How does this compare to the G54 that was heavily discounted?
More ram, more storage and better processor, but G54 was indeed a better deal when it was heavily discounted, if specs aren't your concerns.
G54 has faster processor but g84 has really good screen. We bought g54 and it is really good phone
What is date for the latest security update? G84 is still stuck at 1st September.

@bobokingdom: Yep, Feb patch went out to East-Asia last week, and I'm expecting we get ours either this or next week.
Considering the Android support for these Moto devices is shorter than ever, I feel like they should at least stick to their update schedules…
@monky: Yes, promised bi-monthly as it is Google Enterprise Certified but didn't delivered. I couldn't use the phone for work any more as they blocked my access (as the minimum patch level is Oct 2023). Motorola has decent hardware but very poor software support. (India got their update on 22nd February but nothing here…)
@bobokingdom: Sheesh… Yeah I've been using an ancient iPhone for my work's softphone since the G84 doesn't remember it has a microphone when you lock it.
@monky: yes, used to be big moto fan 6 years ago but their shorter support cycle doesn’t and scarce security updates make them less appealing now, even nokia are 3 android versions, the one shipped and 2 updates, and they are good on security updates.
G54 is the better buy IMO, unless you care about gaming performance
May be G84 can't justify the ~$150 higher-price ? @ $200 for G54, some can live with fewer-features, & the difference may be 'negligible' ?
If there is a particular-feature that is a must-have: 'the devil is in the details', eg why a recent Huawei-Y5-2019 phone can't CALL when Vodafone turn-off their 3G network.

$296.10 from Big W if you have Everyday Extra. I had $30 in rewards so got one for $266.10. Happy with that.
Now to see what I can sell my $200 G82 for, lol.
Those $30 Rewards could've been used on groceries. So it's not really a true phone price saving.
The rewards were mostly from BWS, lol. so I would have spent them on beer!
