It’s not an insurrection if we’re invited

Do I need to take my heels off to walk inside? Also do they check BAC?

    • yes, leave your shoes at your job at the Canberra gentlemen retreat.

I'm absolutely thrilled about attending the event! The anticipation is practically buzzing in the air, and I simply can't wait for the day to arrive. It's like waiting for a long-awaited adventure to unfold, and I'm already counting down the moments until I get to experience it firsthand

It’s a nice day. Great if you have kids as you can let them run wild knowing the AFP have all the boundaries covered with big arse guns so they’re not getting out.

As if Dad's Army will do anything

Surely this won't bring out the "cookers" surely

    • Why would inbred intergenerational dolebludgers upset their own kind?

      • -1

        Found the cookers

Do give our regards to your British (or are they German?) cousins and their representatives in Australia

Damn that’s the same day. I’ll be checking out the government house in Tokyo.

  • A lot of people went to see the capitol in the USA on Jan 6.

Mar 16 sounds it will give Australians the same opportunity to visit the capital openly, after they have registered.

You too can experience history, and be a cook or a convict like most Australian's ancestors.

Just attempt to steal a loaf of bread at the supermarket. Try to pass the gates. Do not pay 200 dollarydoos for the loaf.

Or roll a double, and register above. You too can visit Alexander Maconochie at another historic property in Australia.

    /sarcasm

  • While you are there make sure you spray the corrupt bugs please
They don't have pest control lately 🤣

Barnaby Joyce isn't going ….need to bring own drinks , but better place than the street to sleep it off.

    • Apparently the social media “thing” is to recreate the event by people lying down in a chalked outline. I assume any video version would involve saying obscenities into your phone.

  • Will Hurley (and his bestie Morrison) be there? Just need to know whether to tone up the vocal chords for the stanadrd GG "You are my sunshine" singalong.

Another test for the insipid PM coming up this year when Hurley's tenure is (long over)due to expire.

Will his wife welcome the visiting colonial peasants through song?

      • And will Hugh Poate be there?

      • If you're hankering for a choral rendition of some biblical favourites, it may be a nice outing.

  • This was an episode of Hollowmen wasn't it?

  • Anyone got a price guide?

In all seriousness it is interesting to have a look around. There is some interesting art works, architecture and interiors. Old Parliament House is worth looking at as well.

It was far more interesting when it was in use, especially if you sat in the public gallery.

Now is a good time to see it lit up at night during the Enlighten festival (1-11 March), although the OPH show hasn't been as interesting lately. Previously it had coloured cartoons and well-known political issues festooning the walls, which is obviously apt. Haven't seen the 2024 version yet so fingers crossed.

  • Can I negative gear any loses incurred on the day?

  • Ahhh the opportunity to look and walk into a house we all pay for while there are so many who can't afford or cannot find one to live in… What a wonderful idea!

    • Good motivator to become a politician

      • The Governor-General isn't typically a political appointment, usually G-Gs are from the judiciary or the military.

Canberra is the seat of government, but the post is about Government House, where the Governor-General - the representative of our head of state (who is an inbred old toff). The parliament and the G-G are very separate institutions.
