For my particular insurance needs, they worked out to be about $20 more than anything else I could find, but $150 cashback made it worthwhile. Also has a pay by the month option for no additional cost, so in theory could possibly switch again after receiving gift card, provided after 6 weeks.

  • The Offer is for one (1) $150 eGift card issued by Cuscal Ltd
  • The Eligible Policy must not be lapsed or cancelled at the time the Offers are distributed, which will be within 6 weeks from the end of the Offer Period
  • Multiple Offers permitted, subject to one (1) Offer per Eligible Policy. If a policy has two (2) or more policy holders, the first policy holder named on the policy schedule will be awarded the Offer.
  • A redemption code for the Offer will be sent to the valid email address or mobile number provided by the Eligible Customer within six (6) weeks of the end of the Offer Period. The redemption code must be used to activate the Offer within thirty (30) days of the date it was issued. The eligible Customer is responsible for redeeming the Offer before the expiry date for activation.

    • So… Prior to this deal going live, you were able to get a quote online through the website. This promotion the came into play and you can only get a quote if you call.

Yes, you just click through and can get a quote online. Didn’t have to call. All online.
Obviously @De4lz, your own individual quote results may vary, but for mine after more than a dozen compared quotes with various companies including Allianz directly, this was the cheapest + $20, which when gift card factored in, makes it worthwhile for me. I always recommend people get at least half a dozen quotes for insurance. Often there can be a $1000 difference between insurers in my experience.

  • Any thoughts on better car insurer allianz and Budget direct?

    • In Tasmania, I'd suggest RACT Insurance.
      https://www.ract.com.au/insurance-and-finance/car-insurance

      • A lot dearer , lower value and by all accounts not the insurer it used to be

        • Well RACT is now RACTI
https://www.insurancebusinessmag.com/au/news/breaking-news/s… in a JV with Suncorp.

Naturally everyone dislikes pay for Car Insurance and the Claims Experience.

Have you tried: AAMI or Shannons then?

What Tesla are you trying insure? lol

Are you a Rating One driver with no claims or is the Car Modified or what?

@holdenmg: For someone without a car you babble a lot of shit
Was a simple question for those with experience with those two insurers.

            • @horice: Are you now saying you want to know which is better of the two?

I (reasonably) thought you wanted to know of a better Insurer that either allianz or Budget direct.

I'd go with Budget Direct of the two.

My current Vehicle is a Kia.
So get your facts right first.

Have a look at Auspost Car Insurance https://auspost.com.au/car-insurance as well that is with QBE.

Please share your provider if okay

I took out the insurance online and called them to confirm the $150 gift card offer - was told that it needs to be done via phone with an Ausbank agent to be eligible. Did anyone else get the same? Now I am wondering if I should cancel the policy and take out a New one with an agent instead.

  • My current monthly premium is $99 for Allianz direct car insurance. The quote is $88. I think this offer will be better than my existing car insurance.

  • Did a quote online and called them with all the same details (including the agreed value) and compared both quotes. Guess what? My online quote is way cheaper (more than $150) compared to theirs. Note: Won't get the gift card if doing it online.

  • Got the same quote directly from Allianz and separately through Auswide Bank to compare - Auswide Bank one was like $200 more…

Quotes from Allianz is cheaper for almost $280 that going through Auswide. Not worth it.
