How many parking spaces are available at this site? When’s the best time to enter to secure a park? What happens if you enter and don’t find a park - are you charged?

    • +4

I have parked here a couple of times. Was always relatively empty during work hours so unless this deal increases the usage drastically then shouldn't be an issue.

      • +1

@HecticCrunt, cheers. Asked this question in case the car park is full upon arrival - I can then research what’s the next best park around the area.

        • +3

If you are talking about drive up early bird - Cinema centre is still doing $16. I think this $12 is a deal just to get more people to sign up, based on nearby car parks from this company the daily rate will be around $24 eventually full price.

          • +2

@fl360: I will likely (no decision made yet) position the rate below or equal to the Cinema Centre rate.

All rates are different though, it based on demand.

The flat rate is better because you dont have to be in and out by certain times so have greater flexibility, unlike the Early Bird rates.

      • Looks like 0 spaces available on the website, either the website has an error or this deal really took off.

    • +1

      200 Spaces available currently

      • So what happens if you enter and there is no space? Will you still get charged?

With the other parkings, at least when I get to book, I know I'll get a spot.

        • +1

Which companies? Wilson isn't one of them

    • You can park on the ramp side between levels, as long as you are not blocking the traffic.

However, I wonder whether First Parking will offer a discount to former Wilson Parking customers, as they had the same charge matching program that, to my recollection, was up to $400 or $420 before the takeover charged by Wilson.

Otherwise, it would not be fair to monthly parkers, who would end up paying more than the casual daily flat rate. ($12 * 30 = $360).

      • Are we actually allowed to park on ramp side? @First-Parking

  • +2

OP, is $12 an introductory promo rate or ongoing rate? Thanks

    • +22

Its an introductory promo rate, We don't put standard rates on Oz Bargain. Only when we have a bargain available.

    • +26

First parking took over Wilson at darling harbour. They did the same thing. $12 which was $3 better than Wilson.
In the space of the 12 months, they have now pushed that rate up to $30. actually really annoying hence me writing from the bus thus morning.

      • +1

Sounds like they will fit right in with wilson and secure parking. Good blokes in that industry

      • +5

        Username checks out

      • +4

What do you expect though? Space is extremely limited in a CBD, especially sydney, and we should be discouraging single occupant vehicles like cars from coming into the city itself.

    • +2

of course introductory rate, no one can do $12 all day in city

  • +1

How much does Express Membership cost?

    • +3

      Zero - Free to join.

      • +4

        Thank you marketing person

    • nothing, you have to register your plate and store a payment method.

  • can't add credit card. site says "This content is blocked. Contact the site owner to fix the issue."

  • Hi Eric,

Please reach out to [email protected]

  • If I park there for an hour, it's still $12 or do I need to stay between a certain amount of hours for that to kick in?

    • +1

Flat Rate is $12 - 4am to 4am you can leave at anytime in between.

  • doesn't the thumbnail look like a flooded car park?

    • U seem any deals for non flooded cbd parking for 12 bucks?! ;)

  • Flat Rate is $12 - 4am to 4am you can leave at anytime in between.

      • +3

yep - I know that, but clearly missed a step. Thanks for the heads up!

  • When does the offer end?

    • +2

At this stage we are unsure, based on supply and demand.
I will as always hold for as long as possible.

If I increase the next step up will be $14 roughly.

Can I just say, this service is great for someone like me with fear-of-driving-and-parking-in-the-Sydney-CBD-because-I-don't-want-to-get-ripped-off-especially-on-a-weekday anxiety disorder. Although it gets replaced with omg-what-if-I-get-there-and-the-qr-code-doesnt-work anxiety disorder, and what-if-the-qr-code-works-but-I-get-over-charged-because-I-didn't-read-the-fine-print-or-something-a-phobia.

But it's worked as advertised each time, and I was charged the advertised amount, so…thanks.

    • +2

Thanks @damfrog that is how we built the business to charge fair flat rates that are simple parking to understand using technology to make your experience seamless.

      Really appreciate the feedback.

  • We need more cars in the CBD thanks OP

    • +1

Couldn't agree more! We are working hard to win new sites.

    • come to Brisbane the CBD is dead plenty of spots

  • Hi OP, just wanted to ask if the license plate recognition actually works or not? I've driven up to the Darling Square carpark multiple times and it never opens by itself - have to use my QR code in the end

    • Our plate read rate is 95% at Darling Square, so you are the unlucky 5%.

Reach out to my team at [email protected] and they maybe able to tell you the reason or put a solution in place to correct it.

  • Hi OP, how much is parking here from 4 AM to the next following 4 AM? $24?

    • That is correct $24..Each 4am you add on another $12.

  • is this special rate for one entry/exit? or can do multiple entry/exit on one day?

    • +1

This is per exit per day, not multiple entry.

      • thanks - when will this promo rate end?

        • At this stage we are unsure, based on supply and demand.
I will as always hold for as long as possible.

