Not bad but shit resell value

Why are you reselling TVs? Who buys TVs to resell. Are you not using it for its useful lifespan?

      • Upgrade in 2 years time.
        Kogan = no resell value
        Samsung = ? 50 to 60% value

    • I’m sure the chances of returning this to Kogan because of its quality is higher than reselling it after a few years.

      • are kogan tvs really that bad, I really want to buy this and use it as a pc monitor in the future?

      • Kogan wont do anything after 2 years.
At that time the value of the TV with be $0.
People try to give them away on marketplace and nobody wants them

One review suggests: "The built in OS is locked to 1080p 60hz and the HDMI inputs can do 1080p 144hz OR 4K 60hz. Not both. Tested with a desktop computer and a NVIDIA Shield TV Pro."
    Deal breaker for me.

Fairly misleading to advertise it as 4k 144hz tv

  • +7

    Specifications nowhere mention 4k 144hz

    Computer Supported Resolutions 3840 x 2160, 640 × 360 @60Hz, 853 x 480 @60Hz, 1024 x 576 @60Hz, 1280 x 720 @60Hz, 1366 x 768 @60Hz, 3840 x 2160 @60Hz

    • Specs has been updated: Computer Supported Resolutions 640 × 360 @60Hz, 853 x 480 @60Hz, 1024 x 576 @60Hz, 1280 x 720 @60Hz, 1366 x 768 @60Hz, 3840 x 2160 @60Hz, 3840 x 2160 @144Hz. See @KGN comment below.

      • 640 × 360 @60Hz, 853 x 480 @60Hz, 1024 x 576 @60Hz, 1280 x 720 @60Hz, 1366 x 768 @60Hz, 3840 x 2160 @60Hz, 3840 x 2160 @144Hz

So it supports 144hz at 4k but not at 640p? or 1080p? This is a weird setup for sure.

Something fishy is here for sure!

        • I understand the confusion, 4K 144Hz is the upper limit, therefore it should support anything below it like 1080p @144Hz or 2K @144Hz. @KGN can we get this clarified on product desc?

          • @flickr: Yeh that needs to be checked and with how things are going (terrible look), you are better off deleting the post, and reposting when the information is accurate and not misleading.

      • +2

This TV supports 4k but not 1080 resolution? Would be the first one in history.

        • lol the whole listing is messed up, I wouldn't trust Kogan after this horrible ad.

          • @itsmoe: Me neither. Looks like an unprofessional google translated description from aliexpress

  • Computer Supported Resolutions 3840 x 2160, 640 × 360 @60Hz, 853 x 480 @60Hz, 1024 x 576 @60Hz, 1280 x 720 @60Hz, 1366 x 768 @60Hz, 3840 x 2160 @60Hz

  • 10 foot pile

How are they allowed to advertise it as 144hz if it's 60hz Max at 4K?
    Misleading.

  • +3

As others have said here, they mention 4k 144Hz in the title of the listing yet its supported resolutions only state 60Hz. So when does this actually run at 144Hz? It also only has HDMI 2.0, which maxes out at 4k 60Hz.

    • The specs has been updated, HDMI 4 x 2.1 3840 x 2160 @144Hz

  • misleading advertising

  • +3

Thank you all for your feedback.
We’ve confirmed with our product team that this TV supports 4K resolution at 144Hz.
The list of supported resolutions was incorrect and we’ve updated the product listing to reflect the correct TV specifications.
We apologise for any confusion caused.

    • Thanks for the clarification @KGN

    • +2

      I call bullsh!t.

The TV manual specifies HDMI 2.0 which is not capable of supporting 4k at 144hz, only HDMI 2.1 will support that.

      • The user manual is also being updated and will reflect the specs on the listing very soon.

        • +2

They should upload a video somewhere proving the claim, good price if it does run 144hz @ 4k

        • +1

A lot easier to falsify your manual than it is to meet these specs…

      • Thanks for clarifying @KGN. @Switchblade88 the spec has now been updated to HDMI: 4 x 2.1.

        • Does it also support 4k at 120hz? PS5 doesn't support variable refresh rate from what I know.

          • @itsmoe: A quick google would tell you that the PS5 does indeed support VRR and has done for a while now.

            • @XVX: Was that introduced with the latest update?

              • @itsmoe: Nah, it was added in April of 2022, so pretty much 2 years back.

Check your product before you post.. Reputation is important

    • +6

Don't think Kogan had a good reputation to begin with.

    • +2

This train has left the station a long time ago

  • +1

Worst customer support. No live chat or phone number. Wait weeks for a reply to email. When you do get a reply, it's not related to your issue and another run around with emails.

Can't just send an email, have to attach pics even though it's related to item not being sent or not honoring points.

Totally regret buying from them and still waiting for Qantas points from purchase in August 2023.

  • I wonder which panel this TV has. Surely there aren't too many manufacturers of QLED panels.
