Works on all MagSafe iPhones 15/14/13/12 series but if you have a case your case needs to be MagSafe as well. If you have a normal plastic case it wont work and wont magnetically stick.

this is one of the newer models that was released ‎12 November 2023.

the USB-C port works both ways so you can charge with a cable non wirelessly as well.

5000mAh isnt much but at least it will be light weight to carry around.

5,000mAh cell capacity provides 0.8 iPhone 14 charges, 0.85 iPhone 14 Pro charges, 0.61 iPhone 14 Pro Max charges, and 0.6 iPhone 14 Plus charges.

Compatibility

iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 mini.

  • iPhone 14 = 3,279 mAh

"5,000mAh cell capacity provides 0.8 iPhone 14 charges"

Even with a ludicrous 20% loss (usually closer to 5-10%) for an inefficient boost circuit, thats still 4000mAh available, which should be well more than 1 charge. Especially since iPhones dont let you truly deplete their battery, so its probably closer to 3000mAh usable….

    Something doesnt add up.

probably energy lost through heat from wireless charging. I think you are making the calculation as if it is a normal wired powerbank. the main use of this product is as a MagSafe wireless power bank.

also Anker claims 90% capacity after 20 months use maybe the powerbank doesnt fully deplete its battery either to keep its battery healthy.

    • I think this would be when also charging wirelessly… "Only" 20% loss via a MagSafe charger would actually be very impressive.

      • True, it doesnt state how you're charging it…. I just assumed usb.

I mentioned the USB-C port works both ways (charge powerbank and output) but most who buy wireless powerbanks will only use the port to charge the power bank.

main convenience of these is you just slap it on the back and charge. so using them with the MagSafe magnetic wireless charge is how it should be advertised.

I have a different MagSafe one and I find it very handy compared to my 13000mAh and a cable which is a bit wonky and awkward when you move it around.

one benefit of the USB-C output though is in a situation where you need as much charge as you can get (maybe on a trip) you can charge with a cable and get a few extra % charge which you wouldn’t get wirelessly.

Voltage conversion loss is typically more like 10 - 15% at the power bank side.

Then you get similar (usually a bit less) losses on the phone side, as it steps the voltage back down. And small losses in the battery itself while charging.

Presuming the power bank in this case is using wireless charging, then it's likely in the ballpark of 70% efficient.

That works out at around the 0.8 charges they suggest. Wired charging should do more than a full charge.

  • This does 7.5W wireless charging. Which IMO isn't enough. It's workable on some phones (especially with no case) but in many circumstances it works out being so slow it's not worthwhile vs wired.

15W wireless charging makes a big difference.

fyi and anyone else reading. you can only get 15w wireless charging on iphones with either the official Magsafe charger (the circle thing on the end of a cable - plugged into a 20w apple power adapter) or Qi2 wireless chargers/powerbanks.

so you might think you can get 15w on iphone with something like this https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Magnetic-Foldable-Kickstand… it claims 15w but no mention of Qi2 so it will only give you 7.5w Magsafe charging on iphones.
it is mentioned in the info "Wireless Charging Protocols = Qi 15W Max, 5W for AirPods 2/3/Pro; 7.5W for iPhone 12/13/14/15 Series; Max 15W for Samsung/LG/Google android Series"

Qi2 standard is new to wireless powerbanks so there are barely any options atm. one is the Anker Qi2 powerbank so you will be paying almost 4x the price of this deal for 15w wireless magsafe charging and double capacity of 10000mAh. https://www.anker.com/au/products/a1654-maggo-10000mah-qi2-p…

also worth mentioning apple's own Magsafe battery back only achieves 7.5w max wireless charging. that one is $129 and has less capacity than the anker in this deal.
I dont know of any other Qi2 wireless powerbank sold here but globally there might be more.

  • Turn your phone into a weapon of self defense lol😂
    Brick the perpetrators unconscious!!
