This looks like a copy of the Yoshikawa Tempura Pot

    • Was that any good?

      • The Yoshikawa one works well. Very well made

    • +3

It's a really cheap knockoff. Very flimsy metals.

      Source: Own one.

  • I can't order when I go to buy

people don’t like electric deep fryers so doesn’t burn house down ?

    • +3

Who says using one of these deep fryer pot will burn your house down?

      • clearly he said that…

      • check CFA, that’s the country fire association, most common cause of house fires is fat or oil boiling over onto hot plates, MFB is metro CFA is outer metro and shires, but people in city probably enjoy fried food as much as in outer metro.

  • Food grade material?

      you eat metal?

  • +6

I brought one of these last month when Myers was dumping them, absolute crap quality, not possible to get thinner metal, I won't bother trying to use it

These seem good in theory, but basically it's no better than a deep pot and a baking rack with some paper towels underneath.

Wife bought one and I used it once, never again. Also it needs a full 2L bottle of oil to actually be usable.

  • looking at this, I might try one of the cylindrical pot ones with a mesh basket, would use less oil (I wouldn't be filling it up that much) and the crumbs won't drop everywhere burning the oil

  • Can find em on Temu/Ali Express easily

  • +1

Bought one and wouldn’t even pay $5, rubbish quality

  • The pot fry's more than the grill on the lid can hold. The walls are somewhat thin too. Honestly not worth the hype.

  • Thanks all for the feedback …. bullet dodged! Saved $25.

Kmart used to sell a mains powered 1.5L deep fat fryer - I find ideal for smaller things have have to be fried e.g. battered mushrooms etc. Sadly though they only seem to sell the 3L version which has it's uses but of course you need double the oil etc.

If the 1.5L version ever comes available again I'd recommend. Just decant the used oil when cool enough into a big jar and filter as needed, otherwise it's so small you could put the whole thing in your beer fridge if you'll be using it within a few days - works great this way over Xmas etc.
