Reolink RLC-520A 5MP PoE Camera (Expired) or RLC-510A 5MP PoE US$30.20 (~A$46.40) AU Stock Shipped @ Reolink Official AliExpress

600

Really low prices on these two Reolink PoE security cameras if you're looking to start off or add more cameras to your existing network. Since these are shipping from the AU warehouse, AliExpress aren't charging tax and if you have AliExpress coins you can get it as low as US$28.69. It's one per customer and I personally prefer the turret/dome design of the 520A instead of the bullet design of the 510A as it's more discrete.

Both feature a 5MP sensor with 2560x1920 resolution, PoE support, motion sensor, human/car detection, 18 IR LEDs with up to 30m night vision, inbuilt mic and IP66 water resistance.

You can power it with a PoE switch/injector or power adapter and for storage it supports a microSD card up to 256GB. It supports RTSP/ONVIF, FTP, NVR and playback/alerts through the Reolink app.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and stacks with cashback.

How to get the AU$ price in the title.

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

Also works very nicely with Home Assistant

    • +4

can confirm. also synology surveillance too

  • -1

Hoping for a repeat of this.

  • 4mm focal length is pre zoomed in compared to what some people may be used to be a typical 2.8mm so just do your research, wouldn’t cover a small room well

    • & thank you purchased!

  • Thanks OP. Got a 811A earlier. Big sale on. Almost got the nvr. Just gonna use my qnap for now. Not the same though.

  • Do they usually restock their items during a sale? Some other models I'm interested in but 0 stock left…

  • How do these compare to the Tapo C200 / C210 cams?

    • Totally different products

Tapo in an indoor camera with a normal power connection and can pan/tilt/zoom

Reolink is an outdoor unit powered by PoE

  • Thanks. Got one to try out

  • +2

Use the 520A with Frigate and Homeassistant. Works very well.

    • What are people installing frigate on?

      • +1

any potato with a coral accelerator :)

    • Oh yes? Because the Frigate page warns folks off using Reolink stuff - but it looks like it hasn't been updated for a couple of years

      • +2

Yes, it's super out of date. The problems were solved years ago.

        • aha ok thanks

  • 24AN05 coupon for over $60
You can try other coupons posted on the images
    $91.73 for a 2-pack

    • For some reasons code would only bring 2*520 to $100. Bought anyway as I was considering same on Amazon yesterday for $150… Thanks op

  • I’ve got some old cameras hooked up via Ethernet cable to a Dvr. Would I be able to simply remove them and connect these up?

    • It supports ONVIF so it should automatically detect these cameras once hooked up.

      • Got one last week. Didn't recognize it and had to enable in camera settings for the nvr to find it. Browser and enable as not in the app.

  • Looks like AU store out of stock now, defaults to China shipping for 32USD and I assume adds GST.

  • Does video get sent to China? What app?

    • +1

No, I have these and its saved locally to an SD card, or you can set up local backup too. You can pay for the cloud storage and then yes that probably goes to china

Reolink app but also works with Chromecast and I think Alexa

      • The Reolink cloud servers are hosted in AU for our region, however yes, it is a Chinese company so there's that. I've just vlanned/firewalled mine off (I don't need cloud) and they work well

    • +2

You can use cloud storage, but it's optional. It works fine completely locally with no internet connection.

    • It's not a concern if you know how to firewall your cameras. You can isolate them in the network and preventing them from initiating connections to the Internet.

    • The Reolink app captures your clipboard data every time you open it, Android displays a popup warning when an app accesses it. God knows what else they're capturing from peoples phones.

  • Have a 12MP RLK8-1200D4-A system, which comes with a 2TB HDD.. is there any way, I can extend the storage ? as I am getting just 8 days of data before it gets rewrited.

    • +1

Yep you can install a new 3.5" hard drive inside the NVR and officially supports up to 12TB. Normally you'd use a WD Purple as it's designed for video surveillance but I've had no issues using WD Red or other enterprise drives.

