Did Not Receive Cash Back Offer on ANZ Frequent Flyer Credit Card

I signed up for the ANZ Platinum Frequent Flyer Credit Card back in October last year. I have met the minimum spend and received the Qantas points bonus.

However, I have not received the cash back component. I am a churner, and never apply for full fee cards (except the Amex ultimate).

ANZ claim there was no cash back offer at that time they say they just keep a spreadsheet and mine doesn't show cash back.

How can I dispute this? I have checked wayback machine website, but unfortunately there is no archive page from the time.

Any tips?

Cheers

If you saved the ANZ application form with all the details filled in subsequent to submission, the page will typically include the product selection (e.g. ANZ Frequent Flyer Black) and the associated offer (e.g. 'Earn X bonus Qantas Points and $Y back to your new ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card when you spend $Z on eligible purchases in the first 3 months from approval').

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see an ANZ Platinum Frequent Flyer Credit Card promotion on OzBargain covering the October-2023 period either, so guessing it might not have been a competitive promotion, or perhaps dates were mixed up?

I just contacted ANZ for you, they said it will go through sometime in 1 to 1 million days, just be patient ;)

Did you mention OP was a self-proclaimed "churner"

I applied for an ANZ rewards black card, around September October I think… Didn't get approved until December from memory because of their pathetic process

Nonetheless I did get 150 cashback in jan

    It was from this promo
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790545

Is it this one? Or Is it possible u had the cards mixed up?

You can't dispute it unless you can prove there WAS a cashback offer at the time you applied, but as you can't, it becomes a hearsay argument.

So do you know what the details are that you think you missed out on?

    Cashback. What cashback?

  • Shame that

Check the offer history on rwrds.com.au

    Chances are you f'd up

  • Sounds like OP is referring to the rebate on annual fee?

  • Happened to me, also less bonus points. First attempt didnt yield me anything. Second attempt, they admit there was something wrong at their end and fixed it immediately. Good luck.

Did you pay with card directly? I once totally forgot and tapped with my phone which goes through Google wallet. That's considered third party payment systems and some cashback schemes don't usually recognise that.

    • Is this true?

I have a big shock coming for my Westpac card then!!

      Might have to start again

Never in my life have I heard anything so terrible happen to anyone. I hope you get through this atrocity soon!

  • never apply for full fee cards

No/low fee cards don’t usually have cashback

Anyone would think this is ozroast not ozbargain with all the comedians about.

Cheers to those who gave sound advice. I found a record confirming 70k + Cashback. Time to battle the call centre.

any churner worth their salt takes screenshots of their credit card applications showing the cashback/points offer

you have failed ozbargain (at the very least, you'll learn for next time ;))
