The concept of stocking up on pudding streamers completely eludes me.
my Mum used to make 6 boiled fruit puddings for xmas but in a calico bag. we are all to lazy to do what she did even in her seventies
Excuse my ignorance but wth is a pudding steamer?!
you mix up all the ingredients (sort of like a fruit cake only richer) and pack the pudding steamer. you then put it in a saucepan with water and boil the water for an hour or so and lo and behold you have a pudding.
My wife bought this mondo steamer last year. The lid is held down by compression, this is fine until you cook the pudding. As the pudding cooks it expands and puts more pressure against the lid making it almost impossible to remove. Non stick is also pretty average, after the third use it started peeling.
We bought a stainless steamer with roller clips to secure the lid - absolutely brilliant!