If I increase the next step up will be $14 roughly.

  • -1

Why is this so cheap? All day parking in the CBD is reguarly $80+ even with early bird specials etc. Surely this will be used to its limits?

    • +2

we have just taken over the car park from Wilson parking on Monday and they left us with an empty car park.

We have 200 empty bays and need to fill them back up quickly.

Our loss is your gain though, as we are offering great parking deals to encourage people to give the car park a try under new management.

, if you look at all our rates across our sites we charge a flat rate and keep it as cheap as possible.

  • +3

Hi Op thanks for the replies. Just wondering if the site currently has EV charging facility (either dedicated charger or powerpoint for us to plug into)? If not is there plan to install them?

    • Do any paid car parks have these? Are they usually free to charge?

      • Yes several Wilson parks have EV charging and it's 'free'

        • some are not free though - i'd say 60-70% of charges provided in Sydney CBD are free once you pay to park

    • At this site we don't have any EV chargers, but we do at Darling Quarter and Darling Square in the CBD.

      • Thanks. Would be good to put it in at some stage (even just make powerpoints available to people if there are any near some of the spots)

        • I will work with the landlord to see if we have the potential to do this in the future.

      • Btw for Darling Quarter and Darling Square charges, are they free to use?

        • +1

At this stage you just have to pay for the parking and no additional charges for EV bays.

I will arrange for our EV car parks to have a tab on our website to make it clearer that we have them at particular sites.

      • Are they also $12?

  • +3

I used to work at the CBA office at Darling Quarter and they had a similar great deal when that car park first opened. My message would be enjoy while it lasts!

  • +1

If price is similar I always use First Parking. The plate recognition works every time for me and the Darling Quarter carpark bathroom is so convenient. Although it is annoying when prices went from $12 to $24 in a few months, I guess it's inevitable for a CBD and don't blame you.
Half joking, do you think it's possible to add a note on whether the carpark is "Low Car friendly"? Some car parks in the city are shocking.

  • oooh this is so good. thanks for sharing op!

  • Any EV charging?

    • Not at this car park but the nearby Darling Quarter does.

  • +1

Good deal but I wouldn't get too comfortable with it. It'll soon go up to $30 as with Darling Square & Darling Quarter

    • Darling Square is still cheaper at $25, or $20 with member's discount.

      • Correct, Darling Square is $20 for members.

Darling Quarter was going full everyday and due to high demand we had to increase the pricing.

    • Even those prices are insane for parking in the literal CBD of Sydney

Go and look at parking prices in NYC or any other world class city

  • What is the height restriction?

    • got it, Height Clearance of 2.1m

  • Would you be friendly to someone sleeping in their vehicle? (Though probably bad idea if it’s an underground car park due to the fumes)

Not currently looking for it but in a previous life I was.

  • Started at $12 in Melbourne Burk St and gradually increased, now $23. Not happy 😒

  • It’s showing 0 spaces on the website. Is this realtime ?
Since there’s no pre-booking, what if we enter and can’t find a spot ?

    • The developers are fixing the 0 on the website.

The bays are just not pulling through yet as we only just launched the car park.

      • +1

Pre booking doesn't mean a guaranteed space - You are just paying for it before you arrive by the way.

        • Hi Op, if there is no space available when we arrive, and then if we have to leave in 5-10 minutes, do you have any 15 free minutes or will we be charged $12 for the entry?

    • the zero error spaces has now been fixed.

      • Thanks, so that’s real time number yeah ?

        Thanks for the quick response.

  • Hi OP,

What is the good time to arrive where you can be confident to get the car spot for the day?

Also what is the logistic? How does your pay machines know about the membership?

    • At the moment any time as we have 200 empty bays.

      • Works off license plate recognition - please visit our website and watch the how to guide which talks you through the full process.

  • Awesome deal, thank you!

  • Hm.. Any deals for parking over few days?

  • noticed rep doesn't reply when users ask about when rocking up to the car park and there are no spaces.
tried looking on their FAQ on website,, no info about this.

  • Is this the parking that goes downwards at the Meriton on Kent street?

  • Is there a way to know how many carparks are currently available? The website seems to say 300 days, but it does not appear to update.

  • Price increase to $16 effective Tuesday 2 April.

    From their email:

"We would like to inform you of an upcoming change to our rates at 528 Kent Street effective Tuesday 2nd of April 2024.

The Monday to Sunday Express rate will be increasing from $12 to $16

Please note that this is still 20% less than the new drive-up flat rate of $20

We understand that changes like these can impact your budgeting and planning, and we want to assure you that we have carefully considered these adjustments to ensure the continued quality of our parking services."

    • Got that email as well.

Shameful its only been less than 3 months and they cant wait to put it up

  • +2

Registered and used for the first time yesterday, I must say it's a breeze to be able to just rock up and have such a seamless experience (no cards, codes to etc. ) number plate recognition worked as expected.
