      Use the Add Funds feature from your bank to beef up your PayPal balance. Then, when you go to send the payment, select to pay from a card only. Your available balance will be used up and the remainder charged to your card. Since you've now sent only a single payment, you remain eligible for the Purchase Protection Program in regards to having sent only a single payment!

        Digital Coles Prepaid MC doesn't support Apple/Google Wallet. Activ Visa does.

          Unfortunately, Visa cards are just as susceptible to hacking as Mastercard gift cards.

            @Nelumbo: Bummer. I didn't recall previously seeing hacking complaints about Activ Visa, however can now find some isolated comments about it, and the general warning from freepoints:-

            Are they easily hacked like the Mastercard gift cards from Coles?

            All prepaid Visa and Mastercard gift cards are susceptible to BIN attacks. It’s always a good idea to use them as quickly as you can, even if the chances of your cards being compromised are very low.

    we bought couple of these CNY $8 cashback on $88 gift cards still yet honoured the $8 bonus. mediocre email customer response

    already regret for blindly follow them during new year.

      Did you email Giftz or Microgifts?

      In the past, Microgifts’ phone service proved to be helpful when I had issues with their gift card. Maybe phone them and you might get a resolution? Try 1300 000 889.

      On the PayPal screen, what is PayPal trying to your gift card?

      • The face value of the Activ Visa gift card?
      • The face value of the Activ Visa gift card + the purchase fee?

      If it is the latter, refresh the checkout page on Giftz.com.au and then click on the PayPal button on the checkout.

      You can check what PayPal is trying to charge to your card by clicking on the PayPal button at checkout, then looking at the small text at the bottom of the PayPal page where you select the card to charge.

        another update, I refreshed and it let me proceed. paypal put an auth charge of $250 but giftz returned with error "Transaction declined. Please contact your Bank or use another card".

        I think paypal will refund back to Coles MC

      Paypal just worked fine for me with Coles MC. But yes the Giftz site has been bugged for a while now with Paypal.
      After applying the coupon code at checkout you need to return to the cart page, then checkout again (coupon already applied).
      Think the reason for this is the checkout doesn't update the total properly for Paypal when you first apply the code.

        I can see my cart says $250. Paypal put a charge but giftz.com says payment failed. I will try again after paypal returns the charge

          Even though the total is correct on the checkout page you still need to return to the cart page specifically after applying the code https://giftz.com.au/shoppingCart
          And yeh unfortunately after a failed payment you need to wait for the funds to become available again

                  @ozbargainerlife1: Note sure why you are having this issue, I assume you were able to link the prepaid card in Paypal successfully?
                  Can't of think anything else I'm doing differently, except I'm not checking out as a guest on Giftz (I have a Giftz account). I'm also using Firefox on desktop.

          It's Activ Visa that is blocking, not other way around. Card issuers can block whatever they want based on Merchant Category Code (MCC)

          OnlyONE Visa gift cards (another prepaid gift card scheme owned by Blackhawk Network) have been blocking transactions at the ATO for a number of years.

      Just purchase $250 cards in 3 separate orders using the method in my comment above.
      The coupon can be used multiple times until you hit the $2500 limit (Note it includes the card fee in the limit).

      Does not work on ATO.

      It won't work where the 3D secure of whatever additional security is triggered online.

      Other than that, I have had no issues using them anywhere and everywhere.

If the Card is a Category Visa Gift Card, it can only be used at the Visa Merchant Groups described on the Card and/or carrier and the website.

      In addition to the comments above:

      • You cannot use this gift card at pay-at-the-pump machines (i.e. the machines at unattended service stations where you pay for fuel, in particular Costco).

      • You cannot use this gift card instore at Woolworths to purchase a small number of gift cards (e.g. WISH gift cards). This is enforced by Woolworths, not Blackhawk Network.

      • You are officially not allowed to use Activ Visa gift cards to purchase any gift cards or vouchers at any merchants (although I am not sure if/how Blackhawk Network enforces that).

    I observed these Activ cards (including SM, restaurant) are restricted to add many on iPhone wallet, probably only mine :)
    I couldn't add any Activ more than 3months now.

      I tried again today, think my SB was flagged for 1day.

      still couldn't add Activ to SB directly, but ok to buy GC (SM & 7-11) via wallet.
