My only wish is that it had a turbo function. Otherwise it's probably the best controller available for the ps5. For PS4 games id go with the original fighting commander.

  Anyone know of any other PS5 controllers with extra mappable buttons (preferably back pedals) that isn’t the Sony one that costs $300+?

    8bitdo. Pro controller haven't got one myself but I imagine if you are looking at 3rd party controllers 8bitdo is one of the default brands to look at.

      As far as I know there are no 8bitdo controllers compatible with ps5.

      You'd need to use a brook converter as well to have any work on ps5.

  Turbo function would make it an illegal controller for tournament play in all the games I have played. I don't know why that restriction is enforced these days, I suspect it's just a hold over from E Honda hands and Chunners kick spam, but perhaps I am missing something with execution leniency.
