The Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 (14", Gen 9) is a decent price too ~$1.6k if you want better screen, dGPU (RTX3050), bigger battery, 1TB storage.

damn it 32gb and upgraded oled panel on either intel or amd and i would have been all over it.

Core ultra and 8xxx amd series are roughly on par more or less with each other from what ive read.

See link in my post below

        • thanks ! will likely pull the trigger on this one

Really good deal, atlhough the lack of USB 4 and the 57Whr battery might be a problem for some.

For those who want 32GB option or a higher res screen, there is an Intel equivalent.

Weirdly on the Intel option you can get the OLED or the 32GB Ram option but not both. Yes the Intel will likely draw more power but the battery is almost 50% larger (84 vs 57hr).

It's actually frustrating how difficult it is to get both a 7840HS and 32GB of RAM in a 14" chassis with Lenovo. You pretty much have to buy the Legion Slim for that.

Also note that for both laptops it says "ships free in 10+ weeks". I'm not sure how accurate that is though but might be worth noting…

    • Yeah I really wanted a 32gb ram option (or a socketable ram option!) but caved with the 16gb seeing as I don't do much processing on my laptop anymore.

My ideal would've been a 2-in-1 of that at similar price point, but that probably won't ever happen.

I'll find out in a few days time if I regret my decision.

There is an Intel Core Ultra 7 build with 32GB and OLED option here.

      • No dGPU makes it a bit :/ depending on when you plan to use it for.

        • Yep, fair. Although Intels new integrated Arc looks to have a decent performance increase from previous gen Iris

  • Does the shopback cashback apply to this since you have to use the "EASTER" code to get this price

    • Was going to ask the same thing. Shopback says that only codes featured on Shopback qualify for the discount, and EASTER isn't one of them. Which is unfortunate, because Cashrewards just had 12% cashback and specified that all codes are valid.

      • @gibbo_au mentioned in another deal page that cashrewards has 10% cashback and includes EASTER

        • +1

It was 12% yesterday but good to see they're still doing a decent amount today. Pity that Shopback aren't including this code as I prefer dealing with them over Cashrewards.

  • This one seems like phenomenal value, I'll try and order it!

interesting - let us know how much ti ends up being

      • I deal with Chinese suppliers on a daily basis, so I'm hoping I can use one of them to ship it. I'm estimating it should end up being around ($1200+$200)*1.15= $1610 inc GST.

        • This deal looks phenomenal compared to the rest! How do we sign up for it?!

    • It's 8845h not 8845hs, hs is more powerful

      • Habibi where did u get this from? No difference at all h model is china model and its the same side by side comparison of the hs (global)

  • Price drop to $1169 + as of this comment, Cashrewards 13% cashback
