Where Are People Buying Quality 18650 Batteries from Nowadays?

I can't seem to find any on eBay. I only need a couple, and I'm in the outer East of Melbourne.

    I borrow a few from the Tesla next door, I figure they won't notice the damage of missing battery packs :P

      I think our neighbor got one of the Chinese made Teslas. Every so often, a few of the batteries fall off as they drive away.

      No those are rechargeable NiMH AA or AAA cells. 18650s are Lithium and much bigger

    I take apart my broken powertool batteries. Second lifetime of my Aldi ferrex batteries is powering various 18650 applications, usually its only 1 cell that is no good inside the whole pack.

      Usually the case, one faulty cell renders the whole package useless. So it is good if you can salvage the good ones and re-use them.

      Or even brand new powertool batteries, if you don't have broken ones. Bonus if you need high power (low internal resistance).
      Be warned it can be a challenge to disassemble without shorting. Get the right tool to cut the metal strips.

          Cutters. Not long-nose pliers :-) Some batteries are easier than others, with the plastic frames.

    If you're not in a hurry, Aliexpress very good value. Look at the reviews where buyers have put the cells through some capacity test cycles
