Oh damn
    No brainer at $44

    • Price now $49. Fixed. Still cheap

      • I’d still recommend (unless you can get an xbone controller at this price)

  • wish it's the bluetooth one

    • It does have bluetooth (physical switch at the back to turn on). I bought this at $80 to replace my recently bought Xbox controller (darn stick drift), and am really happy with the purchase.

  • Most likely clearing store for the new Ultimate 2.4G with hall-effect joysticks.

    • Probably right. But it doesnt say which specific model these are either. The hall effect units are 2024 models on right?

What's a typical usecase for these? I understand that they're compatible with mobile and consoles, but what's the selling point? Better than 1st party controllers? Price?

I'm just looking for an excuse to buy one…

excuse: you are holding an ozbargain badge

They are very well built for PC (or Android / Apple TV / Nvidia Shield / Steam Link). Also works for Switch.

My favorite thing about them is that they are truly plug and play. The charger hub acts as the wireless usb dongle (the dongle is literally inside - can be separated if you want). So you literally just take the controller and bam! full charger, instantly connected, ready to roll.

I use it with my Steam Link to steam my PC to the living room and love it. It's just instant plug and play, which I really appreciate, compared to the constant pairing shenanigan with PS4/5 / Xbone controllers you may have laying around.

Also the quality is A++, the price is insanely good (at ~$50 for sure!)

      • These 2.4ghz ones aren't the Switch compatible ones afaik

        • They are, using a firmware update (a 30 second job). That makes them bluetooth compatible with PC / Android etc.

The 8BitDo Ultimate nomenclature is confusing af.

Gone back up to $117.65 :(

Black still in stock at $52+Delivery.
For $59 total I personally don't think this is that good of a deal. I'd rather save for the Hall Effect version.

  • 2.4g or bluetooth best?

    • +1

Bluetooth, since it has the Hall Effect sticks to last longer and works better with switch (gyro, turning it on etc)

( New models change this but afaik this is old stock)

      • Thanks

  • Back again at $49
