@TerryJustTerry: its only 10% of the difference, so like ~$1, just CW is more convenient for me than TW

I'm no expert but don't the dosages (120mg extract for the ashwagandha and 105mg magnesium) seem a bit low?

I feel like you could save just by buying these individually and picking pretty much any of the individual products on amazon

      Yep something like this https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/98237/wagner-ashwaga…

Twice the dose of ashwaganda and double the pills. Magnesium, depending on the type can be bought very cheaply and goes on sale regularly.

    • Ya ashwagandha is usually 300mg or 300x2.

There's different "versions" but less is not very effective and more is also somewhat toxic to the liver (it's basically always liver or kidneys).

be careful with ashwagandha, people die from it.

why the downvotes? This study shows a death rate 37.5% https://journals.lww.com/hepcomm/fulltext/2023/10010/ashwaga…

How did you get a 37.5% mortality rate? 23 presented with ashwagandha induced liver injury over 3 years of which 3 died.
Also if you look at average dosage, they were on ridiculous amounts a day for over a month. Up to 15g a day with an average 45 days of use.

        • 37.5% is literally in the paper. Also this study is a documented source. There are also National health institutes in Europe who warn for the dangers of ashwagandha as multiple people died with a direct link to the usage of the herb.
And you say the dosage is a ridiculous amount, you know this but not everybody knows this and clearly people did use these amounts so a warning is in place.

Are you reading what you post?

    • with overconsumption, even water is fatal. in your link which looks sus, it says people consumed multiple gms per day which is madness.

      • the amount of water you need to drink to be fatal is a bit more and a bit more difficult to the amount of ashwagandha which can be letal.

        • Be fair, if you have too much panadol, it can be lethal as well. Panadol overdose is relatively common i have heard (and there is a reason why you are recommended to not take more than 6? 8? In 24 hours).

What is and isn't lethal also depends on your medical conditions (I for example cannot take potassium supplements, because of my blood pressure meds).

Have a chat with your GP about your supplements as well, they are the medical experts (or at least ones who are paid for those advices).

Of the three that died, only one of them was on a high dose, but he was consuming a homemade root powder, and it takes about 6g of root powder to make a 500mg pill of the extract, so his dosage was not that excessive all things considered.
