@hughes: No gst mate , use us california as tax country.

            • @PT4rd: Can you please tell me, how do you select country? Where do you get that option to do that?

              • +1

@powerful9990: Before u confirming ur payment, there’s a section to change the country of tax .

Got an extra 3 months voucher 'for a friend' too which I redeemed into my own email address and it increased my duration to Jun 26 from March 26.

    • How did you redeem the extra 3 months into your own Nord account/email address? Were you an existing customer when you joined?

      • after you sign up, add the code they email in "Redeem" section of your account. I had to log out and back in for it to show. I have an extra months now!

        • Cheers. That worked. I had to wait about 12 hours for the "special offer code" but it came through. So cheeky how the system doesn't stop you from using it yourself ;)

      • There is a link in the email they send with the voucher. Just used that link.
        'New' customer

    • Check it's still showing June 26. Mine had changed to June 24 and chat had to change it back. Took about 10mins, so looks like not straightforward.

  • yes but disney+hotstar requires you to have an Indian mobile number for their constant otp checks.

  • I joined Nord a few years ago and then I switched to Surfshark. Do I need to use a different email to constitute as a 'new customer'? Or can I use the same one as last time?

    • +1

      Different email

  • Found auto renewal turned on also, and have just disabled. Thanks koala123.

Anyone able to assist with a NordVPN issue I am experiencing, which I think is a very simple one?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/834696

  • Does it work with Foxtel Go, when you are overseas??

  • +1

My surfshark expires in July, so may as well get this deal now! Awesome, thanks OP

    • Yep, same here. Now for 100% off on surfshark to have the alternatives available. Nord Mesh feature worked a treat for me recently on a trip. Surfshark has Nigeria which nord doesn't.

  • +1

USD 81.36 ~ AUD 125.86. For me it tracked AUD 84.53. Turned out to be ~67%. What to do now?

    • there is a 30 day cancellation policy. Cancel the account and open a new one with a different email address.

Make sure you use a compliant Web Browser on Cashrewards site - e.g. Chrome with default settings. This will ensure that tracking works.

      • +3

Thanks. Will do that. But why would it track incorrect cashback? Either track 100% or nothing.

    • Easiest to use a device which collects all your personal information and has no ad blockers, an Android phone will usually do the trick.

  • I got the Complete package and paid $200 and only got 121.37 as cashback so requested a refund. What did I do wrong? (I didn't choose any other products)

    • +2

You didnt read the OPs post fully by the sounds of it.

"And as mentioned in the terms below in bold don't add any of the upsold products. A lot of people do and wonder why their cashback is lower. If you make a mistake you can cancel for a refund."

    • +1

As mentioned above you have to select standard package with no addons for CB to work. They've tracked $AU121 for me.

  • 138.45AUD via credit card. Thanks OP.

  • Charged $138.45 with Up and tracked $121.37 cashback in ~30mins from purchase, Thanks!

    • I ordered 4 hours ago but haven't seen it tracked into my account. Did it take only 30mins for you?

  • Can someone please help me here.
I joined Nord in March 22 and paid $127.70 for 2 years
I'm set to auto renew on April 3rd this year
I'm still on auto renew - if I deselct that it's offering me $98.70 for 30 months
So from the above…my understanding is that I could just set up a new account with a different email (the old +1 trick on my Gmail) and get 2 years free.
Question though - does that change my login with Nord? Do I just change the login to be via gmail instead ie my new additional email address?

    • Yes it's fine. It's a new account so new credentials. One just logs out of existing and back in with new.

    • New customers only -
Thus you need a new email and login to be able to get the 2 years free.
Definitely worth it rather then paying the $98 renewal.

    • yep, as already said… new account.

you are basically 'throwing away' your old account.

  • I tried using it for YouTube, but it does not work.

    • Tried what exactly?

      • Using it for Argentinean and Ukrainian locations.

  • Amazing, thank you. I used the Cashrewards mobile app, used Christmas Island as my location with Nord, and paid with a travel credit card. The cashback was tracked in an hour.

    • Great advice. I see that Christmas and Norfold Islands are exempt from paying GST, even though they are in Australian jurisdiction.

  • Cashback tracked within an hour, but now it says it's pending approval. Does anyone know how long that normally takes?

    • Probably have to wait at least 30 days as you can get a refund during that period.

  • Hey Guys, How do you use the VPN services these days? I havent really ever gotten into using VPN except my work VPN for work purposes and occasionally i used it on my device to login to Aussie sites from overseas. I have Asus routers at both my place and my parents place (RT-AX82U, GT AC5300, Tuf-AX5400 plus a few older ASUS routers as AiMesh). I think a couple of these routers say they have VPN support / VPN built in. Does that mean i can put NordVPN details directly into the Router and then all devices that connect to the Router (wifi and wired) will automatically use the NordVPN? Is that how people generally use it?

Or do they set up the VPN individually with each device separately? and then switch it on and off when they want to use it just on that particular device?

    • +1

You can setup VPN on the router and choose which device uses VPN or all devices connected.

NordVPN has guides for most devices, check it out.

  • +1

For anyone without Cashrewards, but using Shopback - its 98% back there…
Just in case you dont already have both, or cant be bothered signing up…

  • Paid $138.45, tracked $121.60, not bad $16.85 for 2 years VPN.

  • shopback has 98% cashback for Nord as well, is that a safer option for me if Ive previously used cashrewards for Nord?

  • +1

Ended up paying $125.86 after conversion but only got $121.37 CB…

Not complaining but not really 100% CB.

