Pandemonium Rocks Music Festival Ticket Holder Compensation: Claim a $70 Voucher, Hoodie, Free Ticket or $70 Refund

60

Just letting existing ticket holders that there is a small amount on compensation available due to the removal of key bands in the lineup.

This is for the pandemonium rocks festival on in various states in a few weeks.

Note that by accepting the deal above u may relinquish your right to a full refund under accc consumer law.

This may help some ticket holders who may not have heard about the compensation.

If you want a full refund you probably need to email the event/ oztix and then call your bank for a chargeback as full refunds should be available when headliners are cancelled ( placebo and deep purple).

Here is a link to the accc form too https://www.accc.gov.au/about-us/contact-us/report-a-consume…

Need to apply by Friday it says.

The whole festival has been a mess but looks like it’s still going ahead with Blondie Alice cooper etc.

Lot of hate for promoter Andrew McManus on the fb and reddit groups.

    This isn't a deal, it's a PSA. Better off in the forums?

    • It’s a deal if you have already bought a ticket. If u don’t accept the deal u get nothing..unless u seek full refund

        Getting a refund for a product being different to advertised is absolutely not a deal lmao

        You automatically get a companion ticket if you do nothing, so you don't get nothing for not acting.

        • An extra ticket isn’t much use if you don’t know about it or miss the email us it?

  • Unfortunately I got a two for one ticket so apparently I'm not eligible for a refund

    • Ditto. believe I'm yelling at them all week.

      Thank (profanity) for Blondie, Alice, and Wolfmother. Defo bummed about deep purple and even dead Kennedy's but I seem to be the only person who didn't give a (profanity) about placebo, so really for me, I'll miss deep purple and otherwise carry on business as usual

      But gimme my money back you (profanity)

      • They send out the email to u even if you got 2-1 but it is unclear if it counts as a promo discount.

    McManus is notorious for sucking people in with certain bands and not delivering.

  • Yeah, Im trying to get a refund through lodging a dispute with my credit card company on the basis that the product was not as described.

  • Merged from Pandemonium Festival Line up Halved, but No Offer of a Refund by The Promoters

    The Pandemonium Rocks festival will no longer feature acts such as Deep Purple, Placebo, and Dead Kennedys.
    The festival has shrunk to a single-stage event and two of its venues have changed following media reports it would be cancelled altogether.
    Festival boss Andrew McManus says ticketholders will most likely be eligible for a $70 refund or a free ticket to the event.
    What the reduced lineup look like:
    OUT
    * Placebo
    * Deep Purple
    * Dead Kennedys
    * Gang Of Four
    * Gyroscope
    * Petch

    IN
    * Blondie
    * Alice Cooper
    * The Psychedelic Furs
    * Wolfmother
    * Cosmic Psychos
    * Wheatus
    * Palaye Royale

    Essentially we are getting half of what we have paid for, and in my opinion we are left with sub par acts. I'm sorry but if I wanted to listen to a 78 year old lady squeal, I'd spend the day with my Mum.

    I have requested a refund from OzTix and the promoters, I am thinking about approaching the ACCC and my credit card company to see if they can assist in getting a refund.

    Any other suggestions?

      Placebo was the only reason I would have considered going. Damn shame.

      It does feel like you were sold a ticket on one premise and then another was delivered. You should be able to argue that you bought a ticket specifically for an act that is no longer on the bill and thus get a refund.

        Thanks @Pikaloo,

        I've just sent this email, hopefully I'll get a response. Also checking with my bank to see if there is any recourse.

        Dear Pandemonium promoter,

        I am writing to follow up on a recent request for a refund made through the chat feature on the Apex website.

        As per Australian Consumer Law ACCC Link, consumers are entitled to a refund when an event organiser chooses to cancel an event or makes a major change to it. In light of this, I formally request a refund of $260.00 for the event in question.

        I kindly request that you provide me with a suitable response before the close of business on April 12, 2024. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution by that date, I will be left with no choice but to escalate this matter further with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

        Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your prompt response.

        Best regards,

      "You are such a Dirtbag for calling us sub par" - Wheatus.

      • +1

        a 30+ year old dirtbag

    • Wolfmother always put on a good show. But yeah they've replaced an A-list line up with the B-list. Can't really justify the same ticket price.

    • I thought Wolfmother broke up after Joker and the Thief?

      • +1

        I thought that to but they are touring again.

        The promoters theme song "Joker and the Thief"

    • my gran's attending. said she'd be more than happy to meet up with you there

      • I was always going to stay away from the Blondie stage, I don't like the smell of camphor balls. Now all of the acts are on the one stage.

    • Honestly the new lineup sounds better.

    • Why did so many acts pull out? Or were they never actually confirmed but promoted?

  • +2

    Chargeback via bank, don't give Andrew McManus a cent.
    The ToS is scummy as hell, too - says no refunds.
