Bought. I swear to god I'm actually going to use it this time.

    • +2

Hey, I missed the two I bought last time as well. It's just so hard to choose and then upload the photos.

      • +1

Agree. But well worth the $1.

    • +1

      Same here.

    • LOL same boat, bought 2 then forgot to use them.

    • well im not the only one forgetful at least …

  • Might want to include the $4.95 delivery charge

    • +7

Ozbargainers don't pay for delivery when pickup is available =p
p/s: Delivery charge added to the post if one opts for home delivery option. Thanks mate!

22 pages might be useful to include in description too

    • +1

      Included now. Thanks mate!

  • umm i keep trying to order.. but after i click on pay now on the paypal page it takes me back to the bigw page and says "order canceled"

    • nevermind: wrong cc was attached as default

  • bought 5 last time around….ordered 4 on the final day….was not able to order the 5th one as was expired….will buy some more

  • I dont know why…. but i bought 3.

    This should be an interesting….

  • I bought one! Was just looking for one of these, and for $1

  • Bought 6.. email states "must be redeemed by midnight AEDST 10 December 2012".. So it's a weekend more than one month. It helps a bit for me.

  • Bought 6 for now…might buy some more…he he he

  • Missed out last time but got 3 this time. Very happy. Thanks OP. A silly question for those who wouldn't mind answering. I got 3 different codes using 3 different email ids. Is that the only way people are getting more than 1 book? I am asking as I want to buy more but don't want to go on creating new email accounts (will surely do it if that's my only last resort).

    • I tried with the same email to purchase and got this message "Only one purchase per customer".
Hope some one find a way to order more with same email.

    • Limit 1 voucher code per customer. so I would assume that's the only way.

    • yep..one voucher per email

    • Yeah it's going to look a bit dodgy when I, dark skinned, go in to pick up photos under a white fellas name

    • +4

I understand that if you have gmail, you will receive any emails with "+" after the user name.

EG, username is JoeBlow. Joe will get any emails address to "JoeBlow+poptarts@gmail", "JoeBlow+donkeys@gmail", "JoeBlow+wankelrotaryengine@gmail". This used to be the case anyway.

      • +3

or you can probably just throw a few .s in there too. Joe.Blow, J.oeblow, Jo.eblow etc. They'll probably think they're different addresses, but google doesn't

        • tried and tested that it works!

        • are you suggesting [email protected] as a suitable address ? that could raise a few eyebrows at the store…

      • cool thanks saves creating zillion other email ID's :)

    • The email address you give is only important to access the account. You don't need to receive the email for the voucher code. You have that as the invoice number of the PayPal receipt!

      • So you can make up any email address… & get the voucher code

    • Thanks for the brilliant tips of adding . OR + to the gmail id. It works and I ordered more books without creating new email accounts. Really happy being an ozbargainer.

  • How bad is the quality of these photobooks?

    • +5

For $1, does it really matter? :)

      • +6

Yes… not for the cost but for the time and effort and for the ability to use something reasonable for a Christmas present.. the few hours to select photos, upload, etc to then get something that goes straight in the bin.

        • Its good enough to put in Xmas cards, but not as a present. I got 10 last time and 18 this time, very pleased with the first 10 so just ordering more so i can include in more cards to people at xmas.

Your not trying if you aren't cracking double digits.

    • the quality is pretty good, i create one for my friend, she friend love it.

      • Is it just photo paper binded together or plasticky?

        • it is staple binded.

      • I have different opinion about print quality, but for $1 no complain :)

    • I have got one from the previous deal. Quality is sufficiently satisfactory, particularly for $1. Won't pay $10 (RRP) for it though, but I would consider even if that's $5…so for $1, it's a steal imo.

    • +1

I have done two photobooks for my kids last time, the photobooks look a bit dark than shown on screen. (these photos were printed out before and they were not dark), so I suggest you bright up your photos a bit when editing the photobook to get better result.

      • +1

Is the monitor you're using a calibrated one?

  • Thanks Op.

  • Bought, thanks

  • quite happy with the quality….

  • good cheap christmas gift :)

  • +1

happy with the previous deal.. bought it again this time

  • Thanks OP! Bought!

  • Why do I find it hard BUYing the photobook? It takes me to another window and I cannot select 6x8 without going to selecting photos. Can someone post a direct link?

    • its google chrome thats stuffing it up. used mozilla and it works! thanks op!

