      Let’s be honest… do crocs look good in any colour?

      I don’t own any but want some for home or the office (laxed dress code) but I also feel they may be comfy but it’s a sign I have given up all hope in my life lol

      • +5

        It's starts there… Next thing you're wearing them everywhere

      • These are my formal crocs. They rock. Amazon warehouse has <$30 crocs at times.

                  I've tried to keep it less technical so you can understand.

                  • @jv: No I'd like for you to teach me if that's ok. Where does pink sit on the colour spectrum?

                      @youfnc:

                      Where does pink sit on the colour spectrum?

                      Pink, a color that exudes charm, femininity, and tenderness, holds a special place in the symphony of colors. Let's explore its position on the color spectrum:

                      1. Pastel Pink: A very pale, cool pink often associated with Easter. Lighter than both light pink and baby pink, it has a Hex code of #FFD1DC and RGB values of 255, 209, 220¹.

                      2. Light Pink: A soft, pale shade traditionally dubbed a "little girl's color." It is a bit darker and warmer than pastel pink, with a Hex code of #FFB6C1 and RGB values of 255, 182, 193¹.

                      3. Cherry Blossom Pink: Resembling the blossoms of a cherry tree, this light shade shares similarities with light, baby, and pastel pinks. Its Hex code is #FFB7C5, and its RGB values are 255, 183, 197¹.

                      4. Bubblegum Pink: Reminiscent of the color of a traditional gumball, bubblegum pink is a little darker and cooler than baby pink. Its Hex code is #FFC1CC, and its RGB values are 255, 193, 204¹.

                      5. Baby Pink: Falling between pastel and light pink, baby pink is traditionally associated with baby girls. Its Hex code is #F4C2C2, and its RGB values are 244, 194, 194¹.

                      6. Dark Pink: A medium to dark shade with warm overtones and cool undertones. It can complement other colors beautifully. Dark pink's Hex code is #E75480, and its RGB values are 231, 84, 128¹.

                      7. Bright Pink: A vibrant, rich color that is lighter and cooler than neon pink but warmer and brighter than dark pink. Its Hex code is #FF007F, and its RGB values are 255, 0, 127¹.

                      8. Rouge: A dark, dusky purplish pink hue that can also be classified as a red or purple. It resembles a very dark shade of blush. Rouge's Hex code is #A94064, and its RGB values are 169, 64, 100¹.

                      Remember, the color wheel encompasses a wide range of hues, and pink finds its place among the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, adding its delightful touch to the spectrum³. 🌸

                @jv: True fact. White and black are not colours, they are shades. That’s what I was taught in school and a quick google search “are white and black colours” confirms that they are not. Pinks are part of the red colour spectrum and have been mixed with white.

                  @Skatez:

                  White and black are not colours, they are shades.

                  yep… cool

                  • +1

                    @jv: 💯
                    Those are some cool black shade shades 👌

                • @Skatez: That's why you can't buy black or white paint - obvious safety implications /s. Poor pandas are so confused.

                  Human light and colour perception is very complex. What colour is primary red in the absence of light? What colour is it if you shine a blue light on it? How about yellow on red? Butterfly wings are (can be) great examples of colour trickery. Are they really coloured?

                  The Pantone colour pallette is a useful tool is you're using colour for particular purposes. Not surprisingly they have a range of blacks and whites.

                  Frankly, whether you call black and white colours or not is - for most people - completely immaterial (lol). Interesting, but irrelevant for their needs.

                  • @Igaf: True true true. The effect of light in its original white form, partially in colour or absence of it is all part of how it works and yes it’s true it really isn’t very important information for most people. I was just backing JV on something I knew he was correct about. I like your series of questions too 👍

                    • +1

                      @Skatez: jv was only "correct" in one context, as I'm sure he/she/they knew well. Good discussion primer though.

                  • @Igaf:

                    The Pantone colour pallette

                    Proprietary though.

                • @Skatez: I'm not disputing pink is a colour.. JV posted an image of "7-colours-of-rainbow.webp" and another with pink included after I made a sarcastic comment. They claimed it was backed by science and mentioned the laws of physics. It wouldn't outrageous to assume they were referring to the visible light spectrum? I'm not sure where pink fits in there?

                  Schooling me by a linking colour wheel was just JV moving the goal posts.

                  Pinks are part of the red colour spectrum and have been mixed with white.

                  I absolutely agree. pink is an additive colour when mixing lights. Can you guess what colour is created when mixing all of them?

                  • @youfnc: Haha yeah the rainbow picture was lame. Is the answer to your question the “colour” black?

                    • +1

                      @Skatez: As a simpleton, yes I consider black and white both colours. I know I'm likely wrong as black is part of the subtractive colour theory but it's a lot easier not having to be that guy when people ask what colour my car is.

                      • +1

                        @youfnc: Not sure there's an option for 'No Colour' when you're registering or insuring it.

                        • @Igaf: You need to call and educate them

                          • +1

                            @youfnc: No thx, I share the ethos of simplicity, esp when it come to govt use/understanding of data.

                            Interestingly, the law seems to have no problems with calling black and white colours, even though the law itself is rarely black and white. Apparently there's some strange notion that context is critical.

                        • @Igaf: Actually the answer would be every colour.

                          • @Skatez: I assumed from his statement that his car was black, but yep, same problem. Imagine the clerical staffer's confusion if they saw 'None' or 'Every'.

                            • @Igaf: Is it raw steel? rainbow?

                    • +2

                      @Skatez: Wrong "shade", I'm afraid.

                      • @Igaf: Okay I guess you got me with the mixing lights even though I’ll have to take your word for it on the mixing as I’ve never seen every colour of light mixed together by a person. I already said before that white light is the original form (like from the sun) with all of the colours mixed together.

                        Obviously if you mix all of your colours of paint together then that would make black.

                        Also pink is a subtracted colour if you look at a pink painted car under sunlight.

                        • @Skatez: Plenty of info - worth perusing - to confirm it.

                          Easy for me to answer because it was embedded in early high school when students had to do parents' night presentations. My job was to demo a colour wheel (representing the colours of light), which when rotated at high speed showed the colours merging into an off white. Shows the value of hands on learning I guess.

                          Funny how some things stick in your memory. Same year the science teacher played an April Fools trick on us in a test. He had a diagram labelled with various letters and we had 5 questions to answer. IF you got them all correct (I didn't) your answer read FOOLS. I think I got something like FEOLS. I do remember some kids giggling before he called a halt to the test. They already knew.

                          • @Igaf: Well there you go. That colour light wheel sounds like a cool machine and a great example of mixing the light colours. Thanks for sharing your experience.

                            lol about his April Fools test. My science teacher was a real tripper too. Made me laugh a lot. Eating his chalk and scoops of Bio Zet.

                            • @Skatez: That IS weird.

                              Diet deficiency maybe? I've seen cattle eating soap and drinking soap suds for that reason.

                              • @Igaf: No he ate the chalk if he thought you weren’t paying attention. He would get angry and say “are you even listening to me?” and then eat the chalk he was writing on the blackboard with. The Bio Zet was later on in Year 12 chemistry. He was explaining that the ingredients were harmless to humans and probably even a bit nutritious. He sure knew how to make sure you were paying attention but yeah he was crazy. I looked him up on the internet many years later and he was still around with a lot more prestigious titles to his name so he must have been right about the laundry detergent. 😂
