Looking to make our spare bedroom tv a bit smarter. What’s the cheapest chromecast-able device in HD on the market? Want to avoid mirroring and need it to be able to cast from our iPhone/android
Edit: sorry forgot to mention anything on the market besides Google chromecast or Google tv as I think it’s overkill for my use case. Just want a stick to plug into hdmi port and use my phone to cast

May not be the absolute cheapest thing out there, but it's also widely enough used that it's going to deliver a decent enough UI and performance.
Has a remote removing the need to cast most media source options also.

Second hand chomecast.
Chomecast is good. With CEC it'll turn your tv on whenever you cast anything too which is rather smart imo.
Chromecast with Google TV, although it's more expensive compared to firestick I prefer the system, and I can use my phone to turn off the TV. It's a lot easier to use a remote than having to pick up the phone to forward intro, change shows, etc

That's exactly what Chromecast is? They are like $50… not sure how that is overkill.

I think most would agree that after using the old CC's, and then switching to CCwGTV, that having a remote makes life so much easier all round