  • +3

I bought some last time for $5 each and was happy with the finished product. They were ready for pick up from my local Big W in only a few days…

The main issue is the pathetic Fuji Film uploading software - a real dogs breakfast teleported from a 1996 'Publish on the world wide web' Uni class.

  • +1

Bugger! Was in a hurry to get this deal & missed the first letter of my email address when I cut & pasted. So didn't get voucher email! Realised the mistake when I couldn't log in, so pasted the wrong address to access my account.
Changed account to correct address… All this excitement for $1!

then realised voucher code is also in the Paypal receipt "Invoice ID: BIGW…."

    • exact same mistake :-)
good tip ordered 5 times and got the voucher only 4 times.

to use this code do I have to log in from teh same account or can any account use the code?

      • A good question. Don't think vouchers would be tied to account.

        • Im pretty sure they arent tied to an account but wont let you use more than one voucher per account. Well thats what happened to me last time.

    • Paypal Invoice ID = Big W code > Thanks Bruce

  • +4

Well I don't need this, but it certainly looks popular .. guess I'll buy one.

    • +2

Well I don't need this, but it certainly looks popular .. guess I'll buy one.

      That's about 92 % of Ozbargain

  • can you use big w voucher credit on this site to buy the photo books or does it only accept paypal or credit?

  • U can put a lot creativity on this photobook
Will buy one again this time

  • +1

Got one for now to see how this "photobook" thing works.

  • Brilliant. Thanks OP!!!

  • Awesome deal. Thanks OP!

  • +1

how do you use the voucher?

Do you just go ahead and create the photo album choosing 6x8 soft cover personalised option, design the book and then use the code at check out?

I'd hate to go to all the trouble of designing an album and then find out I've done it the wrong way and need to redo the album again.

    • YOLO

    • Yep, it's pretty straight forward. I created an album choosing 6x8 personalised soft cover photo book. At check out, i used the coupon code emailed.

You can also save your album after you're done creating/editing and come back to it later.

  • Great find OP!

  • Is it possible to create multiple copies of the same book, or do you have to recreate the same book multiple times?

Or, can you save the book you've created and use the same template to create copies?

    • i'm interested in this as well - anyone?

    • yes, you can easily re-order the photobook.

even if you have different account, you can just share the photobook publicly

  • Good find, OP!

  • What about the actual photo printing charges. A 6x8" photo print cost $0.68, 22 of these photos will cost $14.96. Does the coupon code include photo printing charges, or it is for photo-book only. Would some one plz explain to me. Thanks

    • +1

I'm pretty sure it's book and prints. At checkout, i didn't see any mention of additional printing charges.

  • Doesnt the T&C say "Limit 1 voucher code per customer" so how are ppl able to buy more than one of these? - by opening many accounts??

    • YES
Different email address, even same paypal account works

  • This has the timer still up but says expired.

    • Joyoz, I had the same problem, so sent a message through 'contact' so that they at least know I tried. They may take pity. lol

      • Same issue with me. Still has time remaining, but website said expired.

  • Can you help? I used one of my vouchers this morning and I now get a message as I am trying to put another album through. The promotion says that the voucher can be used for the next month?

"The entered promotion cannot be applied, due to an incorrect code entry, and expired promotion or the conditions of your purchased/and or promotion conditions have not been satisfied"

    The code is correct.

What am I doing wrong? Help!

  • there are 4 hours left for the promo, but when trying to buy it, the error message comes up ie "promotion expired"

damn….i have emailed them also. for $1 its a bargain. I got the promo last time. wanted to buy 2-3 more

    • Yeah, but I have 4 vouchers (the codes) that I purchased yesterday. So, I am trying to put another photo book through. The promotion hasn't expired - we have until December to use the vouchers. Do you think they (Big W) have 'fixed it' so that people can only really buy and use one?
Has anyone else put through more than one photobook - without any problems?

    • Last time I bought two (obviously using two different email addresses). I was unable to create the photobook using the one login twice.they will only accept one voucher per account so u need to create one photobook on each account. Hopefully that makes sense :)

      • thanks so much. I eventually worked it out. What a bummer! I only wanted to change a few things for the different relations but had to do the whole book again. I wonder if it's worth it!! Thanks again.

      • +1

        you can share the photobook

  • Just wondering if anyone has any luck loading their photos?
I had been trying all night and the upload stops at either 16% or 30%.
I am exhausted now and just going to give up.
    Deadline is tomorrow….

