[SUBS, Prime] “Land of Bad” Added to Stream @ Prime Video

210

Drone warfare bad.
Starring Aussie actors in major roles.
Watching it now.

Director William Eubank known for “Broken City” and “The Signal”.

I remember watching Broken City with Crowe, Wahlberg it was good. The signal was kind of weird but had a good ending.

Me thinking how are these movies on streaming platforms "FREE TO STREAM" when you pay a monthly subscription ?

    • +1

I remembered the previous post title wrong. Last two say available or added to stream. Will fix it now.

I literally just pulled it up on Prime video app and before I clicked play it said “Free to stream on Prime” so that made me think that’s what the previous titles said. My bad.

I’m also constantly offered Free trials for prime so technically I’m watching it for free right now. 😁

They should be called 'new releases' at best, just like in the video shops back in the day.

      • yeah good point.
honestly while here I checked a bunch of previous posts and it’s all over the place.

Free to stream, free to watch, added to stream, available to stream.

Tags also have streaming service addition, video on demand. Never all or both. So yeah nobody seems to know what needs to be put in title and tags.

        • I mean it is free to watch if you have a paid subscription but so it's everything on there. However there are all these pay extra to rent or buy bs offered by Google/YouTube and whoever else that are the real new titles (or still at the movies). I don't like all the optional sub-su scriptions offered by Amazon either, be good if you could turn all those off.

Haven't seen it, IMDb 6.5 means pretty average (but usually watchable if nothing else on). Didn't mind Roadhouse. Likewise Ricky Staniky for something brainless and easy to watch.

          • @G-rig:

I mean it is free to watch if you have a paid subscription but so it's everything on there.

yea sorry not trying to speak on that just on how these are sorted on ozbargin. Like if you click on the tag “streaming service addition” you don’t see all of them. I guess it’s more of catch it scrolling in the “New deals” section thing.

as I said in a previous comment above im on a month of free prime right now so im technically watching it free right now. honestly stuff being hidden behind a paywall when you are paying for sub is a scam imo.

            • @harshbdmmaster718: Yeah either way they are hardly deals, more of a PSA if you weren't aware of a new release becoming available to that service. I don't mind seeing them but you can make the subs not visable.

      • 1 for $6, or 3 for $10 (Mon-Fri).

Only good if they were returned on time.

        • And don't forget to rewind the tapes

          • @shmahoo: Yes. These people were so inconsiderate and lazy.

I remember one dimwit, complained when he was fined for not rewinding the tape on his cassettes. He said the rewind on his vcr was broken. ???
            Selfish twat.

  • Watching it now.

    jv:- Is it any good?

Pretty standard military on the ground/mission room movie so far.

I remember a similar movie with Crowe called Body of Lies which was very good so hard to beat that tbh. My expectations are lower, literally just clicked watch because new release and less than a month of free trial left.

      Ok about halfway in now.

tbh I try to avoid this kind of approach to judging war movies but it’s really coming off as “this is how we use drones to keep our soldiers safe in combat”.
nothing like the story that’s smartly told in Body of lies, so much more happened in that movie halfway in. if you know Body of lies and think that was a decent movie I would say avoid this one.

      • I'll watch this any way. Its Russell f%$+×n Crowe. after all.
        smartphone friendly link

        • im at the point now dude is interrogating him demanding to know where the shmungus is. poor guy doesn’t know dude.

      • Body of lies was good.
Leo carried that movie. Russel was to big to move

    Solid 3.1 on Letterboxd

No need for meat this Black Friday, this will fill you with all the testosterone you need 💪🏻

Watch “Roadhouse” if you want bro energy. I wrote my review for it at the bottom of that post.

      • Don't think it will be for me. These things rarely are.

However, a recent exception for me was the movie Warrior starring Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy. Check that out if you care to

Here’s the link I missed it twice looking for it just now because it’s a few movies in the post.

Thanks for the recommend. Funny I never heard of that movie ever.

        • Warrior was a sick movie. Joel is such an underrated actor

    • Plant based food here on good Friday.

Better not throw on this movie then. These boys are definitely BEEFY

    What a name…

    • +1

So they can build to the sequel Sea of Good before ending on Air of Apathy

    • yes because pro military propaganda means those you are fighting in another land = enemy bad.

every non descript foreign enemy that’s headshot and turned into pink mist deserves a hoo rah!

  • The movie shot in QLD, hence many Aussie actors in this movie speak American English. It was an ok action movie.

  • TV 0 - 1 Crowe’s Golf Club 😬

  • Ok I’m done guys. Might as well delete this post. (spoilers for bad movie below)

the clutch moment is the military phone not having enough reception to call off a drone strike on their own man. meanwhile mission control is watching a NBA basketball game and yelling and cheering uh oh can’t pickup phone. at the same moment a pregnant Crowe is choosing items at the grocery store reading labels and saying stuff like “plant based feta” I’m not (profanity) kidding 😂

I wanted to like it because of the Aussie actors but no..

if you a true blue Aussie then just stream the movie on the TV while you do other stuff to support it I guess.

yeah this should be a regular thing

Ozbb recommends shit ass movies so we can all pan it together (after you 'obtain' it somewhat allegedly legally)

yeah this movie is a paint by the numbers 'US miltiary war machine good' type 'arabs bad' movie.

It has just about every modern war movie, fps shooter trope… guns failing in the middle of a fight… random executions that make no sense… the young colonels and majors who are incompetant and the older captains who deny promotions so they dont have a 'desk job'…

it seems like crowe is doing a steven seagal in that he's taking roles where he can sit down as he's too pregnant to move around much

also random hemsworth brother getting it in the neck was probably worth it

  • The real deal I see here is me searching in YIFY and downloading instead of subscribing.

    • Do yourself a favour and setup stremio+RD at least, wouldn't feel like 2008 searching and downloading stuff before you can even watch it..

I still probably won't bother, reviews sound pretty awful and don't need another USA patriotic pile of crap movie to watch.

      • ironically this was subsidised by the aust. federal govt. and qld govt.

        • That's fine, just don't need to see more USA is the best bs.

Probably doesn't hurt to watch it then, for some local locations and actors.

Would rather watch the mule again though, good one of you haven't seen it (Stan or the high seas)

  • I don’t think I would have made it through the first half if I didn’t personally work on the film, so wanted to see it through.

But I’m glad I stuck it out, the second half was actually pretty great!

    • You worked on it? In what capacity?

      • +1

        I did some on-set graphics :)

        • That's pretty cool. Have always wanted to do similar.

  • Average at best

  • +1

Road House was better…even made me go watch the original.

  • Bad movie is bad.
Should have paid watchers to watch it.
Not free. 90+ minutes of life cost.

    • Always worth checking the IMDb rating first..

  • Just watched it and thought it was pretty good, surprised didn't do too well at box.

  • 'Anyone but you' is bit girly and stuff but some nice Australian locations too which was nice.

  • Typical 'stranded behind enemy line' movie. Crowe had an easy gig tho, his scenes consisted of sitting in a small office (flying drone), pushing a trolley in a supermarket, picking up a phone in the rec room 2x. Mean while the youngsters are out there in bush, cave, shooting each other, blood sweat and tears.