    • +2

Same here with ING. I guess you have to account for currency conversion and hidden fees. $3 - 4 for 2 years of VPN is a steal though :)

    • +1

      Same with Bankwest CC

    • Same with NAB Visa.

  • -1

Do i still get 100% cash back if use crypto to pay?

    • +1

you need to re-read the original post…. your answer is very clearly noted.

  • Thanks OP. I was hoping one of these deals was coming soon. My current plan expires in a month. For those signing up with a new email address, don't forget to cancel the auto-renewal on your current account!

  • +2

Charged ~A$148, tracked ~A$143 in less than 1 hour. Not real 100% cashback, 96.6% actually. The problem is they charged me in AUD based on their "exchange rate" and "calculated" the cashback using the USD amount to AUD on their "exchange rate" again, which is totally uncontrollable on our side.

  • Paid: $138.45 AUD (WBC MC CC)
    Cashback tracked:
    NordVPN
    March 6th
    Estimated approval: 09/06/2024 (~95 days)
    Total spent: USD$81.36
    $121.60 AUD

    Gap $16.85 here…

    • Gst 10%?

    • While everyone reporting USD 81.36, I see USD 95 on my checkout screen even after selecting non-GST country. This is 2 years standard plan. Is that something happened to you as well maybe?

  • This is really strange, I purchased the 2 year plan and have a receipt for it. But it's showing no active subscriptions
    Does it take a while?

    • No, it shouldn't. Contact customer support.

  • I made a purchase using the Cashrewards app and paid through PayPal. After the payment went through, I was asked to install the NordVPN iOS app.

However, every time I tried, I got a message warning against installing external apps and advising me to do it only through the Cashrewards browser.

Now, when I try to install the iOS app as prompted by Nord, a message from Cashrewards pops up, advising me not to install the app.

Also, there's no record of my purchase on the Cashback app.

    • Quit that screen after purchase is made successfully and go back to app store to download manually.

  • signed up for the first time, whats the use case of this BTW?

    • Some shady stuff in Turkey or India

    • Stremio/torrents?

  • How do I change the purchase country to avoid the GST?

    • You click Australia next to tax country then you can pick a country without gst like the Virgin Islands

  • I have read all the comments and people are paying USD 81.36. Why am I seeing USD 95.76 on checkout? I have also selected non-GST country. Have they increased the price or am I doing something wrong? I have selected standard two years plan.

    • +1

Was going to ask exacting the same question.

    • +1

Ok, I see what's going on, after you have been to NordVPN website a couple of times, $3.39/month becomes $3.99/month.

That's how eighty something US becomes ninety something.

Just clear the cookies or use incognito mode, but make sure you go through Cashrewards for tracking.

      • Looks like Cashrewards is still paying 96.6% cashback on the inflated amount of US$95.76.
My gap is A$5.01 after choosing non GST country. Charged A$148.14. Cashback A$143.13

        Similar comment https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15035144/redir

        • Nord is smart. They are charging $3.39 for those with no browsing history and for some $3.99 and people gets confused. Do check at the checkout if your final bill is USD 95 or 81.

      • Thanks that's exactly what the issue was. I followed your suggestion and it worked :)

      • Cashrewards tracked, 100% of USD, but $4 short in AUD. Not big deal, hope the 3 month free code arrives soon.

  • Thanks, OP. Renewed with a fresh account.

How fast did it get tracked for you?

  • Thanks OP! Just purchased a 2 year subscription to use with my AppleTV :) been waiting for a deal for it, and here it is! I used 28degrees travel credit card, got charged USD 81.36 (chose U.S. Virgin Islands so no tax) - converted to $125.86. Cashback tracked after 41 minutes, getting $121.03 AUD back. 2 years (+3 extra months using the voucher) ends up being ~18 cents per month, not bad at all!

  • In addition to the 100% cashback, I believe (and hope I didn't screw this up), you can click this offer in CR:

"2 years with 67% off + gifts" - and you should also get a $10 uber eats voucher??

T&C apply. USA, UK, AU, CA: Users will get Uber Eats vouchers if they buy any of our 2-year plans. The voucher’s value will depend on the plan: Standard $10 (£10), Plus - $20 (£20), Complete & Ultimate — $30 (£30). The vouchers will be sent after the 30-day refund period. Tracked: 13:06pm: $A121.03.

  • How long does it take for the 3 months offer to come through?

    • +1

      1 day

    • +1

Mine was sent about 7 hours after I signed up

  • No payment methods would work for me :(

  • +1

Purchased $125.86 AUD, cashback $121.03 tracked after 40mins. Thanks OP!

    • same for me but took about an hour to track, all good now!

  • +1

With the 3 months coupon do you just apply the coupon to the account with the subscription just purchased?

    • Yes, I've just done this successfully.

      • I received a URL to refer friends, not a coupon. Did you get something different? Thanks

    • I just applied to coupon to my own account, too

      • Check your account, make sure your renewal date is June 2026.

        • It is, thank you! :)

  • My app shows my renewal as june 2026 but my desktop browser when loggedinto nordvpn shows my service expiring on june 2024? Which one is accurate?

    • Did you apply the three-month coupon? My renewal date (desktop) changed to June 2024 after I applied it (never checked the app). I created a ticket with Support and it was fixed up within a day.

      • yeah i did. but on my app it still says 2026, just on my desktop it says 2024, weird.

  • is 98 percent currently has been over 12 hours and cashrewards still hasn't tracked. only choose standard option.

  • Can anyone confirm their cashback has now processed or does it take the full 95 days?

    • +2

Still pending - estimated approval date of 10/6
