  • I noticed this was posted earlier in the morning, but then removed .. i am really interested to know why, as it seems a super solid deal?!

    "This deal is not published.
Samsung Smart Keyless Digital Deadbolt Door Lock (SHS-3321) $198 (Was $348) @ Bunnings (Requested by OP)"

    • The OP can unpublish their deal so long as there are no comments on it, and within a 5 Min grace period. I do not know why the OP unpublished it though.

      • yeah i understand - it's more the "why" that intrigues me ;)

Maybe they didn't want to get ozbargained before being able to grab one themselves :)

I don’t recommend this product, I use this one and the front face of the lock is tempered glass which is big failure, as the glass starts damaging due to direct sunlight. You can see nothing during daytime to unlock the door.

    • Thanks for this, was considering buying but my front door has direct sunlight for like 6 hours a day so this would be a deal breaker!

    • Thanks for sharing. We have an internal door to the garage that is not showered by direct sunlight - will this lock be good for such location? Have you experienced any other issues with this lock?

      • Same situation as me. Would like to know if someone can tell.

      • I think for the price its a good entry level lock if its not going to be used in direct sunlight. I plan to use mine for garage entry. The price of some of the other smart locks is ridiculous.

Hi, I am using one on my internal door from the garage leading into the house. Worked well for the past 5 years and only changed the batteries once.

Never failed to work. Flawless operation and I bought it off Gumtree second hand for $100 :)

        • cheers mate for that feedback!

Edit: took the chance and bought one!

I have two similar Samsung locks with tempered glass installed a few years ago. The one in direct sunlight - the glass has deteriorated as "deal4life" said above. The other is perfectly fine - internal door from garage to house - never in direct sunlight and perfect.

We are on our second samsung smart lock, we have been using this one for the last few years after our first Samsung lock died (mechanically) which I just discovered may still be under warranty. 7 years for mechanical failure seems pretty good?? Have loved both locks, the only flaw we see is the model we currently have does not have a sensor to know when the door is closed whereas our previous one did. This causes an issue for us due to the autolock feature, it will activate even if the door is opened and then barrell stays out. Otherwise no issues, super handy if you've never had a smart lock before its like tap and go on your mobile you wont remember what you did without it.

We have this on the front door. I find it annoying, you cant just run out for the mail without either leaving the door open or hold and then wait for the lock. Then when you come back you have either mozzies, a could house or you need to enter the code again.
I would get one with a handle or use it for a secondary entrance.

We now use the garage as our main entrance.

sorry mate i kinda lost you - do u mean the lock is slow to respond?

    • Can you extend the auto close feature timing? I have a Lockly one on my front door and you can customise options in the settings menu via the Bluetooth app

    • I have this on my front door. I didn't install the magnetic sensor that auto locks the unit and I added a non locking door handle so we can avoid this problem.

If I want to lock the door on my way out, I close it and just touch the screen.

      Works perfectly for us.

  • Anyone ever set up your smartphone to unlock with this device? I have read some phones can be set up to use Near Field Communication to act as a Radio Frequency Identification tag.

    • qurious to know

  • Are these good for main entry door in an apartment building??

Doubtful strata would approve as they're not fire rated or something.

I just hide spare key under a rock, worked from last 10 years.

  • Excellent, now just need a smart lock for my security screen door.

  • Is this better or worse than Ultraloq u bolt pro? $150ish usually: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/294926271809

Also could someone recommend me a smart lock for a sliding patio door?

  • Or grid lock from bunnings

  • We bought the lockset and upon looking at the instructions it says that it requires a door thickness of 35mm and above. Unfortunately our door is 32.5mm thereabout. Are we out of luck?

Edit: Took a chance to install it. Works fine!

  • I would definitely agree with deal4life and not recommend this product. We have a similar one with the tempered glass and is exposed to sunlight…it has been installed for less than 2 years and there are major cracks in the glass, all occuring around the area where we press our pin number…making it a major security flaws as well.
