    • I bought Hisense bar fridge before, the back panel next to the compressor was made of cardboard. I wouldn't put money towards Hisense's TV "quality".

  • +2

Only one year warranty instead of usual 3 year warranty. What are they afraid of? Are they leaving the Australian market?

    • They know the quality of their build.

  • Botany missed out postcode 2019

  • I dont know much about TV specs. But how would the screen of his Soniq compare to TCL c845 50 or 55" model? Are they similar or would TCL be a lot better?

  • Can anyone confirm how fast it boots, open the guide, switch between channels etc?

Looking to purchase this for someone elderly, but don't want to deal with complaints relating to the above.

    • Well considering the Rep posted this it would be great if they could help out - @soniqaustralia?

    • From our experience it boots quick enough, but navigating the menus and all that isn't exactly snappy.

  • Anyone received any notification for regents park pickup being ready yet?

    • Nothing yet…

      • Anything yet, Frenck?

        • Nope, hopefully they will email this week like they've replied to you

        • Just got it today

    • +1

      No notification about shipping either.

      • +1

Slow arent they… if i wanted both cheap AND slow I'd have ordered a cheap tv from aliexpress.

    • Just got it today

  • Unfortunately the unit we received has died in under 3 months, and doesn't display anything when switched on.

Hopefully ours was just a lemon, but not looking forward to dealing with returning it, as Soniq's return policy has a number of terms and conditions that are at odds with Australian Consumer Law. 😅

    • My unit stopped working 5 minutes after turning it on. How did you go with the return process?

  • What does a status of Exported to Oogoo mean? Is it ready for pickup or what?
Not sure why an online order pickup takes so long to let someone come and pickup. Unless they're taking orders without telling people its out of stock currently.

    • Odoo is a CRM by the looks, I would assume they don't manage their sales via the web system and export them over to the system to actually action.

  • Anyone getting shipping updates from soniq or has anyone received their order? It's been 6 days and still nothing 🤔

    • Nope, nothing. Ridiculous really. If they don't have it instock they shouldn't be advertising it for sale.

    • I’m based in Melb and got mine over the weekend. I bought via eBay. Not sure if made a difference

      • +1

Now I wish I ordered through eBay.

  • +1

Revisited this thread to see if anyone's got a "ready for pickup" email yet. Alas…

    • +2

      Trust the process 😜

    • Any update on the TV?

      • I got an email confirming it's ready for pickup.

Pick Up hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00AM-3:30 PM

        • Excellent. You just had to trust the process ☺️

  • +3

I emailed [email protected] and [email protected] (reply-to address for original order email) for a status update but no response…

    • Still no response?

      • +1

        still nada

        • Any TV for you yet?

          • @Lizard Spock: negative…I guess for the price we paid, there is just zero customer service.

  • +1

Still waiting… may have to raise paypal dispute to light a fire under them as they appear to be hibernating over at the soniq warehouse.

  • I thought I'd call the 1300 number with no luck. It's an automated message that lists different emails

  • +1

Mine randomly rocked up this morning on the back of a ute “Proudly delivered by comet” no notification or anything it was coming.

  • I got an email asking about preferred delivery dates so the tv wouldn't be taken back by the driver. They're working through the orders it looks like

    • I hope so. Did you make contact 1st or did they just contact you?

      • Nah they reached out. If it helps I ordered on 24/4

        • +1

Why are delivery orders showing up on peoples doorsteps before direct warehouse pickup orders are being notified to come and pickup? What kind of 2bit operation is this company running over there.

  • I'm thinking about getting one. Anyone who has received one, can you comment on the picture quality and colours?

  • Anyone in QLD get their order yet? Or even an update?

    • Gold Coast. Ordered on 29th and still shows as exported to Odoo.

      • At least you got some sort of notification from them. I got nothing other than an order no. 😞

      • Any luck getting the tv yet?

    • +1

no. sent email. no response .

      • +1

No response from email with me either (sent >4 days ago). Any other updates?

    • +1

i am able to pick-up mine from yesterday , Monday .
however , it's getting delivered free, later in the week.

  • Purchased TV, pickup truganina, still waiting for pickup confirmation,it’s already more than a week. Any idea how long it takes, or just head to truganina warehouse? Send email no response, and no picking up phone either.

  • +1

@soniqaustralia hasn't even been online since the 24/04/2024 when they posted the deal. Very poor service.

    • +1

They have never responded to a comment, They just post deals and then float away in the wind.

  • +1

My order turned up randomly last week without any notice.

