  • Does it require a hub to work?

    • +2

No it uses WiFi. Highly rate this, I got one to replace the builder special door bell that came with the house. It uses the DC output that the old doorbell already had and connected to my WiFi without a problem.

Best part is, since it is hardwired it can stream to my NVR all day everyday. Works extremely well when you don't have an ethernet run to the doorbell.

Does it work without hard wore. I do t want any drilling

        • No it does not, I got caught on that, it needs a power source it does not have a battery.

  • If you've got an existing old school door bell chine, it's pretty easy to use the tools provided to install the Reolink. You just need to locate where your existing transformer is. I've had one of these since the start of the year and it's worked well overall. The only thing is that you need to adjust the sensitivity of it picking up every insect, tree branch swing and shadow that comes across the camera!

I’ve got the POE version and it’s great.
There’s a physical chime so it’ll work right out of the box.

It also works with the ReoLink and integration so you came HomeKit bridge it too.
Since mine is POE, I’ve isolated it to a subnet without network or internet access and can confirm it functions fine.

    • Is it easy to run ethernet cable to where you need it?

I bought my doorbell ages ago and haven't installed it. Thinking I should have gotten the wifi version

      • +1

Depends on the house, if you already have some kind of cable just tie the Ethernet cable to it and tank it through.
        It’s definitely stable signal

        • Yeah that's a good idea. Have an existing doorbell that I believe is wired.

Thinking I should have gotten the wifi version

You'll still need a power source/cable for the power.

Reolink has announced a battery version of the doorbell, but hasn't been released yet.

        • Wouldn't it work if I have it connected to an ethernet cable that goes to a router?

          • @TEER3X: The PoE Model will work as long as you have a PoE Switch/Injector.

  • Not seeing the coupon is it over?

  • Ordered this a week after ordering a camera and NVR from Reolink Australia and it arrived a few days ago . Still waiting for the camera and NVR to turn up .
