  • No USB C right ?

  • Does anyone know if we can claim WFH tax deduction on these? I plan on buying one for my home office and use it to replace my old 2k monitor.

    • +1

Yes, why not, it will be treated as any other monitor used for work

  • Am eyeing for a 27" but torn between 1440p or 4k. Never used 4k before, currently on a 32" G3223D.
Planning on going dual with a 27" as my main and a 24" as secondary.
I game occasionally but still using a 1660ti, it might still be awhile till I upgrade my GPU from the looks of current prices but that might change if there's a good deal on a 4070.
Thoughts, anyone? Stick to 1440p or jump to 4k?

    • Why do you want 4k? Seems overrated to me and you may get scaling issues. The text is tiny, assume you'd have to go 200% or something in the windows settings. 1440p is perfect for 27" and probably cheaper (and better refresh rate than 4k).

      • Well I thought that would be the next step up logically, didn't think about the scaling issue though. So 4k on a 27" would be overkill eh? Alrighty then, thanks for the input!

        • Just my opinion, depends how much extra 4k would cost. For a 32' I'd consider it, but not at the expense of refresh rate (if you do play the occasional game).

          • @G-rig: Yeah I've had a 32" for over 2 years and although I do like the extra real estate but I find myself wanting a dedicated screen in portrait mode as a reference screen for my work while I use landscape mode to organise my other windows.

            • @ps3udo: Would be nice.
              3x 27 be good

              • @G-rig: gosh i wish i had the space for 3!

                • @ps3udo: yeah be nice for racing games
2x curved 32" 165Hz are great for general purpose, tested once for forza horizon 5 but bit hard to look at the bezel in the middle
(although guess F1 cars are the same)

                  • @G-rig: These go alright for racing sims too.

                  • @G-rig: talking about bezels, are there any monitors with really thin bezels that don't make it glaringly obvious when placed side by side?

                    • @ps3udo: No idea mate, but you'd think they could surely do it by now if phone screens can go tocyh the edge. Then I'd fire up both of mine for games. Last time I tried it, all the settings got cocked up when I reverted to the normal windows setup (NVIDIA, rtx2060s).

                      • @G-rig: oh I didn't know the settings could get messed up on a dual monitor setup

                        • @ps3udo: Was talking about a special mode, something in the NVIDIA control panel

  • Could some please send me a Dell student code for this. Would very much appreciated this!

    • I can send you mine if you enable pm's.

      • Much appreciated zachhambo! I manage contact a family friend and got a code. Will enable PMs for further though. Thank you once again

      • Hey mate can you PM me your code!

  • Any more spare codes floating around, happy to compensate for the trouble.

Was looking to upgrade from a 24" 1080p monitor so ended up biting the bullet, arrived earlier this week. Ngl, was worried for a second with all the reports of issues on arrival, but can happily say mine came with no problems. I was tempted to wait it out and see if would ever go back to the $499 deal, but paired with the student discount, I felt it was close enough to the point if it did drop in price again I'd have little regrets about it.

  • Just bought one and use this 7% off code "$LQP97JK82?1Z?"

i bought one a while back - excellent monitor, the price to value was incredible. Only thing I've noticed is the viewing angles are pretty average on darker images. I don't have other IPS monitors to compare with, but the backlighting bleeds out of the corners pretty bad unless you're looking at a white screen (e.g. the ozbargain comments page). can also be noticeable if you don't have the monitor height aligned with the height of your eyes.
Despite this, still excellent monitor and great value for money. Excellent balance for both work (reading text) and gaming. I'll only ever be upgrading if an oled comes out at an excellent price.