Set up the tv today and unfortunately it lasted only 5 minutes. Video stopped working, so going to have to contact support on monday for a refund.

    • +1

Good luck contacting anyone. This deal had been a real fail and a customer service fail.

      • Yes. Im going to send them few emails and see how this goes. Luckily I paid with Paypal though. Might be able to activate buyers protection if they dont issue refund/return.

        • True. Let us know how it goes. So did yours just stop turning on?

          • @Lizard Spock: Yes. It turned off by itself and after that lost all video. Can hear only the sound now.

  • Message received from [email protected] after emailing [email protected]
These guys seem to just ooze incompetence….

"Please note that 25th April was a public holiday and then there was a weekend in between too , therefore, excluding the public holiday and the weekend, it has been less than a week.

Additionally, when you placed the order on our website and selected the pick up option from our NSW warehouse, it was clearly mentioned that the order will be ready in between 7-14 business days. Incase, you missed it, please see below screenshot from our website for NSW ready time. While I can assure you your order has been processed, however, as soon as the warehouse gets it ready , you will get the email notification. Your patience is much appreciated. Hope that helps."

    • +1

Rude and incompetent. Now that I go to their website I can see that it says for delivery:
"Expected Delivered in 7-21 business days"
I'll give them a month and see what happens.

      • so it went from 2-7 to 7-21!?!

        • Depends on the location. QLD is 7-21

  • Just got the TV today! Received an email to pick up Regent's Park between 0700-1530 Mon-Fri

    • Yes we received today also, picked up regents park. They seemed to have about 20 of them ready for pickup there at the time

  • Poor Sonic.
Unable to dump legacy gear even at such low prices?
Do we have a "First World" problem?

  • Anyone know if it has the feature where it can be controlled by my Apple TV 4th gen remote? Sorry I don’t know the name of that feature.. e.g. my current tv whenever I turn on the Apple TV it automatically turns the tv on as well and controls the soundbar volume.

  • Any other success stories of having the tv delivered?

    • +1

I've got mine delivered yesterday arvo. Sydney.

      • +1

I got mine delivered today in Sydney

  • Well I wanted a 65" but mans not gonna say no to this deal

  • +3

I've got mine yesterday, assembled today. First thoughts:
    1. It took so long time to connect the legs with the screws, was very frustrating for such a simple job. And I consider myself quite handy (can do about anything around the house).
    2. I've connected Fire Stick Lite which has a maximum resolution of 1080p, and the upscaling to 4K is very poor. Much worse than my 10yo Samsung 4k. Streaming Netflix looks like watching free to air channels pre-hd era

    On a positive side:
    1. The boot time is pretty good and the remote is responsive
    2. The menu is very intuitive.

Bottom line - I'm planning to get 4K streaming device (Fire Tv or Chromecast) to use with it. Till then, it's quite disappointing considering all the positive reviews from the previous deals.

    • Thanks for sharing. How does it fare with native 4K input?

      • +1

I've tried it with the Fire TV 4K and the difference is huge. Picture quality is great. So I think upscaling is problematic, everything else is decent

        • I did buy the firestick 4k for this tv from JB. I haven't picked it up yet but I also haven't received my tv either 😔

          • +1

@Lizard Spock: I'm waiting for delivery to QLD as well Lizard Spock.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt as we all ordered over a public holiday+weekend, but seriously, no update is very disappointing.

I'm also a little nervous seeing other people mention that their TV stopped working, because their customer service is so poor already that I feel the refund process is going to be a headache.

  • As I mentioned previously, my TV stopped working after 5 minutes. No video on screen. Return process was alright. They are coming to collect it today.

Im bit unsure if I should get a replacement or a refund though. How is everyone else's tvs holding up? Im not sure if I got unlucky or they are selling faulty units as clearence.

    • +1

I got mine on Tuesday, returned Wednesday. Faulty out of the box, with lines across the screen, colour issues (especially red/orange, which highlighted the lines) and bright bands around the edges of the screen. Leg screw holes also were not aligned properly.

Buying this TV was ultimately a huge waste of my time with the pickup, unpacking and then packing again, and dropping it back. I didn't even consider a replacement. Just said I want the TV returned and a refund issued, which thankfully arrived within 24hrs.

There is no way to get in touch with them via phone, with a pre-recorded message asking you to email them. You can not contact the distributor via phone, again a pre-recorded message asking you to email them. They are both part of the Quatius group.

