Full Mens Suit for $38 from Rivers

A suit is something you can really get ripped off on (as they cost nothing to make but usually cost at least $200) so this a great deal.

Shipping is $6, alternatively you can buy the suit in store.

  • wow that's cheap lol!

    a bit too cheap lol!

  • So cheap it scares me…

Their $1 socks from last time still rocking on my feet though.

  • so tempted, but i wonder how they look?
still, a suit for getting drunk in as opposed to my expensive one would be nice

Looks ok, just like any other suits. However, the quality is so so. Material is quite thin. But for the price, I guess it's a bargain.

  • I don't wear suits, but one day we bought 99 dollar Lowes ones just to go out and get drunk in ;>

  • they look kinda bad

  • "Suit Up!"….How I Met Your Mother reference.

Do not even think about buying a 100% polyester suit. They look as cheap as they cost. $38 is definately not worth the effort to look ridiculous. At the races you can spot them a mile off. Yes you can get ripped off buying a suit, especially if they are under $300. This is one product that you need to see as an investment rather than a purchase.

Agreed. It's like the people at the races this year(mostly bogans) who were wearing the cheap suits from Aldi. Could be spotted a mile away from they way they scrunch, glimmer in the sun and how their stiching was ohh so visible.

      • I almost bought one of those suits!! haha

      • Unfortunately not everyone can buy expensive suit…..

I dont mind tho, for work and stuff…I mean you cant wear expensive suits with my salary range + mortgage

    • +3

You have an opinion about the quality suit - thats fair and publish it, but its still are bargain at $38. It, pardon the pun, suits some people to have a cheap suit - eg 12th grader going to a formal. At $38 its a deal. Hugo Boss its not. Secondly I saw these in Rivers before the sale and they are not that bad. After a few wears that may change but as a occasional wear suit for the non executive it has its place. And it looks less ridiculous than some kid not being able to wear a suit at all. So leave it be. Vote negative if there is something fundamentally wrong with the deal - not because it offends your sense of style. If so it's like people voting down cheap coke can deals because its got too much sugar, rots teeth etc etc A positive from me to offset the negative

      • well said ozpete :)

If find the problem with buying suits is the sizes are never quite right.
You think you are one size but every suit seems different. Buying anything online which requires a close fit is a risk IMO.

  • I would avoid a polyester suit. Not a good material to be making suits out of as they just look shiny and cheap. Agree with previous comments about an investment. A good suit can last years!

    • A good suit can last years

Agree. HOWEVER, your figure might not last years (At least for me, after getting married w/ kids. Damn my expensive suits don't fit anymore. Argh!!!)

I got my fully fit Hugo Boss suit and pants for $40 AUD!!!
    LOVE OP SHOPS!! hehehe…

I think most people here bagging the cheap suits are the same idiots that pay hundreds of dollars for essentially a crap pair of pants and an even crappier 'jacket'

suits are stupid, they look stupid, people wearing them think they look amazing and powerful and if you get a 30 dollar suit or a 4000 dollar suit, it's all the same rubbish. Having an expensive suit doesn't make you part of some exclusive club that you don't want the randwick race bogans attempting to crash.

Yeah… but still I need one for work… if it was up to me i'll be coming in jeans a shirt… but unfortunately, clients wanna see suits ties and dress shirts. Sucks but thats life!

    • Sorry, but I don't see flannel shirts and thongs as proper corporate attire. Makes me shudder to think what you think is suitable attire for the workplace and other important events.

I wonder what you wear since you think suits are stupid. I bet you'd be wearing shorts and a wife beater singlet to your wedding.

Love how you stereotype all suit wearers as thinking them as part of some exclusive club. It's not suit wears who think they are……it's obviously YOU!

      • +1

Ha. I work in casual dress environment. However we still need to dress up to go to clients' or suppliers' meetings. The thing is, once you get there, you found you are the only one wearing suits and the client/supplier would wear casual. The same applies to the time when people come in for meetings or interviews — they all dressed up but we don't bother to change…

        • So true Scotty hahahahahaha ;-)

I think you are bordering on a personal attack here, and that’s not necessary.

          I don't agree with you.

edit: actually, maybe a little. But I doubt he finds it offensive considering his own extreme point of view, which I find insults more people then my comment. You might just want to step back a little a 'chillllllll'

  • time to use my 25% off voucher at Rivers…

cant wait to look like a cheap bogan.

    • lolololol thatss goooooold

  • All you suit experts please explain to me how to spot a cheap suit lol!

    I need to learn hahaha…

  • +3

Polyesters are not all the same. One member mentioned "shiny" suits from Aldi, well this suit doesn't look shiny to me in the photo.. I frankly doubt that most people would be able to tell the difference between this suit and any other. Even if it is not appropriate for say, professional work, it is still very cheap and could be used for other occasions.

  • I love the so-down-played TV ad'.
The kid sounds like he DOES NOT want to be seen advertising suits… WAY to un-cool for his liking.

    [ :- { )

  • did anyone buy one?

  • +1

i bought one, the suit is awesome, fits nicely, bought 2 pairs of the pants for general occasions, they look fine,
looks a hell of a lot better than if i were to go out wearing 40 bucks worth of clothes from somewhere else, and i dont get done for indecent exposure either! :)