There's heaps of deals coming and going.

      • Thanks Clear..much appreciated

        • Officially supports 12tb but your milage may vary.
I got their RLN36 purely for the 3 HDD bays and have installed 3 22tb drives in it despite only being listed as supporting 16tb.
Across all the cameras thats about 4 months of storage with 24/7 recording.

Insanely good price - but 4mm is killer for some places

  • -1

2 for $72 last year. This year expect for a lower price or same price at least?

    • -1

Expect higher prices from China now. Their economy isn't as good anymore.

      • Shouldn't that mean more desperation and bigger discounts like the EV race to the bottom?

        • And yet we're getting the worst sales from AliExpress. According to my account manager they're wanting to maximise profits and lost too much in sales last year.

  • Thanks op, bought a couple.

    • How much did it cost you?

  • Noob here.

If I get two, what do I need to get started? A really long cst 6 ethernet cable (rated for outdoors) from my router to this? Is that all?

    • It needs PoE (power over ethernet) from the ethernet cable. So it needs to go to a router/switch that supports PoE. Or use the power adapter option and then the ethernet is just for connectivity.

Also, cable can be cat5, it doesn’t really matter. Some systems dislike stranded cable for PoE, not ran into that problem personally as I use solid core ethernet cable.

      • Does anyone know where i can get good quality in wall certified poe cables?

        • +1

I've always just used standard cat 5. Never had an issue. Or cat 6 depending on price.

      • Thanks mate

    • When you click on the anniversary sale tab in the aliexpress reolink store and scroll down, you should see this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006358580415.html?spm=a2… , uplink goes into your router, other ports go to your cameras and will provide both data and power connectivity via the one ethernet cable to your camera's. Disclaimer, not using one of these myself.

  • 510A sold out. Think I got the last 520A. Excellent price when needing to add another camera to a system.

    • 510A still instock here.

Edit: AU stock sold out of 520A* and I've been blocked from editing my own deal so the mods can go fix it.

      • Do you have a link to the 510A in stock? It was showing as in stock but once I logged in the price jumped to about $70.

        • Have you purchased one already?

          • @Clear: I purchased a 520A but would like a 510A for another area.

            • @tonydav: That would be why. The discount is only one per account.

              • @Clear: Nah. I hadn't purchased the 520 when it removed the 510. But doesn't matter. Really only needed one and the 520 will do the job.

              • @Clear: Cheers for the info.

Was wondering why the price shot up after purchasing one.

  • I have been running 5 of these for a couple of years
    .

  • Any idea if these can be placed / taped with the base down rather than hanging upside down ? I have an outdoor light box that this can be taped on if that is an option.

  • +1

Anyone used these to replace aging hikvision cameras with a hik nvr ?

    • In theory these should work fine with a Hikvision NVR for recording footage, but might not get all the extra features.

  • these are limited to 1 per account/order? i need x4

    • +1

      1 per account.

  • mine just arrived, and can't connect to reolink NVR RL8-410, it said connect failed, any idea?

    • Got same camera and waiting for same NVR. Tried another Ethernet cable or other port? Got 2 cameras without nvr. One on Poe switch and one on Poe injector. Picked up the 811a automatic. Let you know when it arrives if any issues. Gonna be another week or so.

    • +1

Mine opens up quick on the app. Just manually updated to 23102301 through the app. On app it was the newest firmware. Not sure what BlueIris is.

Edit: with mine (not BlueIris) I had to enable the ONVIF RTSP when remotes into camera on browser using its IP as it wasn't enabled by default. After enabled it worked in my qnap

    • +1

You're not viewing it on clear or high quality mode if you think the quality is poor in the app. That's to save bandwidth.

Mikael is right about ONVIF. It's off by default.

    • +1

@StiSupafly did you get it to work?
Look at refresh rate. Try 50hz. Might be set to 60.

      • +2

Thanks for letting me know yeah found the ONVIF option so now working via RTSP streams etc! Appreciated 🙏🏻