On my search for a phone number where I could actually speak with someone, I discovered that Quatius Aust Pty Ltd, the company listed on the back of the user manual, has been in liquidation since December 2023. This TV is being sold by Soniq Digital Media Pty Ltd, not Quatius Aust Pty Ltd as listed on the manual, so keep that in mind.

Regardless of the finer points on company ownership, I'll be steering clear of anything to do with them moving forward. Hopefully everyone else gets a TV with no issues out of the box that gives them a long life, with no need to contact anyone.

I'd probably neg this deal if I could, but will instead revoke my positive vote.

      • Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes I found that even in my unit, leg screws weren't aligned and I could only get one screw attached in one of the legs. Spent long time even trying to get that in.

As you said it has been a big waste of time and not worth the hassle. Im just going to ask for the refund.

    • Such a shame this is what Soniq has become.

My main tv is an ancient 1080p that’s been rock solid.

They weren’t anything special, but they were reliable.

  • Ordered on 6 days ago. No update yet

    • I ordered 19 days ago and no updates. Not even a reply to my email 😞

      • That's bad. Is there a number we could call? By any chance or just online chat?

        • +1

The number I tried for soniq was not successful. People seem to be getting their televisions, just really slowly.

  • For those that come back to this thread from the next (future) deal:
    1. Deliver to Vic (3040) no probs, I got one email to pick a day.I wasn't in a hurry - about 10 days between purchase and delivery
    Out of the box:

    • feet attached no probs

    • picture fine - no dead pixels , no lines

    • HD FTA - nice picture

    • Firestick (4kmax) attached - 4k just fine no issues

Bought for my daughter, I wall mounted it in her bedroom - she's happy, no complaints and it hasn't fallen off the mount yet! (2 weeks plus use)

Obviously some here have experienced panel defects, but for my experience for price and quality ( and no smart cr@p) I would buy again

    • +1

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully mine would be okay too

    • Awesome that you got a nice one out of the box,
I was willing to give it a gamble and ultimately lost. I honesty thought they’d be fine, but my time is worth more than giving it a second shot.

    • With your firestick 4k, have you been able to switch from Firestick home to tv using the firestick remote? (Or to any other input using the guide button on the remote or with voice eg. "change input to HDMI 2"?)

      • Not for this Tv(did not attempt at all), but I did try to get maximum functionality as I set up the Firesticks for my Hisense Tv's - 1 of them I did want to be able to change source with the remote but couldn't get it to work. I found even getting power and volume to be problematic with a couple of setups.
In the end, as long as I could get power and volume to work I stopped, CBF trying other TV profiles rigorously to get other stuff to work

        • Thanks for the info. I ended up using the Scenes function in broad link to execute "source" "down arrow" "Ok" to change from HDMI to Tv

  • +1

Finally got a reply to my emails. They said since I ordered a cable and they are delayed in QLD, they are waiting for the cable to arrive before shipping. They offered to send the tv without the cable and send the cable later, I said yes so hopefully will get it soon.

    • That's good to know. I hope they contact me and I can cancel the cable. I only ordered it because I thought it had to reach the $300 to get freeshipping.

      • Received mine today, and the cable came too! I guess they were just using the cable as an excuse.

        • when did you place order?
i still haven't received mine. also in qld

  • Mine should be here today, if anyone wants to know anything let me know and I can test / send pictures. I have a 4K fire stick ready to go on and plan on just using that with CEC control.

Only thing I'm not doing is the legs, I've got a pole dropped from the roof ready to mount this bad boy.

    • Cam I ask how did you know when it's arriving? Cuz I've had no email updates or tracking info from these guys at all

      • +1

They emailed and asked for preferred delivery dates and then emailed to confirm.

    • Quick review:
Pulled it out the box, made sure it worked and mounted it. The 2 top mounting holes for the vesa bracket were (profanity), they had plastic protruding so you couldn't get a bolt in. I ended up shaving it out with a stanley knife.

After that slight inconvenience, she's mounted up fine and gives a nice enough picture to my untrained / non-video nerd eyes. Now I'm far from an audiophile, but the sound on this thing is dogshit. It's tinny, lacks bass but worst of all it just doesn't go loud enough if I have the dishwasher on (it's not that far away).

You'll certainly need a sound bar / external audio, but apparently the fire sticks support linking up to echo's as long as they're a certain generation. I'm going to swap some around the house as the one next to it is too old. If that's not good enough I'll find a pole-mounted speaker of some kind (it's roof mounted) or a soundbar mounted to the vesa mounts.