    • +1

Same here. Today is the last day of promotion & I've been trying repeatedly to upload photos without any luck. I've even tried facebook import feature, but managed to import no more than 2 photos :(

  • +1

I had emailed twice. They replied this morning and asked me to checked my computer, and tried to blame it to time-out etc etc . I gave them a comprehensive report of what happened, and the fact that I had done several different photo books in the past. To give them their credit, they actually rang me on my mobile but it was not of much help. The worst part is they denied there was anything wrong with their website, apart from a 2-hour glitch last week. She even said she managed to upload ONE photo to my album! She also said that their website is working fine because nobody else has complained. Perhaps you should ring them at 1300 614 359. I wonder whether all the vouchers expire today. The best part: was told the due date cannot be extended.
Looks like Snapfish or others for me from now on.

  • FYI, I've had trouble uploading tonight as well… doesn't get more than about 5-7% no matter which version of the uploader I use and no matter whether I use Chrome or Internet Explorer - my better half had more luck with Firefox earlier today (she is trying to upload mine now).

    • One of the "tips" I've got is to clear your cached and all that.
I had been using Firefox and the problem happened since the first minute I use it.
Anyhow, giving them the benefit of doubt, I tried again tonight, and miraculously the upload was so much smoother.
Well, you have until midnight now….

      • Hmmm… didn't seem to make a difference… ah well… should have expected it, I've had issues at other times with the Big W website not loading… snapfish is the way to go for me (just frustrating to have wasted so much time trying to get it to all work and preparing content etc).

        • Was running like a dog for me too.. tried both Chrome and Firefox. I had to upload only 1 or 2 images at a time… and often that would fail and have to try again. Somehow, I made it with about 3-4 mins to go.

I'm yet to see final product.. but I wouldn't have been very frustrated if I'd paid $10 for this.

I'd definitely be complaining to them about it.

  • yeah that pretty much failed =\

  • +1

FYI, just spoke to BigW online photos on 1300 614 359 and if you had issues with their site last night (my photos just wouldn't upload) just give them a call and let them know - they'll log the fact that you had an issue uploading your photos and give you a reference number. They then recommend trying to get your photos uploaded ASAP (I was able to upload one this morning) and finalise your book and go to the checkout and try your existing code (it may work, someone mentioned that in the checkout the expiry date on the voucher showed as 12/12/12 not 10/12/12) - if the code doesn't work they said call them back and they'll create a new code - they'll need to pass you on to someone else which could take a few hours (they acknowledged the re-issue process is a bit convoluted but at least they are trying to help). Hope this helps someone.

    • After trying most of last night, I managed to upload only 3 photos using IE (I tried with Chrome too). It was constantly "waiting for server response" and eventually comes up with an error/fail. Not happy. Good thing it was only $1.

Roberto - Thanks for sharing. Have you managed to upload any more photos today (other than the one you did this morning)?
Am interested to see if their site is working any better today, if not, I will probably not bother contacting them.

      • Ok I called Big W Photos just then, the girl I spoke to said they had issues with the site last night but it has been fixed today. She also said all voucher codes have been extended to expire tomorrow.

Will try uploading the photos again tonight when I get home from work. fingers crossed

        • +1

Hi lil miss sunshine, I uploaded all my photos at lunch time today with no problems at all. I suspect their servers were just groaning under the weight of all the last minute photo books last night. Disappointing that some support people denied an issue yesterday but they are quite friendly about it today and acknowledge there was an issue (still a painful 4 hours I spent last night trying to get them uploaded!).

        • Thanks for the update Roberto! I just started uploading a few photos now and it seems to be working much better.

Yeah some people are not willing to admit they have an issue until possibly they get flooded with complaints (probably half the ozbargain community!)

I too wasted a few hours trying to upload the photos last night. It was really frustrating.

  • I called them this morning and they extended my coupon to tomorrow midnight. Will try again tonight and see if I can upload them.

  • Oh how lucky you guys are.
I rang yesterday morning and they denied any problem, and refused to extend my expiry because there were no other complaints.
Punishment for me to be the first one to complain??

  • I guessed there may be a lot of OzBargain late uploaders, so uploaded a few hundred photos on Friday. Sunday had trouble with layout (would not save project) - assumed a lot were online at same time. Had no problems with layout last night - except frustrating program, despite a slow internet connection & even slower (ancient) PC. Just got it finished in time. Good they gave extensions!
